Great support for ankle, lower ankle and upper ankle
This product provides total support from the middle of your foot's arch all the way past the ankle about 4 inches up your leg. It keeps your ankle from moving while it heals. It is fully adjustable, so to start of with, don't put it on too tight. Because part of the product involves a "lace up" procedure, it is not a quick off and on. In fact, you may have to remove the entire lace, as I did, and re-lace it yourself from bottom (near toes) to top to get the lace (like a shoe string) even. You may even find that because of swelling in your ankle, you may have to tie the laces before reaching the last set of holes. But that's okay, that does not interfere with the support. To start off with, do not put it on too tight, you do not want to interfere with circulation, you just want to immobilize your ankle and provide support all around the ankle 360 degrees with even pressure (support). You can wear this 24/7. But I would remove the product after a day and take a look at your foot and make sure you have good circulation, color is normal and there is no numbness. As the swelling goes down, it will become necessary to remove the product if it gets loose and re-install from the beginning. I put my unit on over a clean white sock. The unit's material is canvas-like and Velcro so it may rub your skin if you move around during the day without that sock barrier.

Great brace with extra support
I've been having issues at the front of my ankle and needed support for walking. This brace is totally helping! It's really the only choice other than a 'walking' boot. I originally ordered a Medium according to the size chart but it was too big. The Small fits perfectly. I wear a size 9 women's shoe. People say it's complicated to put on, but once you figure it out it's very easy.

Worth a try
I fractured my ankle and after 6 weeks in that heavy boot my doctor told me I can get out of it but needed to buy the Aso brand ankle brace to keep it stable but i saw this one at half the price so i bought both to test out to see if there was a difference. To me this works the same as the Aso brand but better price. I bought both and I didn't notice a difference. The only 2 differences was this one was a little bigger around the ankle and better pricing. But it worked exactly the same so I decided to keep this one at half the price of the Aso. This was worth the purchase. For that price. I went on vacation and it kept my ankle very stable.

Works well!
I have been using a brace that wraps around without the tie or side support. Once I switched to this one with the side support and lace my life has changed. Now to keep it real this thing is not like super comfortable. But the discomfort on other areas of my foot is worth the side of my ankle not feeling like it’s going to break. I suffer from Posterior Tibial Tendonitis and it often feels like my bone is going to crack when I stand after sitting for any amount of time. Now it still hurts with the brace but that extreme feeling of instability and bone cracking is gone. Now like others have said it is bulky. But most heavy duty ones are so I’ve been wearing a slide. But I can wear a shoe like in the photo. You just have to loosen the laces a lot. And don’t expect to feel nothing cause you will be keenly aware that there is this big ole thing on your foot. I did cut some of the Velcro on the sides because I wanted to wear the brace with short socks and it was touching my skin. Just a small amount though. But everything bothers me so it had to go. I got this to use till I can get to my doctor to get a medical grade one. One thing that sucks about this and to be fair I assume any lace up one will have the same issues unless you get the speed lace and that at night or whenever I get home and want to take it off I have to incase it all the way to get my foot out. You know how you can just pop a tennis shoe off. Well not this. It’s a lot of work. But the benefits outweigh any negatives I have experienced. I would say though that if I wasn’t getting one from my doctor I would have gotten a speed lace for the extra money. But this is definitely worth the $18 oh yeah, one more thing. In the photo you will see a wrinkle so to speak. It’s because the side straps are positioned kinda low and to the side instead of the back so they don’t lay down perfectly. Don’t let this bother you. I also wouldn’t take any time trying to flatten it. Just let it lay and you won’t even notice it. It never flattens. At least mine hasn’t. I’ve been wearing it everyday all day for over a week. The laces are nice and long too to get a good tie.

Tight in the midfoot
Unfortunately everyone's foot is a little different, especially if you have something wrong with them that requires an orthotic! I am treating posterior tibial tendon dysfunction (stage 2a) with adult flat foot syndrome, and tarsal tunnel syndrome. I had been using ASO brand which fit beautifully. I decided to try another brand. I found this product was tight around the front of the foot, and eventually my foot started getting numb. The straps seem to wrap under the foot too far forward, more under the arch rather than under the heel (which is where they need to be). Your results may vary. I brought the size XS, recommended for my shoe size and width, and my foot is not swollen. ASO has you measure the ankle around the heel and I wear a size M in that brand. Otherwise it seems to be a sturdily constructed, well made product.

Complicated Design Still Provides Great Support
The velcro straps are tricky to get just right, and must be done in an exact order. Fortunately official and unofficial online videos show exactly what to do. The user guide and pictures don't help much. The lacing must be done before any of the straps. I found it impossible to get my foot in and out, until I left the top 3 eyelets on each side unused. Then my foot would go in & out without too much trouble, while the lacing still provided very good support. If I need more, there's lacing to spare of I'm willing to work harder. Velcro is strong & ought to last at least 12 months with regular use, I estimate.

I've bought these for my son for Christmas. They are exceptional quality at a very good price. My son is still wearing the ones he's had 10 years so although they are a little tatty now they still do the job. Once you've worked out how to put them on, they will really protect your ankle.

This is my 3rd ankle brace attempt since fracturing my ankle. It needs extra support as it's not healing so great. 1st product was a joke, 2nd product was as expected but after a month and a half using it, realized it just wasn't secure enough. THIS PRODUCT is VERY SECURE! Keeps the ankle more or less immobile and tightening the straps doesn't impede circulation/blood flow (unless you tighten the TOP strap too tight). EXCELLENT PRODUCT!!! And the BEST PRICED I've seen for similar products! I am VERY HAPPY with this purchase, and I'm usually not LOL. VERY RARE for me to leave reviews. If you need an ankle brace to (mostly) immobilize the ankle without restricting circulation, this is THE PRODUCT! The ONLY downside so far is skin irritation at the top of the brace, so I'll just have to wear long socks or strap on-top of leggings. Haven't had it for more than a few hours, but will update my review if there's any issues that come up. Otherwise, this is a fantastic product and if you need to (mostly) immobilize the ankle, GET THIS ONE!

The brace is a bit fidly to put on but it provides great support. I have arthritis in my ankle which was quite sore after playing tennis. I wore the brace for the first time and didn't experience any pain. I think the material is good. I bought a more expensive version but had to send it back because it was the wrong size. However, I couldn't see the difference in quality between the two. I was worried it would be too big for my shoe but it fits well.

Would not recommend as heel part is low enough that sporting movement will chafe very badly
