I love this book. The tartes are so tempting—the kind you’d work on all day for very special friends! My first attempt will be the Foret Noire Tarte—it’s just so pretty and, reading the recipe, I can almost taste how delicious it will be! The format of the recipes is no fuss—very concise and clear, and I think some previous baking experience is a good idea. A previous reviewer suggested that there are difficult to find and very expensive ingredients, but I don’t find that to be the case on my initial perusal, though the complexity of the recipes does result in what I agree would result in pretty pricey desserts.
