Fun for bedrooms or DJ's starting
This is a good little item to be fair. I'm an old school dj that has not done it in 20 years so it's more of a hobby for me now. Saying that I have just upgraded this item one day after buying it. Reason being I'm thinking of getting back into it after messing around with this for a few hours. It's so simple to use, fun for beginners or a back up for DJ's. I used it with virtual DJ so you don't have to use it with the same software they say it comes with. Try it for your kids, or yourself you'll enjoy it. Build quality is ok but I'm used to more expensive (old like myself) vinyl and cds but times have changed so much now I thought I'd give it go. I dont think you will be disappointed for the price and as long as this and other items hold out I'm going back to work as a DJ again. Sound is good but I only Brought some bedroom speakers for now at the same time. These will be upgraded massively if I return to DJ'ing along with other items. For the price you pay for this item it's well worth it and I cant complain even if it feels cheap. Light weight and easy to move about, slim and easy storage when not being used your good for all occasions with this. Dont expect a million dollar set up it's not that way inclined, bedroom use or starter DJ. You will need to upgrade soon but it is really fun .

WANT TO GET STARTED WITH A DJ CONTROLLER, YOUR SEARCH IS OVER!!!
Absolutely Superb! I am no headline DJ by any means, nor will I ever be, I just play at being one in Second life. But, play is play and simply throwing a bunch of tracks into a playlist with a standard 5 second fade between tracks is not really "playing" dj so controller it is. I didnt want to throw a lot of money at it, so bought a second hand intro controller from a well known audio brand ;) and although it was fun for a few days the severely limited functions very quickly became annoying, so was looking for a few models up from that same brand when I happened upon a comparison with this controller which indicated this is better, and about half the price of a second hand one of the other brand! So, with free returns there was nothing to lose trying it, I can order it and play for a couple of days, find the limits and return it and look for something else. Once I got the thing plugged in, even before that, I figured it wont be going back! If I had to cut it back to the one thing that makes it shine I would have to say it is, errr, well, the whole damn thing! The jogs are just sooooo smooth, much bigger, the displays are lovely eye candy and useful for me and a beginner to have the info right there on the controller under my nose. The performance pads are just night and day different, for a start there’s none of that clickety click of the other controller, maybe a tad on the stiff side for my aged finger bones but not to the point I am going to break any, with buttons for hot cues, auto loops, fader cuts and samples, the software I use ,Mixxx, further divides those into 3 sets by either pressing the button, shift pressing or double/ long pressing. So that gives an impressive number of functions from the pads! The almost full size tempo sliders make it real easy to dial in a beat match accurately, and you can adjust the scale from 8, 16 or 50% right on the controller if you do need more control. There is no "bump" at the neutral position which is a little disappointing but not a deal breaker, but I must say it is more than a little annoying that the slider is wider than the printed markings! Come on, at the very least print the centre mark wider so you can see at a glance you are in the neutral zone if you are not including a tactile indicator! The 4 deck control is much easier to use, personally I would have preferred a single button press for change deck and shift press to toggle scratch mode, but of course I can remap that in my software should I need it. Some indicator of which deck is active would also have been very very helpful, its quite easy to get lost! The mixer of course comes with the usual’s, low-mid-high eq, channel gains, headphone cue gain and mix, it has 6 fx buttons which again I can map in my software, currently I have them set to toggle 3 effects in the chain on either deck, I can set both fx chains to affect both decks and then have 6 effects on the buttons, its flexible. The fx section has a wet/dry mix and beats button which changes the beat linked effects in sorato, in mixxx it operated the meta knob for the effect. The fx section also has toggle switches to activate the selected effect, NICE, slide the toggle toward you to temp enable the effect and let go to turn off, or push it away from you to latch it on hands free, should be a standard feature on all controllers IMO At the top of the mixer section is the browser controls, click the selector and rotate to pick a track, press the l/r load button to cue it up,double tap the load button for instant double of the other deck, sweet. There are dedicated buttons on each deck for loop in/out marking, loop, reloop, 1/2 and x2 buttons to adjust the loop, very nice! Few other bits you would expect, mic gain, but that is hardware controlled so does not feed back to the PC for streaming, its only in the RCA signal to speakers so no use to me as I stream to shoutcast. top right is master gain, of course there are sync, cue and play buttons for each deck, and pitch bend buttons if you dont want to use the outer jog to do it, dont know why you wouldn’t though :) So, yeah, I think its fairly obvious already but for me, just dipping my toes tentatively into the world of DJ for a bit of fun, this thing is just mind numbingly good fun! Things have changed a lot since the 70's when my pal and I had two vinyl decks and some flashy lamps along with the ultimate creation of an infinity box. Search the tube for "Numark Mixtrack Platinum FX - DJ Performance" and see what you can do! Yeah you could probably use this for professional use, one dj I spoke to said they still have it despite having pro equipment and have used it for sets when there has been issues with the other gear, but really its a very capable beginner controller at a very affordable price, it has everything I can imagine ever needing (but never say never, who knows where this road will take me) and to be honest I have had 225 quids worth of entertainment from it already HAHAHA if you are like me and just want to start learning how to DJ just buy it, bite the bullet, honestly its a cracking good bit of kit you will love it.

Really good controller for beginners or more experienced DJs
For the money, this is a really nice 2 channel controller. The 6 inch jog wheels are off Denon's far more expensive pro models and are smooth, weighty and accurate - really nice to use and even scratch with. Would be nice on a controller several times the price The faders and knobs are all quite nice too Nice long tempo fader makes BPM adjustment more accurate. Full-kill 3 section EQ. The 8 rubber performance pads have a good feel and the 4 pad-mode select buttons make using them easy VU meters are rare on cheaper controllers but very useful if you're gonna play out with it. The FX section with it's battle mixer is simple but very nice to use - select an effect button and then push the paddle for the side/channel you want to use it on. Makes using effects super easy The only thing on it I would change is the "Fader Cuts" function, on the pads. I cannot see myself ever using it, and because it's hard-mapped to the controller, you cannot remap it to a different function in VirtualDJ or Serato. But other people might well love it.

Not bad but..
It’s a decent controller overall and very competitively priced for what’s being given. It is plastic so I wouldn’t expect too much in regards to build quality but it will last if taken care of. The jogs are excellent, responsive and well weighted, they feel great to use and have plenty of info. Feature wise it’s no where near pro standard like the Mixon 8 form Reloop for example but it has enough to make a good set. The XLR connection at the back is very good to have and the sound quality is above the asking price imo and probably the best thing about this unit. The biggest let down for me is the crossfader. It’s ok for mixing/blending and general use but it’s no good for any advanced scratching, you can do basic stuff on it but that’s about it. The crossfader cannot be changed either so no upgrading to something like an innofader which if it were possible would makes this controller a killer unit. Not sure why Numark decided to limit the upgrade path on this controller to 0 as to be honest that doesn’t even make good business sense let alone welcome creative support, I mean if the crossfader was replaceable then I am pretty sure this unit would be more successful with a broader genre of DJ. Anyway if you can live with the cheapie crossfader and limited features you will have great sound quality and a fairly decent, capable unit for small bar work, house parties and so on.

4 Deck Mixer, excellent for beginners and seasoned DJs
Forgot I bought this (I've got a new one since), I'll admit I returned this one from Amazon but only because my Lenovo T410 couldn't handle it at the time, but now I have a L340 it's a great mixer (for me at least), I use it with Virtual DJ so can use STEMS either via the computer (GPU Advised) or the mixer can handle that depending on the way VDJ is set-up. The only problem I had with the new one was that the crossfader was a bit jumpy at 100% either side but a £15 replacement part sorted that one (The one I have now is a 2nd hand unit so only to be expected). Fairly light to carry to and from a ggi (I got a carry case with mine), installation is just a case of plugging in the USB and off you go. Sound is great although this may vary on your set up (speakers, sound card/chip etc), I can't say much more really and as for Fit and Comfort it should sit on most desks no problem depending how much stuff you have on there. Oh and if you have it plugged in whilst NOT using a DJ app, it will go into a fruit machine style attract sequence.

A very good controller
I haven’t dj’d for a good few years. I used to own a pair of 1210mk2’s but unfortunately had to sell them for personal reasons. I was never a superstar dj or ever played to a paying crowd but I really enjoyed mixing and just having fun with my pals at home. I started looking around for a controller as I wanted to get back into it and from my research these machines were ticking all the boxes. An abundance of features, Easy to use, Great build quality. Compatible with serato and top quality streaming through tidal. You’ll need an account which for the basic version is £10 a month but I do feel it is worth it. Plus you get three months free trial when you buy the controller. Overall I’m really happy with it. I’m still learning my way around it but I’m already doing more creative mixing than I’ve ever done before. 5 stars from me.

It's great 👍
This is a great piece of kit . Works well with laptop with i3 upward . I got it from amazon warehouse supposedly slightly damaged . Still looking for the damaged worth the reduced price . Saving around 80 pounds original price. Good for all dj's . I prefer Virtual Dj software but can be used with others . No need for other mixer for speakers all the connections are available on the device . Aux phone in and out also 2 mic in plus XLR to active speakers .
