Really Impressed
Pulled some footage the other day as I had captured a funny road rage incident, it was the first time I looked at a recording on a decent screen and the video quality is simply outstanding. The video is crystal-clear, with vivid colors and sharp details that make it easy to identify license plates, road signs, and other important details. The front and rear cameras provided a complete picture of what's happening on the road, with separate video clips, each time stamped with its own audio. Overall amazed at how much better the quality was than my old dash camera, which itself was a class-leading model. I went for the hardwire kit so I could make use of one of the standout features - parking mode. It's reassuring to know that the camera is still recording even when I'm not driving, providing me with protection against vandalism and parking lot scrapes. You can customize the settings to suit your needs, whether you want to record continuously or only when motion is detected. The mobile app is incredibly convenient, allowing me to access the footage captured by the camera from my smartphone or tablet no matter where I am. Installation was a breeze, and the user-friendly interface makes it easy to customize the settings to suit my needs. The Viofo A129 Plus Duo has been incredibly reliable and has given me peace of mind knowing that I'm protected and always prepared for the unexpected. I really can't recommend this enough. If you're in the market for a top-quality dash camera system, this is definitely one to consider. It's worth every penny and has exceeded my expectations in every way possible.

Very good value dashcam
I spent a good few days researching dashcams before settling on this one. It's a vast and quite bewlidering market to explore with many makes / models / features to consider, so I sat down and made a list of what I wanted from a dashcam, it went something like this: 1) Two cameras, 1 front and 1rear 2) Good picture quality, based not just on the quoted advert numbers but by finding the cameras of interest on You Tube and seeing for myself how good / bad the footage was. 3) No Lith Ion battery inside but a capacitor instead. 4) Small and compact. 5) Must be detachable from the windscreen 6) Must have GPS co-ordinates, Time / Date, Speed and the ability to have the Reg Number stamped on recorded footage .... Reg number is handy if you get yours cloned, there's lots of it about now with ULEZ schemes etc going on and it can help prove the car was elsewhere at the time if you get a fine dropping through the letterbox that's not yours. 7) Easy and intuitive to use - I'm a digital Idiot so the easier the better, 8) Must have good user reviews The Viofo A129 Plus Duo ticked all of the above boxes for me so I sent off for one via Amazon and it arrived within 48 hours as stated. I'm not having the hard wire kit yet because I don't want the parking feature until I've discovered how it'll affect the 12v battery. My car's a self charging hybrid and I need to find out if the camera being permanently live will have any adverse effects, so for now it's just plugged into the cigarette lighter. Fitting the camera was a breeze, it was all installed in about 1/2 hour with all the wires hidden from view, apart from where they go into the cameras of course. The supplied cables are plenty long enough for most normal cars I imagine, my car is an average size hatchback (Toyota Corolla) and there was ample to go to the rear camera, in fact there's now a fair bit of excess wire hidden behind the headlining. Setting up the Wi-Fi was really easy as well, so I was soon into the menu putting in the reg number to display on the video footage. Once everything was done I went out for a run. The camera comes on automatically as soon as the car's "Power" button is pressed and the screen lights up in about 10 seconds, it stays on for around 3 mins then goes out so you can forget all about it (it can be set differently in the menu). The two red LEDs remain lit, the left hand one flashes if recording stops for any reason and is accompanied by a "Beeping sound". The other red LED is for the microphone which can be turned off if not required and that light will then go out To say I was impressed with the picture quality of the Viofo would be an understatement, it really is top notch. We'd had a terrific rainstorm before I went out on the test run, but the clouds had parted and the late afternoon sun was directly in front and also reflecting off the wet road. I honestly didn't expect any decent footage at all from that bit, but when I got home and popped the pics onto my PC monitors I was amazed at how well the camera had coped with the harsh light, it was incredible and there was very little lens flare. On the way back home the sun was shining onto the rear camera and that had also coped exceptionally well with it. I use two large photo editing monitors and the videos from both cameras are pin sharp on them. Gripes? Well there aren't many really - so far - apart from maybe Viofo not including a micro SD card in the box, also they don't even appear to be including an SD card reader / adaptor anymore - which they used to do. Not a major problem but just a bit "penny pinching" really, so you will have to budget for buying the SD as well and Viofo spec high class ones which aren't that cheap. I bought a 128gb one for a good price via an Amazon deal which should last best part of a week or two before it overwrites. To sum up - these are simply brilliant little cameras, they're very small and unobtrusive but they feel very well made and for the price they're excellent value. There are some good videos on You Tube on the set up and fitting of the A129 Plus Duo, as well as quite a few video samples. Viofo recommend the SD card is formatted every month, this can be done in situ. I think you can set up a format reminder via a beep on the front cam, I seem to recall seeing it somewhere. I've set a reminder in my phone instead as I'm more likely to see that. The cameras have been fitted for about 2 weeks now but I'll follow up this review in a couple of months to report how they're doing.

Almost perfect
Pros: This camera has great picture quality in the daytime. I haven't checked the night time footage yet. The size is smaller enough not to cause interference or distraction when driving. The pads on the camera stick really well. I used Amazon basics 256gb micro SD card and works well. The camera angle is easy to adjust. I had an accident and the crash detection kicked in and locked the footage. Negatives: It took 2 days to set up during to complications. I had to take a long route to update the software, but the customer support team were great. The app (free) is very poor and much easier to take the camera in than to save through the app. It's a bit difficult to remove the memory card once in. I used Amazon basics 256gb micro SD card and works well. Another problem I found is the camera doesn't like any other charging socket other than the one supplied. Sometimes I have to unplug and reconnect again to get the footage recording again. Only 3 clips came in the box, and needed another 10 for the rear cable and further 3 for the front. Despite the negatives I am going to purchase another camera for my wife's car.

A good camera, quality as expected for the price
Thankfully I've not needed to use the footage yet, but the quality of the footage I've taken off of the camera to test has been good. Some reviews I read said there was choppy video, but the only time I've seen is when my vehicles electronics haven't been fully on (Not hardwired). It's fast to turn on and starts recording almost immediately, with very little startup sequence. Due to the setup of my car I had to put it on the opposite side of the rear view mirror so it wasn't in the way, but it's small enough to fit behind a rear-view mirror if you don't want to the distration, and the design is subtle enough that it's not standing out to other road users, or potential thieves when parked.

Very good option that doesn't break the bank but much better than the cheap tat!!
Currently writing this review after 1 day of use; will update further if anything goes wrong but so far it's great. Picture quality on front camera is brilliant, the 2k at 30fps is plenty smooth enough and captures a lot of detail so if an accident occurred it should easily be able to pick up details of the road and other vehicles. The back camera has a slightly less clear picture as you'd expect being a lower resolution but it's still very capable. I've had another cheap dash cam before that claimed to be full HD but it was nowhere near as clear as this. Wiring this up was a small challenge (using sticky tape to stick the wires to various bits of the interior), there are a few useful stick on cable clips included but could do with a few more being provided. The instructions weren't fully clear as to what was what but good enough to figure out. There were 2 screen protector like films which I presumed you place on your windscreens and then attach the camera on top of those. I found the supplied sticky pads on the cameras used to secure each camera to the film were not great - one of them kept falling down as soon as you'd stick it back up. My solution was to buy some heavy duty Velcro tape and attach some to the screen protector film and the corresponding to the camera; this appears to have held much better and should make it easier to adjust position in future. The cables could have been a bit better designed, they stick out from the tops of the cameras meaning you have to allow room above the camera for the cable - so each camera sits a little lower in the view that I'd have ideally liked but only by an inch or so. Operation seems fairly simple, primarily the cameras turn on when powered up and they start recording instantly but there's various things you can configure such as the timestamp and speedometer stamp on recording (available via the GPS unit on the back of the front camera). I've not really tried out any of the more complex features as my car is usually parked securely on my drive or I'll try to park publicly where there is CCTV, mainly I just want to be covered against the idiotic drivers on the road. All in all I'm pleased with the purchase; far better than the ~£50 camera I bought a few years ago and it's of course great to have front and back coverage. People don't tend to get right up your backside when they notice the camera. Of course sometimes these can even lower your insurance premiums so might end up being a saving in long term (especially if you're involved in accident where the fault is up for debate).

Good blend of price and quality
I'd never heard of this brand before, but after doing a lot of research, I bought this. Picture quality is perfectly acceptable. Good resolution, framerate and low light handling. Yes, you can get better of everything in other cameras, but you will have to pay alot more for it. There is no need to as far as I am concerned. Installation is fairly straightforward if you are reasonably competent in this sort of thing. Every car is different so routing of the cables will be different, but was not a problem for me. Rear camera is hard wired to hard drive so none of this disconnecting silliness you get with a wireless one. All in all, well pleased and glad I didn't spend double the money on a well known brand

Let down by the settings constantly resetting and the memory card files corrupting.
Pros: Very easy to fit. Pads worked with the clear film to put on the window. Cables long enough for a estate vehicle. Instructions are easy to follow. Cons: memory card is from a recognised world leader yet when trying to download from the card directly it corrupts the file. The app to use is ok but won’t let you delete files. You have to reformat the memory card every time you remove it and this also means you have to upload the updated firmware each time. Also the auto record feature is annoying and you end up with 3 seconds videos clogging up the memory. The recording loop keeps resetting itself to 3 minutes. I recommend buying another product as you end up wasting so much time with this one. Damn shame.

Good compromise between quality and price
This is the second A129 I have purchased the first being the single channel version. This dual channel unit is an advance on the first featuring a more recent imaging chip. No real problems with the fitting in a Ford Fiesta apart from routing the rear camera cable through the cars flexible rubber conduits which are really only wide enough for the cars own wiring to the stop light and screen. So ingenuity and patience is required to get the USB connector through without perforating the tube or damaging the USB cable. I recommend purchasing the separate hardwiring kit so as to avoid trailing cables to the cigar lighter socket. There are niggles though, the worst of which is the use of chunky micro USB connectors with unyielding cables which causes the power and read camera sockets to interfere with each other. An option to put these cables into the GPS mounting bracket would make the removal and replacement of the camera unit easy. The other moan concerns the Viofo mobile app which would benefit from some long overdue improvement.
