Good for beginners as well as seasoned "gym rats"
This little device provides a much better workout than I expected. I'm a former fitness trainer who was looking for something that would supplement my stationary bike for light indoor cardio on those days I can't get to the gym or out for a walk. I also wanted something that was quiet enough not to disturb my downstairs neighbor (it makes just a bit of noise when used on hardwood floors, but it's quiet enough when used on carpet), and I found that I can get a pretty decent little workout on this disc. The instructions that came with the disc suggest placing it within reach of a counter/tabletop for support, but except for using it the first time, I don't think that's necessary for those who have no problems with balance or other infirmities. In fact, I make sure I use an area with lots of clear space, as having plenty of room for your arms to swing will help keep your momentum and balance and give you a better workout. And if you find yourself starting to turn too much in one direction, putting equal turning pressure on both feet and keeping your arm movements as equal as possible will help keep you twisting in a more or less centered fashion. I first tried stepping on the disc with bare feet (size 8, a good fit for the disc), but the nodules were hard and a bit uncomfortable, so I put on a pair of thin flip-flops, which added the perfect amount of cushion. When using the disc, I just make sure that my abdominal muscles are engaged to support my back, then I try a variety of movements for a more interesting and varied workout. It's fun trying different degrees of bent knee positions/foot placement (in as much as the size of the disc allows for changing your foot placement) as well as different arm movements. You can drive the movement using primarily your legs or arms or both at the same time. I found that standing straight upright with barely softened knees and arms "paddling" straight down provided more of a workout for my abs and took the emphasis off my quads, which already get plenty worked out on my stationary bike. Using a pole or chair-back for support, you can also try placing your weight mostly on your heels to get a better workout for your glutes. I was amazed that even though I'm fairly fit, the day after I first tried the disc (in a bent-knee position, using mostly my legs to drive the movement), I really felt it in my quads, especially in the inner thigh area just above the knee. And after a few days, I've found that my posture, whether sitting, standing or walking, is much improved -- an unexpected added benefit, but I guess that means it's helping to strengthen my core, even though I haven't really felt my abs getting much of a workout. I bought this primarily just to get myself moving and off the sofa while watching television, but it's fun discovering just how versatile a workout it can provide with a few small changes in body position/movement. It seems sturdily constructed and I think it offers excellent value. To sum up, it's easy and addictive, and provides an effective little cardio workout. And when used with light weights or a 3 lb.-6 lb. medicine ball, it really targets your core.

A Core Workout Game Changer: The Core Ab Twister Board
As someone recently ramped up my workout routine, I sought something to challenge and strengthen my core without requiring lengthy sessions. The Core Ab Twister Board has been a perfect addition to my home gym. Its compact size belies the intense workout it provides; trust me, you will feel the burn quickly! The 12-inch diameter of the board is ideal for balancing comfortably, and I found it especially accommodating since many other twist boards are smaller and less stable. Incorporating this tool into my workout routine has allowed me to engage my core and my thighs, hips, and back muscles—all crucial areas for overall fitness. One of the standout features of this twister board is the 8 magnets that provide magnetic therapy. While exercising, I am not only strengthening my body but also benefiting from improved blood circulation due to the magnetic field. The added massage knobs are a great touch, offering reflexology therapy to my feet, which is soothing after a long day. The quality of the Figure Trimmer board is notable—it's made from thick, durable plastic and has a smooth rotation that cheaper models can’t match. This robust construction ensures that the board can handle regular use without issues. For those with larger feet or who require more stability, the Figure Trimmer XL might be a better choice as it offers a larger diameter and a higher weight capacity, but the standard size has been perfect for me. In conclusion, the Core Ab Twister Board is worth considering if you want to add a new dimension to your fitness routine that provides a quick, effective workout. It's been an excellent tool for enhancing my core strength and overall fitness.

Your Stomach Will Burn & Cramp Up
I am a 27-year-old woman 5'4 and between 163-157 pounds Shoe size 8 When I got this in the mail, I was too excited about it. It came in a two to three inch wide box with a set of instructions. It was already assembled, so all I had to do was just used it. I immediately put it on the floor and jumped on it. And to my amazement, this actually does get your abs fired up. It's not a machine, which I thought it was. It just has plates that help or make it easier for you twist your body, or give you that sensation that you want to twist. I did this for 30 minutes three days in a row. The first time, I watched a TV show with it. The second time, I played music worth 30 minutes, and then the third time, I watched another TV show. I developed what felt like a cramp below my ribcage but then it went away eventually. It is REALLY tough keeping this up for 30 minutes because once your stomach starts stinging, you want to get off. But don't, because it gets easier as you go. You have to move your arms side to side positioned at chest height to help you move. The instructions said to have one knee bent, which in some ways can be tricky because you feel you might step off balance. But I've had a habit of just keeping my legs straight. My balance abilities have actually been impressive. It's rare of me to step off unintentionally. Your arms also get tired as well. So, it's like you're getting a workout for your abs and arms. The instructions did say if you want to pump it up a bit use some weights. I tried that with 5 pounds but it was too much. Try 2 pounds. I also felt my bowel movements going to work. I love ANYTHING that makes me run to the toilet, especially when you have those days where you can't. **CONS** 1) Some cons are that if you are barefoot on this, the structure of the plate can hurt or irritate your feet. I wore house shoes or sandals the second time and had no problem. 2) I HATE that the plate twists around when you're trying to watch or keep an eye on something. So while you're twisting, it also kind of makes you twirl around. So, I can't face the TV the entire time I'm on it. For a few seconds I may be facing a wall, then a window, my computer, and then back to the TV a few seconds. Absolutely despise this. 3) I'm surprised that by as much burning that I feel in my stomach, I have not woken up the next morning to aching abs, which makes me feel like I have not done enough. So, maybe this can be a pro if you have no aching muscles that prevent you from working out. But I really would have liked to have felt that I just made a difference. My stomach is currently 39 inches and I'm looking forward to seeing that go down. I hate my stomach and am trying to flatten it down. Ugh! I will keep updating you guys! UPDATE 3/14/13 When doing this for 30 minutes, calories burned (according to my calorie watch) are around 151 calories. When I did the exercise today, the cramps were actually worse than they were before. So, for every song that finished, i took a small break in between songs worth 30 minutes. Honestly, I believe this disk will work, but it's a dreadful workout. You're on a disk twisting for 30 minutes. Ugh.

Could be better
I had a square wooden twister when I was a teen. Worked well. Never hurt my feet. The reason: It was a smooth flat surface. I’d give my right arm to have every single bump and magnet removed. This thing HURTS the bottom of my feet after a few minutes. Even with thick sole athletic shoes. I imagine the only people it doesn’t hurt are light weight or average weight people. The more weight you have on this bumpy ride the more agony for your feet. Horrible experience. I’d return it but it’s too late now and I didn’t keep the box. I gave it 3 stars because it’s stable, twists well and isn’t loud.
