Art Spectrum Colourfix Sanded Pastel Ground - Clear 250ml Jar

It really, really works. You can turn any paper (or part of a sheet of paper) into a great surface for pastel painting. And a little goes a long way - - just take your time, apply it in thin smooth strokes, and you'll be very pleased.

This is my favorite ground! I do watercolor work on metal and this ground is gritty enough to grab the color but also smooth enough when buffed to leave an even finish!

I'm new to pastel art. Found this helpful when applied to some board panels I already had to give the necessary tooth to do pastels. Provides somewhat rough tooth and holds pastels well.

Looooove it. I'm a pastel artist that wants a lit if flexibility in underpainting, base surface color and amount of texture. This is EXACTLY the right product if those are your goals. I have underpainted with watercolors and acrylics. I've used it on watercolor. and pastel papers, canvas, fiberboard. To date I've used up to 4 coats to acheive desired texture with no problems allowing to dry completely between coats. A bit milky in the jar, it sries perfectly clear

Works on pastel paper to give it more tooth to the the surface so the pastel stays. Will be buying this again. Big Improvement in what I can find and buy locally.
