Good Quality & easy to use
Had it for a few days. Took a chance as it wasnt cheap!! Hence only 4 stars for value for money. A well made item & seems like a good piece of kit. It comes with a 2 year warranty which has to be a positive. I am very pleased with a Ryobi lawnmower bought last year so I think a gamble with the pump was a fair bet. I am very impressed with it so far & so are other family members who perhaps need to check their tyre pressures more often! On a practical note, the instructions aren't worth reading because they actually don't tell you how to use it!! Fortunately, it is fairly intuitive. It's now been used on four cars with varying states of lowish tyre pressure, and the 5amp battery is showing no sign of requiring a charge. I can only assume it is very economical on power consumption. All good so far.

Efficient pump
Versatile pump, for pumping up car tyres, pools etc. Even powerful enough to pump up van tyres quickly. Easy to use, set desired pressure and press go. Will shut off when pressure reached.

A Great Piece of Kit But Proved Tricky to Use at First
Initially, I struggled to connect the inflator to my car and bike tyres. I ended up with a few fairly flat tyres to begin with. Eventually, I found a way to make an air-tight connection but that was fiddly. I was on the verge of returning the inflator! Fortunately, the Technical Department at Ryobi had a solution, the best method is available in a Ryobi video that they emailed out to me. The currently supplied connector is now NOT the simple, brass, screw-on type (shown in the photos and their current marketing video) rather its a quick fit and quick release type. I will try to explain it here but the video shows it better than I can describe. I had been trying to attach the connector by pushing it onto the valve, by holding the (small diameter) black, crimped coupling that connects the connector to the high pressure hose. Doing it my way only succeeds in rapidly deflating the tyre! Holding and pushing against the larger, black, sliding ring effectively allows the connector to fit over the tyre valve without depressing the valve pin (which would deflate the tyre). Then, sliding the grey outer shroud towards the valve locks it all into place quite easily (even though it sounds complicated as I've written it!). The grey shroud can be easily pushed forwards by sliding your finger from the black fitting onto the grey. I've attached the Ryobi video here. Having now got the hang of connecting the pump to the tyres it is a very impressive piece of kit, much easier than having a trailing lead to the car cigarette lighter socket, which is always too short to reach my caravan tyres. Also, I'd say that this pump it is probably considerably faster than the 12 volt, wired inflator that I've used previously. My old 12 volt inflator struggled to pump my caravan tyres up to the required pressure but this easily pumped them up from about 55 to 60 psi in probably less than 1 minute - sorry I didn't time it but I wasn't getting impatient! No signs of struggling at all. It is really useful, being so portable, for inflating tyres which are away from the car (12 volt source), in my case I'm now able to easily blow up car, caravan and trailer tyres. Also the likes of bike tyres, wheel-barrow tyres, jockey wheel tyres etc. I've not tried it on inflating air beds but I don't envisage it being a problem. I've only used it to top up car tyres and caravan tyres so far, I've not tried from totally flat so I'm not able to give a time on that. The 5 minute maximum run time hasn't been an issue but it could be if you are pumping large car tyres up from flat, you may need to be patient. I have checked the accuracy of the pressure gauge on the inflator by cross-checking with a digital tyre pressure gauge. Most readings were in very close agreement, the biggest difference was seen on my (fairly large) car tyres, that I blew up to 33 p.s.i and the digital gauge showed a fraction over 34 p.s.i. On the caravan tyres inflated to 60 p.s.i. there was virtually no difference between the two gauges (no more than 0.2 p.s.i.). I've no way of knowing whether either gauge is accurate but I was reassured that none of the readings were even 5% different when compared with the other. Personally, I would have preferred a brass, screw-on connector, I know others are critical of these because they take a few seconds to connect and detach but in my experience, quick release systems have always previously failed after quite a short time. This is my only concern, whether the connector will be as robust as the brass, screw-on type shown in Ryobi's earlier videos and photos? I certainly hope so, although I have extended my warranty to 3 years by registering the device. The cost of the inflator is not cheap and that doesn't include a battery, nor charger but if, like me, you have other Ryobi kit so you can share the batteries, then the cost is perhaps not too bad.

SO GOOD TO USE!
The Ryobi cordless inflator is a joy to use compared to my Michelin inflator which plugs into the car socket. Being cordless I don't have to open the car to use it and it seems accurate and stops at the pre-set pressure. It is not, however, good value for money at £77 without battery which costs an additional £75 for a 5.0Ah! But better value is had by buying the HOMEDAS P108 18v Battery 18v 5.5Ah Li-ion replacement for Ryobi at £27. My review of this battery has more to say.

Superb Tyre Inflator
Great Tyre Inflator, easy to use and is quick at inflating the tyre and switches off when the tyre reaches the pre-set required pressure, another great Ryobi product.

Excellent Item
The Multi-inflator is well designed and easy to use. You just need to set the pressure to want to inflate the tyre to, connect it and and it will run until the correct pressure is reached an then shut off automatically. Please note this only applies to tyres not other inflatable items (balls and inflatables etc.). The unit is surprisingly compact so no problems storing it in the car.
