Review: Avid reader who has read several twisted tales by this author: Great book! Exceeded expectations - This was a gift from my husband. I'll be honest here, I took my time getting around to reading this book. I read the beauty and the beast and sleeping beauty twisted tales by this author and was not happy with her writing. I started to read her aladdin tale and again had trouble with this author so I stopped. I was sure this book would be terrible. And the beginning of the second chapter with the very descriptive scene of London almost had me put aside the book for good - but I am glad I stuck it out because this was a wonderful book and has restored my faith in the author. I think she did a wonderful job capturing Wendy, tinker bell and all of Neverland. The book is full of adventure, wonder, and purpose. It is not obvious how things will be resolved and the main character is thoughtful in her growth as a character. The way the author writes is very descriptive so it is not a quick read, I caution you against speed reading or skipping - you will ultimately miss out on wonderful details and the deeper meanings of the tale. I think its a great book for any disney fan, Peter Pan is by no means my favorite disney tale (that would be beauty and the beast!). If you are on the fence, please give this book a chance!

Wendy’s book
This is a delightful book about Wendy’s adventures in Neverland with Tinkerbell. The author has paid close attention to other Peter Pan stories and has written this book in the same magical way that others have portrayed the characters. The reason I gave it only 4 stars is because Peter Pan doesn’t show up until page 272! That disappointed me. However it was still a fun book to read and Wendy and Tinkerbell have a whimsical story.

A Beautiful Story!
I am a big fan of Neverland and Peter Pan retellings (in fact I'm writing one myself!) so I knew I had to check out this book. The only critique I have is that some parts at the beginning moved a little slow but the last half picked up and FLEW by (ha, see what I did there?). I love Wendy's character and the change and growth she experiences. I love the author's take on the relationship between Wendy and Tinkerbell and the focus on their growth rather than Peter. The descriptions of Neverland were beautiful and I LOVE where Wendy ended up. It's so amazing to me how many different interpretations of one place and story there can be and this version is one that all Peter Pan fans (and those who just love a good story) should check out!

Peter Pan twisted tale review
Just wanted to continue to collect this book series because I'm loving it. This is the first book of the series I've gotten so far that is not a twisted tale on a Disney princess, so I think it will be just as good.

Fun twist on Peter Pan
If you are a fan of all the previous books in the Twisted Tales series then you’re likely going to read this no matter what. That’s a good thing. The series as a whole is a really fun way to see all your favorite stories turned upside down. Now, for a bit about this one. In this story, Wendy gets to Neverland but she doesn’t get there with Peter Pan. In fact, she catches his shadow and holds on to it for years and years but he never comes back to get it. So, sixteen year old Wendy is living a rather dull life. She looked after her brothers but now they are both off to school and Wendy isn’t doing so well when it comes to socializing and making friends. One day, her parents find her diary and decide that it’s time for her to get shipped off to Ireland to be a governess to a bunch of children. Needless to say, Wendy is not happy. When the opportunity strikes and Wendy actually gets the chance to travel straight to Neverland she jumps at it. Thing is, it’s not Peter who comes, it’s a pirate ship and she winds up making a deal she probably should have thought through better. Captain Hook is up to no good and now Wendy may just have to team up with an unlikely ally to save the whole of Neverland. This book was alright. I’ll confess right off the bat that even though I liked Peter Pan I’ve always found it to be a tad boring. That said, I also found this book to be a tad boring. Most of the main players were here that you’d expect to see in a book that takes on Neverland but it was just lagging a bit here and there, just enough to get a little too boring. That said, it’s still not a bad story. It’s fun seeing where the book went when the story was changed around. I found it interesting seeing the twist and the way all of Neverland had to bend and fold to find a way to fit into the new theories being laid out in this whole new tale. If you’ve read the others you should enjoy this one well enough. If not, you may want to read some of the others but since you really don’t have to read them in any order you can jump in whenever and wherever you want to.
