I bought this on suggestion of my GP as the wrist BP machine i bought was giving false and misleading readings, whereas this is giving more accurate readings (it's nearer the GP's classic/manual method of stethoscope with the pressure pump blood pressure cuff which they swear by). Easy to set up, you can connect Bluetooth easy as downloading the app, sign into Google account, and press down the 2 buttons on the machine to put it into discovery mode. It logs each reading to my mobile phone via Bluetooth, uses traffic light code to indicate your BP range, and there's even a switch option if someone else needs to check their BP too without their result going onto your readings, and it has a larger cuff option too if you have thicker arms like myself. It might cost a fair bit more than most, but 110% worth it for accuracy and reliability. I should have bought this one in the 1st place and saved myself the hassle and stress when I had record my BP readings for a week for the GP.

I wanted a blood pressure machine that was manufactured by a known brand, as well as having a cuff to fit a larger arm. A machine from another manufacturer on Amazon couldn’t fit my adult male arm! Some of the machines are cheaper, but the cuffs cost ~£15. The machine feels really well made, portable, easy to use (there’s a line on the cuff to align your arm), clear display, two cuffs and memory function. It has a traffic light system on screen that indicates whether the readings are of concern. The device is definitely more expensive, but it is a known quality manufacturer, if you need to buy a large cuff it’s going to be a similar price anyway.

I have fat arms. I mean really fat. This has made sourcing a blood pressure monitor a lot harder than it should have to be. I've had an A&D monitor for several years that mostly did the trick; however, it came with a cuff that was barely big enough for my arm and in fact it was often hit and miss as to whether I'd get a reading. Buying an A&D large cuff should have solved this problem; however despite being "compatible" the machine absolutely refused to inflat the larger cuff. This issue persisted with another generic bran large cuff so I turned to this Braun machine instead, It appears to be accurate, which means that when testing it out the first few times it agreed closely with the A&D monitor. The cuff is larger so more comfortable although it could do with just an extra inch or two. It's easy to operate and the screen is lovely and clear. It comes with a storage bag so is easy to keep dust free and overall I like it. So why have I docked a star? Design and materials. The design of the monitor isn't a wedge shape like most others, which make them supremely stable and easy to store. This is a kind of almost upright L shape which makes the screen very easy to read. However that also makes it quite a lot taller than it perhaps needs to be. But the most disappointing part of this machine is the build quality, especially on the base. The battery cover comes flying off if you so much as look at it. If you're able to keep this out in one place, this shouldn't be a problem; however I've lost count of the times I've had to retrieve the battery cover from the bottom of the storage bag because it's just fallen off. It does have a click sound when properly attached, but the actual fixings are so small that just a light shake will bring the battery cover loose even after it has been firmly clicked in place. This is corner cutting for absolutely no reason that I can see. Apart from that, it's discreet, big screen and easy to read so as much as one can like medical equipment, I'm quite pleased with this.

Best blood pressure monitor I have used. It is extremely quiet, almost silent and reads extremely quickly. I can quite literally fit it in my pocket, which I can’t say about others that I’ve tried. It’s a great device with bang on accuracy and it’s nice that it records readings.

Braun Blutdruckmessgerät mit 2 Oberarmmanschetten unterschiedlicher Größe und Braun App für das Handy. Erforderlich sind 4 AA Batterien, die beiliegen und trotz zahlreicher Messungen lange halten. Speicher für 2 Personen ist vorhanden und speichert die letzten 60 Messwerte. Anzeige von Datum und Uhrzeit, Uhrzeit leider nur im 12-Stunden Format (am/pm). Angezeigt wird neben dem Blutdruck auch der Puls, sowie evtl. auftretende Herzrhythmusstörungen durch ein Symbol. Gemessen wird bereits beim Aufpumpen. Zusätzlich gibt es noch eine Anzeige, ob der Blutdruck im niedrigen, mittleren oder oberen Bereich liegt. Die Messwerte können per Bluetooth in die App geladen werden. In der App gibt es statistische Auswertungen und die Möglichkeit, ein Protokoll zu erzeugen, z. B. zur Mitnahme zum Arzt. Somit kann das Schreiben in einen Blutdruckpass entfallen. Die Messwerte lagen bei einer Vergleichsmessung beim Arzt (klassisch mit Stetoskop) 3 - 5 Punkte unter dem Wert. (Das Gerät, dass ich vorher hatte, lag 3-5 Punkte über dem Wert.) Es läuft zuverlässig und problemlos, der Speicher bleibt auch bei Batteriewechsel erhalten, allerdings muß die Bluetooth - Verbindung neu hergestellt und Datum und Uhrzeit wieder eingestellt werden, wobei Datum und Uhrzeit sich sofort einstellen bei einer Bluetooth-Verbindung mit dem Handy. Dies gilt auch für Sommerzeit. Eine Transporttasche und eine Bedienanleitung sind ebenfalls dabei. Die App erfüllt grundlegende Erfordernisse, könnte sicherlich komfortabler sein und noch optimiert werden. Alles in allem ist es ok.
