The Kingfisher Science Encyclopedia (Kingfisher Encyclopedias)

I ordered this for my kids to accompany them through our homeschool science. It has been fantastic for that. It's also enjoyable to flip through and read during free time. It's a great encyclopedia. The topics are categorized really well with accompanying pages included at the bottom so you don't have to try and find topics that go together. Shipping was quick and packaging was done well. The book arrived in perfect condition. Science is not a strength or passion of mine. However, this encyclopedia makes it easy and fun for me. I'm very pleased with this purchase and look forward to more Kingfisher encyclopedias.

This is a very thorough book and includes many pages of interesting information. I just wish I could keep it, but I am giving it as a Christmas gift to my nieces. They are 10 and 7 and love everything about science, chemistry, how things work, etc. Should keep them busy for hours. And will be a great reference tool as they get older.

Buy this book for your grade-schooler. Buy it for your middle-schooler or high-schooler. Buy it for yourself! This book does a great job of breaking down the science that is everywhere around us - and makes it easy to comprehend with clear description and basic illustrations. Great book, great update!

My children have loved this addition to our homeschool library. It has been a life saver for my two boys doing Classical Conversations Challenge A & B. They use it weekly for their research topics. Science is my least favorite topic and thus I felt we needed an encylcopedia to give us a science resource we needed at our fingertips.

This is a great book. Has beautiful color and graphics which makes it interesting to look at. Good easy to follow information. Purchased for my twelve year old and she loves it.

Great to have and use. Includes enough on everything you can think of to get a child going on a subject. Kingfischer makes homeschooling fun as there is a page that explains a concept with enough information that a student can google names, ideas, or topics and spend hours connecting to web pages that enhance the lesson

Very clear scientific explanations, and excellent illustrations. Easy to read, and particularly suitable for children, though adults will enjoy the book too.

Good reference book

Bought this for our 10 year old granddaughter who apparently loves it and spends ages reading through.she uses the internet but finds looking through this more enjoyable.
