Argo 9000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner for Rooms up to 20 sqm

This air con unit has been amazing in the recent heat. We have an open plan living room and kitchen which is bigger than the size room it states it should be used in but it works brilliantly at keeping the whole space at a comfortable temperature. We move the unit into the bedroom for the night and this is where it’s true power can be seen. Within half an hour the temperature has dropped from over 30 down to 25 and then continues to fall to the desired temperature. It is a bit noisy but works wonderfully as white noise for our baby and neither of us have had any problems sleeping with it on

Ok, so unit arrived on time, delivered by DPD. First thing to note - it's very heavy. I'd say it's around 30kg, so be prepared for some serious lifting if you're needing this upstairs. Despite other reviews, I found the device fairly simple to set up for air conditioning. The only minor issue, and the reason there is a star knocked off, is that the window vent that's supposed to go on the end of the ventilation pipe does not fit at all, not matter how hard I tried. In terms of noise, we've been running it on full power at 16C since it arrived and it's not much more noisy then the water evaporator cooler we had running before. More importantly the bedroom is now so much cooler. I think we'll be living in there until the weather cools down! I've owned other aircons over the years and this one is a good compact unit. So after 7 hours of owning it, I'm loving it. If my view changes, I'll update this review.

Can not describe the joy this brought us during the heat wave. Noticeable temperature drop within 15 mins. It is noisy, but it’s better than I expected (it’s very relative to the user I guess).

My tiny apartment in central London was far too warm this summer - hitting highs of 34 degrees, which is less than ideal when quarantining and working from home! In a desperate bid to not melt, I purchased this to make it at least livable. All I can say is WOW - super powerful and after only 20 or so minutes I felt so much more comfortable, and kept the entire room at a nice cool temperature. Even though I'll be packing it away soon as winter approaches, I will most definitely be wheeling this out again when next summer comes to ensure I'm not a puddle come the next heatwave.

Decided to invest in an aircon for the warm summer days that keep getting hotter from year to year, and I couldn't been happier with this choice . My room is almost 13msq and it makes it almost Arctic cold. It does take around an hour to drop the temperature but at least I need a duvet to sleep at night even when its around 30 degrees outside.

Great air conditioner

The air conditioner works great as an portable air con unit but it's extremely loud. I originally got to keep me cool during the warm days and difficulty sleeping at night due to the heat. But even on the lowest settings and the unit a considerably far away from my bed I merely can't sleep because it's too loud and vibrates the floor. Living in a terraced house, I am genuinely concerned whether or not this is vibrating my neighbours room parallel to mine. If you want something to keep you cool in the communal areas of your house (living room(though probably difficult to watch TV with this one/kitchen etc..) then I say go ahead and buy it. If you plan on having this air con unit inside your bedroom then I would definitely avoid. If you can't sleep because of the heat then you definitely won't be sleeping with this on.

This is a good portable air conditioner. It does what it should and does so reasonably quietly. The instruction booklet, however, is poor. Diagrams are small and badly illustrated and it makes setting up the machine a hard task and one requiring some guesswork. Once that is done, it takes some figuring to determine that the remote control must be placed at the desired setting as the air conditioner will not respond to amendments before turning on the air conditioner as otherwise there is no amendment possible except to change the temperature and turn the machine on and off. However, the major flaw lies, as it does in so many portables, in the connection of the exhaust hose. It is impossible to connect the hose to the air conditioner without the hose continuously coming out of its housing. The instructions say that it should be screwed into the housing but this is impossible with either the hose opened up or flexed closed. We have two Amcor portable units in the house and know that a secure connection is possible but not with this machine.

Für 290€ bei Amazon direkt gekauft. Gerät ist "Made in China". Geliefert mit UPS. Verpackung lies sich nach aufschneiden der Plastikbänder nach oben wegziehen. Praktisch. Der Aparat ist fast 30 kg schwer. Macht nix. Zum Bewegen sind unten 4 Rollen zum schieben. Zudem eine Griffmulde oben hinten. Zubehör komplett dabei. Obacht! Manche Rohr-Teile muss man auseinanderschrauben um sie dann zu verbauen. Die Leistung der Anlage ist beachtlich. Die hat ordentlich Bums. Das Lüftergeräusch ist relativ laut. Zwischen Lüfterstufe 1 und 4 ist aber eine hörbare Lautstärkedifferenz. Das Geräusch hat aber keine unangenehme Frequenz oder nervige Geräusche. Man hört und spürt vielmehr... Hier kommt jede Menge "kühle Lüft"... aaaah wie gut.. Also: Was will man denn noch alles haben ??? Situation: Bei uns ist das Wohnzimmer 5x5 m direkt mit dem Wintergarten 5x4 m (Innenschattierung), beides Südseite, verbunden. Das kann diese Anlage natürlich nicht wahnsinnig herunterkühlen. Das war mir klar. ABER: Dadurch, dass die abgegebene Luft auch die schwüle, nasse Luft austrocknet trotzdem GENIAL! Das ist ein super Wohlfühleffekt. Die Lüfterstufen sind wenig unterschiedlich. Egal! darum geht es nicht! Die Anlage kühlt im Rahmen der Preis-Leistungsmöglichkeiten perfekt. Montage: Am Wintergarten ist eine Schiebetür. Dafür habe ich ein Brett 2m im Baumarkt gekauft (6€) halbiert wegen dem Transport und dem handling und mit Rolladenband wieder als Scharnier verbunden. Daraus den "ovalen" Einsatz (ist dabei) ausgeschnitten. und dann eingesetzt und verschraubt. Passt! Betrieb: Die Luft wird bei Drücken der "Swing"-Taste automatisch langsam wechselnd nach oben und waagerecht ausgeblasen. Rechts- und links-Richtung muss manuell per Schieberegler eingestellt werden. Die Stunden-Programmierung an-aus (0,5 - 24h) klappt perfekt. Nach ca 20 min - im derzeit (26.07.19) heißen schwülen Wetter im Bereich Kaiserslautern ca 38 °- fängt die Anlage an, das Kondenswasser intern hörbar zu verdampfen (Tröpfel- bzw. Plätschergeräusch) und durch den Abluftschlauch abzuleiten. Dafür muss man nix ausleerern. Klasse!!! Kosten: Bei den derzeit megaschwülen Tagen geht es auch nicht nur um die Komfortfrage sondern um die Gesundheitsfrage! Das Gerät braucht 1 khw für ca 29 ct (leider ist der Strom in Deutschland viel zu teuer) pro Stunde. Also knapp 3 E in 10 h . Na und ? Der Tag nach Kreislaufkollaps im Krankenhaus kostet 10 E. Besser daheim geblieben für 3 E. Man ist über die Woche ja ohnehin arbeiten und braucht die Anlage erst nach Feierabend bzw. am Wochende. Fazit: Und wenn nur für 20 Tage im Jahr (bisher) diese Irrsinnshitze herrscht. Die Anschaffung lohnt sich !!!

L' ho acquistato 1 mese fà a maggio preparandomi per il caldo estivo. Era in offerta ho pagato solo 269 euro, un prezzo più che conveniente che non si trova facilmente neanche su internet. Una marca seria, il corriere è stato veloce e molto gentile mi ha portato il pacco pesante sulla scala. Non capisco perchè tanti si lamentano con questo climatizzatore. Io pur essendo una donna l'ho montato da sola veloce senza leggere il manuale. Il montaggio è molto intuitivo, il tubo aderisce benissimo al climatizzatore se ci state attenti. È molto potente per il prezzo che si paga, mi basta per il primo piano del mio appartamento 30 m2. Il rumore che fà è un pò elevato rispetto al condizionatore split ma è giusto lo anno per tutti i portatili. Il rumore e sopportabile per normale. Il rumore non è nè agressivo nè fastidioso. Quindi il mio voto è 5 stelle. Per quello che riguarda la finestra, io ci ho messo una pellicola robusta trasparente con lo scotch e ci ho fatto un buco per il tubo del condizionatore. Funziona benissimo. Crea un fresco fantastico giusto e piacevole di 24 gradi nelle giornate torride. Però dovete tenere le finestre delle stanze chiuse, oppure a micro ventilazione. Peccato che non ho comprato codesto apparecchio prima e ho sofferto il caldo. Quando fà troppo caldo va acceso di mattina alle 9.00 - 10.00 così rafredda la stanza velocemente e mantiene il clima fresco tutto il giorno. Ottimo prodotto! Lo tengo nella sala dove non dormo. Quando cucinotengo il gas acceso è la mia salvezza. La temperatura non sale più a 29 -30 gradi. Non sudo più. La mia salute è migliorata. Volendo si può accendere il " pinguino" anche di notte ma io lo spengo perchè le notti sono fresche da noi in montagna mi basta un ventilatore. Lo consiglio a tutti che non possono installare il sistema split nelle case. Non esitate non fate caso alle recensioni negative! E un regalo per le persone che soffrono il caldo, hanno problemi di cuore o alta pressione.

Je viens de passer du modèle précédent de la Marque à celui-ci, et le contraste est dingue ! Alors, de base, la soufflerie elle-même est beaucoup plus forte, le réglage le plus lent reste plus bruyant qu'un ventilateur classique au maximum ! Mais, au déballage en tout cas, le bruit du compresseur lorsqu'on enclenche la clim est IMPOSSIBLE à entendre ! Je suis incapable de dire, juste au bruit, si le système réfrigérant est en marche ou non, uniquement à la température du flux d'air. Alors il faudra voir comment ça évoluera au fil du temps, mais pour l'instant, c'est effectivement extrêmement silencieux (à noter que j'ai laissé les scotchs de la livraison car c'est souvent sur de petits panneaux en plastique, ou à cause de la coque de l'appareil, que les vibrations et tremblements produisaient du bruit dans l'ancien modèle). Je dors sans problème à côté, ça fait comme un bruit blanc. Les palles sur la façade qui changement l'orientation verticale du flux d'air et bougent automatiquement (et UNIQUEMENT automatiquement, ne pas les bouger manuellement) sont un bon bonus et semblent bien aider à refroidir la pièce.

Musste gerade ein Konkurrenzprodukt mit 57db zurückschicken, weil die Geräuschkulisse des Gehäuses und des Kompressors nicht zu ertragen waren. Diese Klimaanlage habe ich bereits seit vier Jahren, und alles läuft rund, ohne störende "Nebengeräusche". Es gibt drei Lüfterstufen die bauartbedingt etwas laut sind, aber dafür hat das Gerät wirklich geringe Abmessungen und ein annehmbares Gewicht. Das Display am Gerät ist super abzulesen, auch keine Norm bei allen Geräten. Das Gehäuse macht einen wertigen Eindruck und es klappert, quitscht und brummt nichts. Die Kühlleistung geht für 25m2 in Ordnung. Wer mehr will muß sich eine 8 Kilo schwerere und von den Abmessungen größere Anlage mit 12000 Btu zulegen. Stromverbrauch liegt zwischen 700 und 800 Watt, wobei bei meiner 12000 Btu-Anlage der Stromverbrauch (1100Watt) auch nicht viel höher ist, da diese dann schneller abschaltet, wenn die Temperatur erreicht ist. Die Fernbedienung hat leider keine Beleuchtung, aber eine große Reichweite. Eine Follow-me-Funktion fehlt. Positiv ist der Temperaturbereich, der bereits bei 16 Grad anfängt. Die Preisleistung passt.

Veramente è un "tappabuchi d'emergenza", dato che il climatizzatore Dual Split da parete, vecchio 18 anni, ha fatto il suo tempo, smettendo di funzionare...ed in attesa del nuovo che con la pratica dello sconto in fattura, valutando diversi preventivi, va avanti da tre settimane e minaccia di diventare una "storia infinita" tra venditori che fanno i furbi, installatori non disponibili o con tariffe esose...dimentichiamoci di quello che leggiamo in internet! Premetto che ho due camere e cucina abitabile ed attualmente uso solo la cucina e la camera da letto. La camera da letto è esposta a Nord/Est, la cucina a Sud/Ovest, con balcone verandato che prende sole dalle 11 fino alla sera...nonostante le veneziane in legno, diventa un forno nel pomeriggio, con temperature dalle 30° in sù....ed ora sarà sempre peggio. Apro tutto al mattino presto, poi mi tappo dentro, con finestre /porte a vetri tripli atermici (il mio investimento migliore in assoluto!) e poi accendo il condizionatore, col tubo trai vetri della porta/finestra e serrande abbassate fin giù al tubo...poi chiudo lo spazio aperto tra le porte/finestre con un telone pesante, per far entrare meno aria calda dal balcone... Descrivo queste condizioni/ preparativi perché mi sembrano importanti, poiché non si può giudicare un condizionatore a prescindere dalle condizioni in cui deve funzionare. Detto questo, direi che fa del suo meglio, senza lode né infamia, o forse con un po' di lode, sì, perché impostandolo sui 24° e ventola "low" per ridurre il rumore, e con 36,1° C sul balcone, mi tiene la cucina fresca, con temperatura stabile di 24,4 ° . È stupefacente la stabilità della temperatura, senza fastidiosi "step" in sù o in giù, come si ebbe una volta coi vecchi condizionatori monoblocco! Il "vento" è notevole, però, anche con ventola "low" e quindi conviene orientare le alette verticali verso la direzione opposta di dove si sta. Il rumore e soggettivo: ciò che uno giudica "insopportabile", un altro riterrà "del tutto normale e sopportabile", dipende ...io trovo che sia molto meno rumoroso di quelli tipo monoblocco d'una volta, che sembrarono elicotteri in fase d'atterraggio🤣...insomma ci si può abituare con un po' di buona volontà. Certo è che i monoblocco non saranno mai silenziosi, avendo il motore dentro ed un compressore è pur sempre un compressore...non bisogna pretendere l'impossibile! Il problema è che tendono a diventare sempre più rumorosi con il tempo, onde per cui bisogna fare una manutenzione regolare e scrupolosa, tenere i filtri sempre puliti...ecc. Mi piace molto che la condensa viene evaporata con il tubo dell'aria calda, quindi non occorre vuotare continuamente una tanica - e questo è un grande punto a favore ed una stella in più: la 4a. Nella mia cucina, ora ho 39% di umidita, fantastico! Certo se uno cucina, le cose cambiano, ma miracoli non li fa ancora nessuno ... Il telecomando: dopo due giorni ho cambiato le batterie in quanto non ubidiva più al telecomando sennò a distanza di pochi cm...ma anche con le Duracell non è molto più brillante e certi comandi tipo + o - temperatura..ecc .non li prende da 2-3 m di distanza, mentre altri li devi tentare più volte. Il timer tende a provocare lo spegnimento immediato, appena azionato il tasto "Timer"...Non mi pare granché, questo telecomando, ma i comandi sul condizionatore funzionano tutti - e bene. Compreso il timer. Dimenticavo: tengo la porta della cucina aperta e mi manda un po' di frescolino anche nell'ingresso e nella camera da letto (oposta alla cucina), dove ora, alle 16.30 ho 24,8 ° C, non male per essere, in totale, almeno 40m2 tra cucina, ingresso, camera da letto. Insomma, il piccolo Argo Relax Style fa il suo lavoro...e come dispositivo di emergenza mi fa sopravvivere al caldo, assieme ai tripli vetri atermici e le tapparelle abbassate, condizione indispensabile per ottenere le condizioni di temperatura descritte qui sopra.
