Great for crafting, really good quality! Made a bracelet and it looks great.

I guess I didn't pay attention when I was ordering because I was surprised, for some reason, to find out this was nylon when I received it. I am used to working with hemp twine and "rougher" materials when I do macrame. But, since I had it and needed it basically right away, I decided to give it a try. It was the right color (I have it in white) and a good diameter for my purposes, so I figured I didn't have much to lose. I was pleasantly surprised by this. My primary worry about using a material with a slicker surface (as opposed to hemp, jute, etc.) was that the knots wouldn't stay tight. But these did. I could tug a bit on my cords to move knots into position, but they didn't come loose or untie on their own at all. I was also very happy that this didn't kink or tangle as I worked. I added some beads to the bracelet I was making and I did have to use a twisted wire needle to pull this cord through the beads. It is not particularly stiff and the end frayed just a tiny bit (along less than a millimeter of its length as I worked). But, the twisted wire needle solved my problem just fine. Anyway, as it turns out, this was exactly what I needed. I am now a fan of the smoother surface (I don't know if you have ever made macrame jewelry before but hemp is actually quite scratchy in jewelry -- this is not!). It holds knots well and is easy to work with. And I am seeing a lot of possibilities with all the other colors that are available, both for learning new techniques and knots (keeping track of threads would be easier) as well as for decorative effect.

I ordered the .5mm and 1mm with in champagne...sadly they are two entirely different colors. the 1mm is the correct color whole the .5mm appears more of a khaki color. Maybe they colors got mislabeled as the 5mm says champagne. otherwise pleased with the quality

Not sure what makes for 5 star nylon cord, but this worked well for my purposes. It's strong, melts well with heat, and has a nice braided pattern and luster. Also, you get a fair bit of it for the money. Could be cheaper.
