A great competitive monitor
This monitor superior had really good picture quality. The fact you could set the monitor to 280 hz for such as great price was pretty crazy to me. Very easy to setup, and was the perfect size coming in at 24in for 1080p. Def great for competitive play or even casual. Since it’s an IPS monitor it also gets pretty bright for those who may be concerned with going with an OLED monitor which doesn’t get as bright. Sound quality was okay.

Great Product! Gamer Approved!
I now have two of these monitors in my setup, and they’ve been awesome. I was finally able to get a second one recently, and right away I noticed something: the new one looked even better in terms of image clarity and color fidelity. That’s when I also realized that my first unit had developed a small spot of burn-in — a faint purple haze likely caused by my wallpaper and the overclock I have on it. It’s only visible on dark scenes and doesn’t affect daily use, but it’s something I didn’t catch until comparing it side by side with the fresh panel. Aside from that, both monitors are fantastic. The 280Hz refresh rate is buttery smooth, the Fast IPS panel has great color, and the OSD is intuitive. Adjusting the display profiles directly on the monitor makes a big difference — it’s easy to get the image dialed in just how you want it. The newer monitor has been flawless after 6+ months, and overall, both are holding up well, even with overclocking and daily use. If you’re looking for a responsive, high-refresh 1080p monitor with strong build quality, great i/o, and great visuals, this one is still one of the best picks out there. Highly recommend, especially for FPS and competitive gaming.

Great quality and performance
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I already own an older model of this monitor... specifically, three of the smaller ones. I was looking to add more monitors for my wife’s setup. Since I was already familiar with the brand and liked the features of the previous model, we decided to go with these two monitors. They have very smooth height adjustment and rotation. As long as your setup can support it, the refresh rate is fantastic. We did run into some initial issues getting them to perform well, but that had nothing to do with the monitors themselves. Always make sure to check your computer for any manufacturer bloatware or power-saving settings that could drastically affect gaming performance. Now that everything is properly set up, they look great. They’re very bright, and the color depth is excellent. The monitors may look a little yellow in photos because my wife uses a blue light filter, but in person, the display quality is outstanding. Honestly, there’s no downside to these monitors. They’re absolutely awesome.

ASUS VG259Q affordable gaming monitor
The Asus VG259Q is a great pick if you’re serious about gaming and want something that can pull double duty for other tasks. The 280Hz refresh rate and IPS combo are hard to beat, and it’s built like it’ll stick around for a while. Sure, the price stings a little, and the backlight bleed can be a nitpick, but for me, the pros outweigh the cons. I’ve loved every minute of gaming on it—and honestly, even binge-watching shows looks better than I expected. If you’re ready to tweak it to perfection, this monitor’s a solid upgrade. Pros: 280Hz refresh rate: Makes games feel incredibly smooth, especially fast-paced ones like shooters or racing games. IPS panel: Colors look vibrant, and the screen stays clear even if you’re not sitting dead center. Gaming performance: Handles everything with minimal motion blur—perfect for competitive gaming. Versatility: Not just for gaming; it’s solid for casual photo editing or movie watching too. Cons: Backlight bleed: There’s some in the corners, especially noticeable in dark scenes or loading screens. HDR performance: It’s there, but not amazing—you’ll probably need to tweak the settings to make it look decent.

Good Monitor with some room for Improvement.
After a year, I could say it has been a good monitor, considering the price I paid for it (just $179.00). I like the image quality, the colors are very vivid, the actual functional size. It has great connectivity options and easy to configure. I like its G-Sync compatibility, zero issues on that matter, and the refresh rate of 280Hz makes all so pleasant to watch. I currently have it on a desk mount arm, but its original base and design is sober yet gamer oriented. I won't give it 5 stars because it is already showing some stuck pixels here and there, after just a year of operation. Never had that problem with any Samsung or LG monitor, but as I said before, it is offering a lot for less than 200 bucks, and the issue is still not noticeable on normal use, only visible when the screen is all black and if you look for it. It was a great Cyber Monday deal.

Pretty good monitor
I've been using it for a couple months now and I feel like this is good. I stayed 1080p because I did not want to lose FPS on a 1440p. The HDR is oversaturated or unnatural so I keep that off, but that is on most monitors anyways. "Turbo mode" on the monitor's setting can cause flickering so I keep that at a 0. You can run up to 240Hz without "overclocking" the monitor so I keep it at that and vsync in nvidia to 235 to avoid screen tearing. The monitor's height adjustment is great, build quality is great, and it looks good. My only gripe is the cable it came with seems cheap. I went ahead and got a 2.1 display port cable and all is good. The biggest plus is this is a IPS monitor, way better then TN or VA screen types.

280 hz is a noticeable improvement from 144hz. I really like the IPS panel too, colours looked aqmuch better than my previous VA monitor. Not a fan of the ELMB sync tho, makes me dizzy.
