I recently invested in a heavy-duty paper cutter, and it has proven to be an absolute game-changer for my office and crafting needs. This powerhouse of a tool combines precision, durability, and user-friendly features, making it an indispensable asset for anyone working with large volumes of paper. First and foremost, the cutting precision of this heavy-duty paper cutter is unparalleled. The sharp blade effortlessly glides through stacks of paper with accuracy, leaving clean, straight edges every time. Whether I'm trimming brochures, flyers, or cardstock for my crafting projects, the results are consistently flawless, saving me time and ensuring a professional finish. Creates a Wave from the beginning of the cut
From the start of a cut at the top of the blade this thing will push the material you are trying to cut away from the edge. When this happens there will be an overhanging part of your material over the edge of where its supposed to chop off. Now you would think raising the blade and dropping it back down again will cut that part off, right? Wrong. It will not cut that part off and whats left after you spin it to cut another edge is a uneven cut line. Ive been through 4 different types of guillotines and have realized that not a single one at $80 or less is a good buy. They are all crap. Every single one of them does soemthing to where you cant get a nice evenly cut straight line. At least this one has all of the accuracy towards the bottom half of the blade. You cant use these guillotines by pushing the paper up against the paper guide ar the top like its intended. Nope. You have to place your paper down further and align it with one of the lines as your guide. Also do not cut with one downward motion. You have to give it a starting cut of only a inch or so, draw the blade back upwards and then continue to finish the cut. Otherwise it will try to roll the paper away from the blade. Ive been through a lot of these things and this one is at least really sharp on the edge and the blade. You just have to use the bottom half of of the blade for it to work properly. The other option is to buy a guillotine thats over $100. Even then you might still get stuck with a guillotine that cuts like crap. My next purchase will be a plot cutter. Ive lost faith in all Guillotines after number 4.

Great cutting tool
Cutter works great, my printer doesn’t always pull the paper exactly straight so I use a laser level to get the cut exactly straight.

Reliable
I bought one of these 7 years ago and used it nearly every day. It finally got dull after cutting too much cardboard. I purchased the same one and oooo it is so lovely to have it nice and new again. I use it for my business and it cuts precisely and cleanly

Good quality
I have bought 2 other xacto paper cutters over the last 30yrs, my last 2 the blades ending up getting a rolled edge about the exact same place. I decided to go with the heavy duty one this time. Seems to be well made slices paper with ease and the lock just flips up witch I feel is a much smarter design than my previous one, the handle needed to be pulled to the side slightly on last two which I feel bends the cutter arm over time. The paper guide doesn't lock into place on the knew one which I'm not fond of but all in all I feel this paper cutter is much better designed for the most part.

Decent product with good measurements
Is suppose I expected a wooden product when the title says Wood, however this product is made of MDF. That being said it is sturdy enough. I would recommend this product for the price, however there are a few cons you should be aware of. The plastic hinge is a bit flimsy having a hard time staying extended during use. The blade has a tendency to droop. Certainly not suitable for cutting paper stacks, i would say the maximum density you could cut on this is about 1/8 inch but probably less. The track for the measurement guide is simply bad. Impossible to slide the track to the proper placement and lock it in place like on some other X-Acto models. The guide is difficult to fit into the track and once inserted it is even more difficult to lift out. Probably making it sound worse than it is but the biggest problem is definitely the track and guide, unfortunate because their other product has a decent solution for this that should have been implemented here. Clean cuts if you are only cutting minimal stacks or single sheets of paper. The larger size is its biggest asset.

Firstly, The cutter is perfectly fine. I tried it out and it cuts 3 standard sheets nicely. I have zero issue with it so far. Might update as I slice thicker projects. Really solid investment that I don't regret. X-acto as a company is also stellar, which I'll explain. I have an issue with the fact that it arrived WITHOUT A HANDLE. I bought it 'new condition, box shows signs of opening' from the amazon warehouse, no mention of any potential missing pieces. I assume the warehouse is supposed to inspect any and all returns or open box items to ensure pieces are there. Which you can be assured.... was not the case here. I asked Amazon for a replacement handle, got told No. They told me I was responsible for the return, despite that I'm disabled and cannot easily get into town. I just wanted the handle, as I put my trust that open box, still meant complete. I asked for a partial refund so I could get materials to replace the handle myself since it was not as advertised. They transferred me through 3 different agents before finally agreeing to 10$ back on a 75$ purchase. X-acto the company, on the other hand, extremely cordial and pleasant to deal with. Told them I got it from Amazon and it came without a handle, so would they be so kind as to let me buy just the handle? No purchase necessary, no shipping costs, they simply sent the handle along with a nice note. X-acto are absolute chads. I will certainly buy their brand again.

I bought a cheaper one a few months ago that honestly feels like it could fall apart at any moment. I replaced it with this one and I am so glad I did! The quality is fabulous and worth the money. I love the self sharpening feature. The measurements are correct. Super happy! I would not cut more than one piece of cardstock at a time as I am trying to baby it and also tried a few at the same time to save myself some time and wasn't too keen on the way it cut - could just be user error but love it and will continue to use it. if I need a new one in the future, I will absolutely be buying these brand.
