Expert Gardener Hand Held Seed Spreader

Used it for the first time about a month ago. I initially used my tow broadcast spreader behind my atv to spread Sevin granules for grub control, but when there was only a small amount left and it would not drop through the hole anymore I dumped the remaining granules in this hand spreader and used it around my two apple trees. Works really great. Easy to hold and the crank turns just right to distribute the granules. I’m planning on using it again in the fall when it comes time to over seed a few bare spots in my yard. Instead of getting out the tow behind I’ll be able to focus on the areas that need attention. Really great product, I’d highly recommend. Eric in Wisconsin

I use this to spread salt melt pellets during the winter, and it works great.

Like the spreader, but was supposedly green, but the one I received was black. Not a big deal and the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars

Haven't had an opportunity to use it yet for spreading sand/deicer on my sidewalk here, but it appears to be reasonably sturdy and well made, fits the hand/forearm comfortably, and is just the size i was looking for. When i get to use it the next time we get ice i'll send along a follow-up.

This made infinitely easier than the large wheeled fertilizer I had. It's comfortable and very easy to twist and it shouldn't make your arm tired. You can cover areas in a short amount of time. Only downside is it's not big so using it on a big area you'd have to fill it up a bunch.

First, I love the way you hold this. It uses your forearm to take some of t he weight when the unit is full, and that is a BIG help. Two things were odd about mine. First, it came with a broken rotating handle, which I was able to repair, but I still worry about the long term. Second, it came with Walmart stocking label. Not sure how that happened, but it seemed odd. I do like the unit and it does a good job.

Initally, I purchased this spreader to broadcast a granular fungicide on two small lawn areas (950 sq.ft.) After using it today I foresee its doubling for fertilizing as well. I researched and compared this model with others on the market and selected it primarily for the design of the handle that provides a feature to rest the wrist while broadcasting. Too, I do not need a push-model spreader, given the relatively small size of my lawns, so another benefit results from more efficient storage. I checked out a couple of video reviews while researching and comparing, and this neat little hand spreader fulfills all it promises in descriptions and reviews.
