Transformers Devastation - Xbox One

Overall this game is really really fun. It's like you get to control an episode of the G1 series. With the cell shaded animation and the original G1 voice actors it's like you are part of the show. A great original storyline that takes you from Earth to Cybertron and back.It's a shame I didn't hear more about this game when it first came out. Should have been a bigger deal. Two minor down sides are that it is a fairly short game AND you can only play as the Autobots. There are no Decepticon missions. Would have been nice to have something more like War for Cybertron, and would have lengthened the game. BUT that shouldn't be enough to prevent you from playing it.This game and its storyline are self contained and nicely wrapped up by the end, but you can tell they were setting up for a sequel which apparently isn't going to happen, which is a shame. But this game overall, is great!

This game is a gem and PLEEEEEASE bring it back! I want to play it on all modern consoles!

Everything arrived in good order and still sealed. Good Transformers game to grab for new Xbox series X users or those grabbing a used Xbox one on the cheap. It's no longer officially in digital storefronts since this is from Activision and the licensing of Transformers is no longer with them, so this is great to be able to get to experience Transformers legally. Game itself is a little tough, but it can fill a gap for new or old gamers looking to play a game from the franchise that stylistically looks more like a cartoon with the cel shading.

It takes a while to get used toBot upgrades/Weapon leveling: it is a bit weird. You can upgrade individual bot stats using the in game currency or beat bosses. Progression is slow.You're also limited to the 5 bots on the autobots side and there's no decepticon story to play.Now I wonder if they would make a beast wars version.

Excellent buy

Got this for my kids (4 to 8) and they had a blast. It’s all cartoon violence of robots fighting, nothing scary. Even my four year old got into it by making the characters transform from vehicles to robots... watching his mind get blown by this simple part of the game was worth the price alone. He even got to beat up some Decepticons by smashing the same button non-stop, but was much more into the transforming. If you like transformers, it’s a fun and simple game that has all of the classic original characters you can control. Given the lack of transformers games I was surprisingly happy with this. It has additional difficulties and some gear grinding for adult children who play the game when the kids are asleep so they can get a massive hammer to max level for Optimus Prime to wield, So the next time the kids play they can be impressed by the old man for being awesome at a kids game :)

If you grew up in the 80's and loved Transformers then this is the game for you! Beautiful and I mean BEAUTIFUL graphics and gameplay make this a joy to play. The characters look like they literally walked out of the 80 cartoon series! Gameplay mimics that of Bayonetta, which is a good thing! If you're worried this game will let you down like the movie based transformer games then set your worries aside. I need to mention again that the character designs are absolutely stunning! Oh yeah and they brought back most if not all of the original voice actors! This game reminds me of what it was like to play Ultimate Spiderman for the original xbox. Fun for days.Please note: I am a huge transformers, comic book, and video game fan. This review is for folks who like the same. If you've never heard of transformers or never watched the 80s tv series I can't say wether or not you'd like this game.
