iGotTech Heavy Duty Gym Lock: 4 Digit Combination Padlock

This is a great little lock. I would have given it 4 stars because of the middle two numbers not working correctly (they cannot be changed to new numbers), but I mentioned it to the company and they immediately offered a replacement w/out any returning hassle. I did not actually opt to replace it because 2 numbers is enough to deter people from getting in my gym locker to steal a tshirt and dirty socks. Nobody is going to know the middle two are permanently set to the default number by looking at it, but the fact that they were willing to replace it immediately no questions asked was what I was looking for to give a good review. I understand sometimes items have defects, I work in manufacturing as well. Other than that, it's as heavy duty as it can be for the size, feels substantial etc. I wouldn't lock a bike up with it, but I live in a high bike theft area where it's only appropriate to use large metal u locks for bikes. I definitely think it's a great lock for minor deterrent use and I like the feel of it and side panel.

I love my combination lock - now I can remember my combo! It is very sturdy and durable. It was very easy to set my combination, instructions were clear and easy. High quality and well made, my only compliant is that they don't have color options. It would also be helpful to have bigger numbers (lol, I'm getting old) but I would definitely purchase this again or as a gift. Don't frustrate yourself with cheap locks - spend a few dollars more and get a high quality lock such as the iGotTech Heavy Duty Gym Lock.

I was looking for a replacement lock, as I lost my horizontal (number, NOT letter which I hate) lock. This lock is sturdy and easy to use...it's made of high quality materials and the tumblers almost click as you dial the combination. My only complaint, with my aging vision, is that the numbers are so small, in black print on chrome. If the numbers would be slightly larger or distinct (say, black with white lettering?) it would be perfect and get 5 stars. FYI, I see these all over the gym locker room, so they are popular. I do wish they allowed you to pick a color, way too many people have a shade of blue!

Great product! I chose this lock because it was a perfect balance between simplicity and effectiveness. It is also very nice looking, and the combination can be changed easily. The mechanism seems very durable and it is perfect for daily use for my gym locker and probably many other things. The owner of the company reached out to me personally and asked if I was happy with it and if there was anything else he could do. I have never had that happen before. He really stands behind his product. It was a great choice!

After reading various reviews for this lock, I was excited to finally receive it in the mail. In order to set a combination for the lock, you had to turn the hook at a 90 degree angle and press (fairly hard as it turns out) and while you're pressing you had the set the 4 digit lock. This was not an easy process and when I finally set my combination and turned the hook to close it, it wouldn't close. Turns out, during the unnecessarily difficult process to set the combination, somehow I didn't press the hook hard enough or possibly released it slightly so the actual combination could have been any series of numbers I was turning while trying to set my 4 digit code. This definitely strikes me as a ridiculous flaw to the lock and now I have an unusable lock on my hands.

The lock is a good (small) size for what I need, but the numbers are small and a little hard to read. The tumblers (numbers) don't spin that smoothly, but with some coercion they get moving. Another drawback is that the lock won't lock unless the combo is set correctly. All in all, its cheap and gets the job done. I just wouldn't trust it to keep anything that safe for a long period of time.

Bought two of these locks for my wife and myself. These are for use at the Gym. I chose the combination lock to save having to carry keys around during work out. These locks seem to be well made and are quite heavy. Setting the combination was easy just make sure you keep the hook pressed down firmly when setting the numbers. The only problem my wife had was reading the numbers at the side without glasses. The code can be set with the numbers on either face instead of the side so this may make it easier to read. All in all a good lock for the price.

This gym lock was exactly what I was hoping for when I ordered it. What I didn't want was one of those spin-clockwise, spin-counterclockwise, spin-clockwise locks from middle and high school, where I always seemed to pass the right number or forget the middle part, etc. Pros: 1. You set the code, four digits that you dial in. I use an old ATM code which is never going to leave my brain. 2. You can look at the side to see the code, or the front. Since you set the code, you essentially pick where you want to see the code. I like the front view. 3. Lightweight and not bulky, great for me to lug to the gym. 4. Very responsive customer service, emailed to make sure I got it and was satisfied with the performance. When I need another lock in life (who doesn't?), I'll check this company out first.
