From birds and cats to vampires and zombies, there's something for everyone - well worth the price
I just started playing Magic this summer, right before Final Fantasy came out. I mostly play online, but I wanted to be able to build some physical decks and play in-person with friends, too. I got the bundles for 4 sets to get some of the really cool new cards, but needed a bunch of filler cards to round out the decks. This item was ideal for that. First, it came with more than 1000 cards - they not only filled the box, they were tucked in around the cardboard separator in the center as well. (The photo is from after I took out the first hundred or so.) The cards were mostly unique -- only 101 duplicates, and only 20 were triples or more. And those weren't even all "true" duplicates. Some were printings from different sets. I got 32 rare, 245 uncommon, and the rest common. The mix of sets was nice, too. By far, the single biggest contributor was Foundations, with 120 cards. But there were 32 cards from Aetherdrift and Innistraad Remastered (2025), 107 from other 2024 releases, and 22 from late 2023 releases making up 281 standard-legal cards. The others were spread across the years, which as a new player, I found fascinating from a historical perspective. The mix of colors was pretty good, too. There were around 190 cards in each color, with green being a little light (only 145) and black being a little heavy (208). The types of cards were a good mix, also, being creature heavy (600) with a sprinkling of non-basic lands (35), the rest being instants, sorceries, enchantments, and artifacts. There was even 1 battle! None of these cards were knock-your-socks-off. In fact, the highest value card was a foil Wharf Infiltrator worth $1. But they were solid cards that are frequently seen in decks I play against online, and exactly what I needed to round out my high-value cards into playable decks. Altogether, Manabox rated the collection as worth $96, much more than the cost so a very good deal.

Good price great quality perfect for a restart or a Jumpstart.
Picked this up bc after about 16 years i wanted to get back into magic. I purchased a few commander precons and a land station but wanted to make my own deck and rebuild a collection. This product was far better than expected i remember way back buying from my local shop the same tyoe of bulk and getting almost half lands and the other half duplicates and not really usuable cards on ontop of that. With this there was very very few duplicates and with only 37 lands all of which where either dual lands or non basic. A good mix of common and uncommon with about 30 rare and a holo mythic with 28 holo mix of common uncommon rare. Where I think the star city box shines though is all cards except like 2 where like fresh out of the pack quality and as shown in the pic the color mix is pretty damn fair. So that being said if your just starting to play or jumping back in after a long time like myself I definitely recommend. Honestly im probably gonna grab another box just because of how varied the cards are even had a good chunk of lord of the rings cards mixed in.

Pleasantly Suprised
I am very pleased with this bulk box. It's both affordable, and worth your wile. It got here way quicker than the box from 4Knights. They guaranteed (I think) 25 foil cards, and I got 28. I didn't count all the cards in the box, but it was stuffed full, to the point where the box was bowing out. I got a very nice variety of cards from all mana types, and quite the collection of legendary creatures aswell. Sets ranged from core set 7 up to the most recent; including cards from Dr. Who, Lotr, and D&D. I was also surprised to find Sliver creature cards from almost all mana types. There were some duplicates, but I only found a max of 3 extra dupes per cards, and they were mostly full arts or alternative prints, so I'm totally cool with that As to why my rating isn't a full 5 stars, we need to go back to how full the box was. It was both a blessing and a curse. Again, I'm very happy with the amount of cards I got, but the cards at the ends of the rows took some hurt. Tho it was stuffed full, somehow in transit, a few cards shifted and got trapped between the edge of the box and the divider insert. They sadly got pretty bent because of this, and some of the other cards warped because of being pressed against the wall of the box for an extended period of time. Over all, I think this is a great bulk box choice for anyone wanting to get into the game. Aside from basic lands, I have enough variety to make multiple mono decks or split decks. Thank you, Star City Games, for making a good value product.

Best Lot Yet!
Full breakdown of the cards I got is listed below- So I have purchased a few lots from different sellers, and this one is by far the best lot that I have ever purchased. I could tell right away by the reviews that this would be worth my money, but after sorting out the cards I realized this is a very worthwhile purchase for variety. The box came with exactly what it described and even a little more! Whether this was a mistake or not, I'm not sure-- but the box I received came with 36 rares in all. 7 foil and 29 non foils (no mythics). I also received over 1200 cards, which is more than the compensation cards they say that come with it. In all, I only saw a few duplicates, only two, three, four or five (rare) of a few cards. All of the cards were in amazing condition- the only sign of age I could see was slight discoloration of the older cards when looking at the edges (save one card with a bent edge). As for lands, the box came with a sealed package of 80 lands- 16 of each. (which is very useful for me, as I don't have enough lands to create many decks). Ratio of cards: The number of older cards to new was pretty good as I saw a wide range of sets. As I said before, I saw barely any duplicates so there was a ton of different cards in the box. I can use a lot of them in my current decks as many of the cards I received were actually good, useful cards. I found only 6 foreign cards in the entire box, so this did not take away from the number at all. See breakdown of cards below for better info- Now as for the shipping- Amazon said it would get to my house by January 3d- January 6th. I received it December 29th, (almost 5 days early!) so I basically got 2 day shipping without choosing it. This is very impressive to me as The shipping was all the way across the US where I've seen similar packages come in after a full week or so. Recommendation: I would recommend this lot to anyone trying to add to basically any sets of cards they have. This lot would definitely work for new players as well, considering it contains enough land to make 2 or 3 bi-colored decks. (monocolored decks would not work with 16 of each color though). Exact breakdown of card types: Total number of cards: 1205 (yeah, this is more compensation than expected) Rare: 36 (7 foil) Uncommon: 160 Common: 1009 Foreign/damaged: 5 , 1 Red- Total: 151 Rare: 7 Uncommon: 16 Common: 128 Creatures: 90 Other spells: 61 Blue- Total: 207 Rare: 9 Uncommon: 28 Common: 176 Creatures: 113 Other spells: 94 Black- Total: 183 Rare: 4 Uncommon: 29 Common: 150 Creatures: 99 Other spells: 70 Green- Total: 173 Rare: 5 Uncommon: 22 Common: 146 Creatures: 99 Other spells: 74 White- Total: 173 Rare: 6 Uncommon: 23 Common: 135 Creatures: 88 Other spells: 76 Multicolored- Total: 56 Rare: 4 Uncommon: 20 Common: 32 Creatures: 37 Other spells: 19 Artifact spells- Total: 64 Rare: 1 Uncommon: 28 Common: 35 Nonbasic lands: 11 Note: I do not play in tournaments and I do not know quite what qualifies cards for being used, but they're all in good enough condition for sure.

Worth the money.
Basically, in short, buy one of these boxes. It's worth the money as you get a wide range of quite playable cards from various releases and with minimal duplicates. Again, in short, this is a perfect way to start or expand a collection. I'm pleased with it enough that I'm purchasing another right after posting this review. Trust me, you won't regret this lot as you would these boxes from other sellers. The box I received contained a total of 1,093 cards. The sets that these cards come from are basically every set from Mercadian Masques up through the recently released Core Set for 2019. I didn't find anything older than Mercadian Masques, which came out in 1999. If you're thinking about value, most of these cards are found for between $0.05 and $0.50 on average. There are a few cards that I received that go for a little more but nothing that sells for more than a couple dollars. Duplicates were actually quite low, having only 2 or 3 of any one particular card. The only occurrence of a particular card having more than 3 copies was with the 4 copies of the artifact destroying instant Shatter. I estimate that duplicates only made up about 15% of the box. This is excellent because nobody wants 100 copies of a wurm creature they'll never even use 1 of. Some other sellers have no problem throwing a ridiculous amount of duplicates in these lots. Here, you basically get what you need and can actually use in deck building. I did receive 3 foreign cards. Still, out of a box that contains over 1,000 random cards, I would say that's not too bad. I included a picture of them, as they're actually quite cool and might lead to me starting a collection of foreign cards. My only complaint is that I didn't receive a single white rare. Variety & Quality
I'm a 31 year old man with a beautiful wife. We both love gaming but feel kinda bad during our gaming sessions while I play PC in the back room and she plays PS in the living room. So we were constantly looking for video games, card games, board games, etc anything to be able to play together. And we live in Turkey, so you can't find any LGS around here and Magic cards are kinda scarce. So don't judge me for my belated acquaintance with Magic:) Ok then, let's cut to the chase. First of all, I knew what I was gonna get before purchasing this item. I mean, you are getting ''thousand'' cards for only couple of bucks. So I didn't have high hopes or anything like that, wasn't expecting mythics and planeswalkers falling out of the box. But this turned out to be quite an awesome starting kit for me and for my wife. Let's go over the most asked questions; -Dublicates? -Well, we found out only 5 cards with 3 dublicates and 10 cards with doubles. (this is actually good and bad at the same time but for noobs like us, it was really important to get as much different card as possible, so we can get the know the game, the lore, the history, etc) It was actually overwhelming to go through almost 800-900 cards (besides lands) but crazy fun at the same time:) -Older cards? -We got 30 40 cards from Prophecy (2000), Nemesis (2000), Invasion (2000), Legions (2003), Mirrodin (2003) and Darksteel (2004). But that's about it and the rest was between Eldritch Moon (2016) and Innistrad (2011) mostly. I mean, yeah, you ain't gonna find any M19 or Dominaria cards in this box because then it wouldn't be this cheap. You cannot make Standard decks but didn't matter to us because Modern and Legacy decks are way to play Magic:) -Rares, Mythics, Legendaries? -There were lots of rares and majority of them are useful ones, which was a huge relief because I was expecting lot more commons and ''not so good'' cards. We also got 2 mythics and 15-16 Legendaries. No Planeswalker unfortunately but I wasn't expecting any, so not a huge bummer:) -Land cards? -About 100 or so basic land cards, 20-25 something dual lands. -Packaging? -I have no idea how did they manage to fit 1000 cards into that small box:) Very robust and compact box, we are definitely gonna use it. -Any bent, twisted, heavily used cards? -No not at all. We could only find 1 single card with some writings on the back. Good luck to you too Ronnie:) whoever or wherever you are. Overall experience; Well, to be honest with you, I wasn't expecting this at all. I mean, this much variety and quality is not something you would expect from a thousand card pack with fairly low price. If you are beginner or you just want to see ''what's all the fuss about'', this is the set you buy. We are having a blast with my wife and trying to learn this amazing game in our 30s for the first time with lots of laugh, lots of joy and lots of fun rivalry:) Blue-Black Control Rules!!!

Know What You're Buying
So... where to begin? Is this a good buy or a bad one? That mostly depends on how you're approaching it. If you're looking for cards, this is a great way to get a bunch of stuff all at once, from a variety of sets. From that perspective, we have some pros: - Very few duplicates. - Relatively even spread between card types and colors, though between the two boxes I bought, white was over-represented by about 10%. - Lots of Legendary creatures to play around with in Commander. Some cons: - some of the cards are are in pretty rough shape. A handful are in what I would call "heavily played" condition. - composition is really weird. Adventures in the Forgotten Realms, War of the Spark, and Ixalan were all heavily over-represented, while other sets are only given a few cards. - When cards do repeat, boy do they repeat. I got six or seven copies of "Evolving Wilds" from five different sets. - Between two boxes, I ended up with 1733 distinct cards out of a total 2,149 cards. Some things to consider: - Not a lot of these cards are what I'd call stellar. There are a lot of everyday workhorses, some good stuff, and a decent amount of meh to bad cards. To be expected in a box like this. Now, if you're looking at this box as a speculative investment, don't. M:tG is a weirdly volatile market, and sometimes cards get valuable, but for the most part per card value is not great. Breaking it down: - 1233 individual commons, with an average between $0.01 and $0.05 - 431 individual Uncommons, with an average value between $0.02 and $0.20 - 59 individual Rares, with average values between $0.19 and $0.62 - 1 Mythic rare, valued between $0.36 and $0.99 - 9 "Specials," with an average value between $0.02 and $0.46 - A total value ranging between $78.00 and $645.00, with an average value between $0.04 and $0.30, depending on where one looks. I used Card Kingdom, Card Hoarder, and TCG Player as resources. Let's be frank though, individually these cards are not hot sellers, they're not exceptionally valuable, and the total value belies the fact that you will never get the listed high values for these cards. If you sell everything, you might break even. I'm not trying to be negative, just realistic. I think people approach boxes like this with the idea that they're going to get super-valuable, expensive cards when you're more likely to get low-value staples.

Great Product and Great Value for the Beginner/Collector
I'll preface this review that I plan to purchase at least three (3) of these boxes in total, but may go with more in the future. So far, I’ve purchased two (2) which I will analyze in detail below. The first two (2) boxes were purchased with about a four (4) week interval between them. This was purely in the hopes of getting boxes that were made from different batches, to minimize the chance for duplicates between them and get more set variety (which is all an assumption on my part, I have no idea how effective this will be, and probably won’t be able to get a large enough sample size to know for sure.) Also keep in mind that I'm a beginning player at the commander format and am interested not only in collecting cards, but also moving myself into the pauper commander format which relies heavily on common rarity cards. This by default makes this particular product appealing since the majority of the box should contain common rarity cards. As advertised, this product is stated that you will receive a Qty of 1000 Cards. 950 Commons/Uncommons, 25 Foils, and 25 Rares. As other reviewers have noted, you will typically receive more than 1000 cards. Box #1: I received a total of 1094 Cards. 739 Commons (13 of which were Foils), 197 Uncommons (9 Foils), 35 Rares (7 Foils), and 0 Mythics. 971 Cards. The remaining 123 Cards I marked as duplicates and decided to donate them to my play group. There are more duplicates I received, but these were typically the same card but from a different set, so from a collector standpoint I kept those duplicates. So in summary, there were 123 Duplicates (11.2%), 739 Commons (67.6%), 197 Uncommons (18%), and 35 Rares (3.2%). Breakdown by Color: White: C = 117, U = 10, R = 4, Duplicate = 19 Blue: C = 123, U = 32, R = 8, Duplicate = 16 Black: C = 132, U = 24, R = 5, Duplicate = 29 Red: C = 119, U = 36, R = 4, Duplicate = 18 Green: C = 123, U = 32, R = 3, Duplicate = 25 Colorless: C = 45, U = 24, R = 1, Duplicate = 9 Multi-Color: C = 19, U = 32, R = 9, Duplicate = 7 Lands: C = 19, U = 7, R = 1, Duplicate = 16 (Note that I kept these duplicate lands and did not count them as part of the 123, can never have too many lands afterall). Breakdown on Type is as follows: 510 Creatures, 71 Enchantments, 164 Instants, 120 Sorceries, 40 Artifacts, and 66 Lands (of the 971 Cards I kept). Market Value: This is a bit sensitive, since market prices fluctuate constantly. I'm willing to say that the Market Value of the 971 cards I kept is just over $90.00 (per TCG Player). Again, keep in mind that these prices fluctuate so please take that with a grain of salt. Box #2: I received a total of 1116 Cards. 543 Commons (14 of which were Foils), 306 Uncommons (9 Foils), 33 Rares (5 Foils), and 0 Mythics. 882 Cards. The remaining 234 Cards I didn’t keep. Of the box, there were 214 Duplicates this time, but I kept 39 because of the value (175 Left). There were an additional 59 Cards that I didn’t keep because they were duplicates of cards I received in box #1. 1116 – 175 = 941. 941 – 59 = 882 Cards kept. So in summary, this was 175 Duplicates (not kept, 15.6%), 543 Commons (48.7%), 306 Uncommons (27.4%), and 33 Rares (3%), and 59 Duplicates of Box #1 (5.3%). Breakdown by Color (I did not count the colors of duplicates, so those figures are left out unlike box #1): White: C = 101, U = 49, R = 6 Blue: C = 112, U = 26, R = 3 Black: C = 79, U = 47, R = 4 Red: C = 101, U = 37, R = 2 Green: C = 37, U = 26, R = 9 Colorless: C = 37, U = 26, R = 2 Multi-Color: C = 18, U = 63, R = 6 Lands: C = 21, U = 14, R = 2 Breakdown by Type for Box #2 is as follows: 467 Creatures, 85 Enchantments, 162 Instants, 82 Sorceries, 47 Artifacts, and 37 Lands. Market Value on Box #2: As my statement for Box #1, please take this with a grain of salt. Current Market Value (per TCGPlayer) is just over $110.00 for the 882 Cards I decided to keep. Overall, I’m very satisfied with the product. I will state however that I was a bit disappointed in how the duplicates played out in box #2. Definitely seemed like there were more duplicates of individual cards (sometimes 3 or 4 copies), with one card having 6 copies which I hadn’t seen at all in box #1. Once I receive and analyze box #3, I will update this review accordingly.
