Great upgrade for your MMX 300 2nd Gen
I'm an adult computer enthusiast, a gamer, and I enjoy a variety of music and podcasts. My Astro headset died after years of use. In an effort to spend my money wisely, I did some research on my next headset. ZeosPantera and his Z Reviews helped me settle on the Beyerdynamic MMX 300 (2nd Generation) as the headset of choice. I enjoyed his videos so much (despite knowing I simply do not fully appreciate sound in the way he and most of his audience does), I ended up watching a whole slew of them (and, I'll admit, still play a few every now and then -- I'm hooked). Anyways, in one of his videos, he runs through at least 10 variations of Dekoni Audio Replacement Ear Pads, using them on a dozen or so different sets of headphones/headsets, including the Beyerdynamic MMX 300 (2nd Generation). For each, he ranks the ear pads and recommends what works best. For the Beyerdynamic MMX 300 (2nd Generation), he gave this particular ear pad high marks. So, I splurged and bought them. First, these are very well made, and as I prepared to install them I had a chance to physically compare them to the stock ear pads. I'll tell you Beyerdynamic makes an excellent product, but they need to consider contracting with Dekoni because their pads are both visually superior and a tactile examination clearly reveals they are softer and made from superior materials. I installed them. Easy. These fit snug and are fully compatible. If you have MMX 300's, these work and fit very well. My ears aren't especially discriminating. Sure, I know what sounds good and what sounds like poop. The stock pads sound good and feel okay. I do wear glasses and the stock ones did over time hurt a bit, but that's what you get when you're old and got'ta wear specs. It's a tough life and you got'ta put up with some first-world problems, right? So, these new pads sound better. Don't look to me to tell you why or use the right words to describe it. They are just better. I like them. I think you will, too. Zeos agrees. Trust him. Look to him for the right words to explain how and why. I just don't have them to offer you. They're also much more comfortable. The first-worldw problem solved. They feel great, even when wearing them for hours. I'm happy I spent extra money on these pads after spending a bunch of money on some great headphones. If you're hemming-and-hawing over whether it's worth the extra costs, just do it. In the long run, you'll agree it was a worthwhile investment. Now, back to Z Reviews. They're fun.

Very nice quality, marked improvement on stock
So far so good! installation was a bit annoying but I didn't take the time to use a hairdryer to loosen up the elastic. It wasn't superbly difficult but I could see how it would get frustrating as it seems like whenever you get one spot on the last undoes itself. I did get them on at a point, and once I did I noticed quite a sound quality change from my DT 770 80Ohm editions. There is definitely a change in audio quality from the stock velour pads to the Choice Leathers, and it is one that makes these headphones significantly more enjoyable. The first track I tried was the Ursula's Cartridges' remix of Climbing the Corporate Ladder, and right away there was significantly more impact in the low end, which is usually a lot lighter on Ursula's tracks. Soundstage also has opened up in a surprising way, directionally I can sense things a better, more reminiscent of an open back headphone, however you will still know these are closed. Higher frequencies are less piercing and stab your ears a lot less. The next track I listened to was 思い出, by t e l e p a t h. This track seldom is flattered by headphones, and I thought it sounded meh on the dt770 stock pads, however the track really opened up and sounded quite pleasing on these. Seems to grant slightly more clarity as well as the other benefits that this has. The third track that I listened to was Happy Cycling by Boards of Canada, and right away there is significantly more detail on the low end bass drum strike at the start of each measure. So much detail I can easily hear the grit on the strike of it. The song also feels to me like its presenting faster and tighter than it has before, very pleasing! I got these because I use my DT770's as my communication headphones as well as casual music listening. The outer noise attenuation is one of my priorities when I was considering a pad swap, and these seem to be a step-up in that department as well. Comfort is higher, I really liked the velour as it was very soft with the slightly intense clamp force of the dt770s, the leather seems a bit more firm and I don't quite like it. As the memory foam ages I am sure it will start to have more give, and as the headphones age I am sure they will also become more comfortable. After a few days of heavy use, I have determined that these pads are indeed quite nice. They make these headphones sound more full, with much more pleasing response and resolve. I have one slight complaint, as the sleeving that the cups use to hold onto the cans can be quite flimsy, and you may lose the earpad from time to time. All in all, I would absolutely recommend these to anyone wanting to take their DT770 pros to the next level. When comparing them to my HE-560 V4s I think they're a phenomenal challenger in the race that is "which my favorite pair of headphones."

Excellent, easy to install, improves bass
These are great replacement pads for the DT770, DT880, DT990, Custom One Pro, and any similar sized pair of headphones. The leather is soft and feels great against the skin. Though the price isn't cheap, these pads are made well, and extremely comfortable. Best of all, they improved the sound of my DT770. Installation These particular Dekoni Elite Lambskin pads fit the Beyerdynamic DT series as well as the Custom One Pro. I have both the DT770 32 Ohm and the Custom One Pro headphones - these pads fit easily over them. In fact, they are much easier to get into place than the pads that come with the headphones. Like the stock pads, these pads have a lip around them that fit over the outside edge of the headphone cups. But unlike the stock pads, the lip on these is larger and easier to pull around the earcups than the stock pads. So as a result, installing these onto the headphones takes a lot less time and effort. Comfort Of course the most important aspect of any pair pads is comfort. I've had these Dekoni Elite pads on for hours without any issues of soreness or pressure. As far as heat goes - my ears do get a little hot I will admit - but not anymore than they did with the stock pads - and even that wasn't much. Also, since these are leather - they do not "absorb" sweat or moisture like fabric pads do. The pads fit around my ears, and not on them (like the stock pads). So my ears are never sore from any pressure the pads apply. Lastly, the memory foam is very soft and comfortable. They are like big pillows around my ears. These pads are definitely a step-up from the stock pads in every way. Sound The bass response improves with these pads on - probably because they insulate better than the stock pads. In the case of the Custom One Pro, the bass becomes slightly more boomy. While this was initially impressive; I didn't keep the pads on the Custom One Pros for long. Those headphones are already bass-heavy - no need to add more. When these pads were installed on the DT770, the bass response is improved, and the treble was slightly rolled off. This is actually what I wanted - because I felt that the DT770 lacked a bit of bass to begin with, and the treble could sometimes be a bit harsh (a well-known attribute of the DT770). So for me, the DT770's sound improved enough that I would call this a worthwhile purchase. (I will admit that I still run my DT770 through a headphone amp and DAC to further imrpove the sound.) Conclusion If you have a DT770 (or any headphone that fits), and you want to improve the bass response - get these Dekoni Elite Lambskin pads. They are easy to install, feel great, and the materials are top notch. They are also much easier to install than the stock pads - and will likely last longer.

Comfortable, expensive, okay audio
I purchased a second set of AKG K240 headphones after giving my last pair to my son. I have never thought the pads that come with the AKG K240 were very comfortable, so once again, I purchased a replacement set of earpads. Last time, I bought velour earpads directly from AKG. I came across these Dekoni Audio Elite Hybrid Earpads and it seemed to be the perfect balance of velour against the ear for comfort and higher quality real leather for sound and less peeling of the material. As the description states, the Beyerdynamic DT Series version does fit the AKG K240s perfectly. I do find them to be the most comfortable earpads I have ever tried. I do not find that they improve the sound quality. In fact the bass seems just a bit more muddy than before, but unless I focus on it, I do not really care. I do care about the comfort 1,000x times more. Since I purchased this headset for 50% off, I actually paid more for the earpads than I did for a set of highly respected headphones. But that is probably why the ones that came with the AKGs are so uncomfortable... AKG is prioritizing sound and cost over comfort and long term wear.

Breathable Comfort for Beyerdynamic DT-770 Pro / Pro X
My ears tend to build up heat faster than cooling gel can dissipate, thankfully that's where these jersey ear pads come in. The fabric material is very breathable, allowing the air circulator in my room to wick away body heat before it becomes bothersome. An added bonus imo is that the breathability of these pads helps create a more neutral and open sound, which is great for people who find the Beyerdynamic DT-770 Pro / Pro X to be "too bright". Installation was effortless when using the spin / rotation method. I also love how deep these pads are, giving the DT-770 Pro / Pro X the same comfort and padding native to the new DT-700 Pro. I'm VERY happy with this purchase and hope they'll still be around whenever I need more.

Best tuning earpads
Perfect headphone earpads. I used them to tune my Beyerdynamic Amiron wireless headphones, and they literally transform their sound, pushing the Beyers in a different dimension. With the original earpads, the Amiron sound pretty good, but lack bass. I tried the Dekoni Hybrid, fenestraed sheepskin, and sheepskin. In the end, I settled for the sheepskin version; the other two added too much sibilance to the sound, while the sheepskin do everything right. They are a must to bring the Amiron to the performance level they are capable of, and also add a new level of comfort.

Too thick to maintain the sound of the headphones.
I want to say that these are well-made before I say anything else. They are soft, and comfortable. They get a poor rating for what they do to the sound of the headphones. I chose to get these for a pair of DT 990's. They amplify the base, but they ruin the mid and high range of the headphones. They make everything sound much further away, but in a bad way. They don't increase sound stage, but rather detract from the presence of the headphones. The issue is how thick the pads are. They are VERY thick. I could never understand why you would buy these on purpose, knowing what they will do to your audio. Don't get these. They are well-made, but will make your headphones sound like crap. They are comfortable, but way too thick to maintain the sound of the headphones.

Very comfortable and lasts a long time.
I bought the Jersey Knit kind because my skin doesn't like the leather. They lasted almost four years of daily use before the part that holds the pad to the headphones cracked and finally gave way. This is about 4x longer than any other pad I've bought for my Beyerdynamics Custom One Pro's, so I'm immediately buying another set to replace these.
