Berberis thunbergii 'Orange Sunrise' Japanese Barberry Potted Garden Shrub (20-30cm (Incl. Pot))

An excellent little plant supplied, healthy and a good size, unlike some of the plants I've bought from other growers in the past ! I recommend this nursery and intend to use them again. Hope they maintain their standards !

The plant arrived a day earlier than its original scheduled delivery which was fine as I was home to receive it. I should have checked the comments better then I may not have been so surprised that the plant which arrived was so small. The plant is only just 15cm high (and the pot 5cm) so it just manages to almost touch the bottom of the scale given (20sm to 30cm) in the description. On the other hand, the plant itself is a very healthy young berberis plant with beautifully rosy leaves (unlike many people here, I am aware that only the mature plants have the golden edge to the leaves) and good roots. I have replanted this in a slightly larger pot straight away and am keeping it to mature a little before I plant it in its final position as it would be overwhelmed by surrounding planting at this small size. Here's hoping that it will still be fine when that planting time arrives!

Arrived quicker than expected. Was well packaged & the plants were in perfect condition.

It’s a very sorry little plant, arrived bone dry in a tiny little pot, with most of its leaves turning brown and dropping off. Have planted it straight out into a nice big pot with lots of compost and given it a good watering. Only time will tell, but I’m not optimistic about it’s chances

The plant received was a weedy and stunted individual with barely any material around the roots. The packaging was poor, and the plant was delivered a day earlier than advised, so spent about four hours in a hot porch. I soaked it and planted it out immediately, and have watched it like a hawk since. The original foliage (only about ten leaves) fell off within a day, but thankfully there are a few green buds now appearing, so I'm going to stick with it and see if we can encourage it back into life. Garden centres ONLY from now on for my plants, even for more unusual or specific species - post is not an option, I'm sorry. Update - sadly this plant has now died, despite my vigilance.

Very sorry looking thing. Looks three quarters dead. Plant is 140mm tall by 70mm wide and not healthy looking at all, brown leaves.

Nice sturdy little shrub. Well packaged & promptly delivered. Doing well in a pot but won’t see the full colour until later in the year.
