This was my FIRST review - OUR FIRST WINTER WITH THE PRODUCT. SEE my SECOND review at the end of this one .. A YEAR LATER> I purchased this product for my family's 2 family house. My parents live on the 1st floor, I live on the 2nd. During the winter we were waking up everyday to "mouse droppings" all over the stove and counter, despite these places being washed down after dinner every night with Clorox lemon wipes. Peppermint oil being put on cotton balls and wiped on the counter is another thing we tried. After doing some research and talking to the people I decided this Ultrasonic Repeller was the way to go. I sent for them in mid-January. They arrived and we plugged in 2 on each floor. I feel I have been more then patient and have given this product a fair test (2 months). While there are fewer droppings, the mice are still here and still leaving their "little gifts". The light is blinking every 4-5 secs, since we can't hear the tone it supposedly gives off (sound that mice/bugs hate), I have to assume that either it doesn't bother the mice, they don't care or they are deaf or there is no tone and it is all a con because I can tell you -- These plugged in pieces of plastic are worthless pieces of garbage. THEY DO NOT WORK! SECOND REVIEW - I left the product plugged in for the year, it wasn't in my way. I did notice fewer spiders and those awful stink bugs. But the best surprise was the winter... NOT one mouse all winter long. From talking to people who have had these critters while the product does work, but it has to be in place and operating before the mice take refuge in your home for the winter. Once they are in and have their babies while the noise to them is horrible they can't leave. Which explains when the weather got nice they moved out and as long as the pest repeller stay plugged in they don't come back. We are now on our second winter, mouse free.

Just what I needed. Easy to use

I haven't noticed these having any affect on even the lady bugs that we have an abundance of here every year .. I have them in an open area free from absolutely everything and anything that could disturb the travel of the sound waves. I'm my room it's located roughly 2 feet from the window pointing towards it and still there are lady bugs there.. in my son's room, his if also in an open area directed at the problem window, his however is about 10 feet away from the window.. I've also cleaned the windows and put peppermint oil around them as well and these devices do not seem to have reduce or eliminated them. It says in the description that it's safe for your household pets because they can not hear this noise the unit puts off however I am very much questioning that because I myself can hear it, very faintly but I can definitely hear it. It sounds kind of like the zap noise you hear when you have something metal that touches a wire and you blow the fuse.. I find it hard to believe if I can hear it that my dog's can not hear it.. I will say, regardless of the fact, in no way does it seem to bother either of them.. so I would've necessarily give a bad review as far as safety goes for the household pets. I'm assuming I'd be able to tell if it were bothering them and that doesn't seem to be the case at all.. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this product for even small insects and I feel safe to say the chances are minimal it would have any affect on anything larger.. I'm giving this a 5 star for ease of use you're literally plugging it into an outlet and you're done. There's no parts to put together, instructions you need to read on how to assemble it and other than the free seconds it takes you to plug this into the wall, it's simple, easy and quick. The size of the product I'll also give a 5 star. You can very easily plug the unit into the wall outlet without covering both outlets which is important in a place that you may have limited amounts of outlets. I've not experienced any sort of odor from these at all.

Still seen a couple bugs come through my small apartment but overall less bugs to worry bout.

I have used the Bell and Howell Plug Ins for Pest Repellant for several years in different state in different apartments and they have always performed well. Very good product and would highly recommend.

Doesn't seem to work, there is a spider living in a web right next to it. The device also has a VERY bright light that comes on a night.
