Replacement erasers hard to find but nice pen n pencil

I bought these to have in my office - I love the look of them and that they are refillable. I will be ordering more to have on my desk for my clients to use.

Good Quality

This review is for the Cross Classic Century Chrome Pen and Pencil set. I'm a long time user of Cross pens, and recently lost the one I've since, I think, 2003. I bought this unit to replace that one, and added in the mechanical pencil since my Pentel Graph Gear 1000 recently broke. The new Cross pen feels a bit lighter than my old one, and the overall feel just isn't as solid. It's hard to give a written description of a product "feel", but those who have had older versions of the Cross pen may understand. The "feel" of the new pen is more like a high quality plastic than metal - probably, I think, due to the weight of the instrument. Had I the older Cross pen I could give a weight in grams for both units, but unfortunately I have no idea where I may have left the older unit. The fit and finish of the pen is fine, no blemishes or tool marks or sharp edges. The writing action is, as far as I can determine, about equal to the older pen; there doesn't seem to have been much of a change in the filler roller balls or ink. The Cross pencil is okay. I have some issues with the retracting of the pencil lead - the tip sticks out after retracting and I have to lightly push the tip against something solid to fully retract it before putting it back in my pocket. I've not used a Cross pencil in years, and so cannot really compare the new unit against an older one. The Pentel Graphic 1000 is a much better instrument, IMO, than the Cross but I wanted to try having a matching pair (pen and pencil). So far the Cross has been, as noted, "okay". The issue with the Pentel is one of longevity; the first one lasted a couple of years or so and the last one broke after four years. I use the pencil more than I use the pen and if the Cross pencil breaks I think I'll replace it with a Pentel, the difference in feel and performance is that wide. As writing instrument sets go the Cross Classic Century is not a high ticket item so I figure it rates 4 stars; not as good, perhaps, as the older Cross pens were but not abysmal, either. I figure it's a step or two up from a Pilot rollerball or a Bic ballpoint and looks better in a dress shirt pocket than either of those options. YMMV. HTH Regards, Jim

I’ve been using Cross products for 45 years. The pen and pencil set are dependable tools I always have counted on. They haven’t changed. That’s why I still buy them.

Really nice pair of pens. Excellent color, very good material, they are smooth as you write. What can you tell about Cross pencils, just QUALITY. The price is really good for a pencil set. Will make an excellent gift for a teacher, father or anyone.

I've always loved Cross pens and pencils since high school and this classic model is luxurious. I ordered these as a replacement since someone "borrowed" mine at the office when I was a lunch one day. I plan on ordering the matching roller ball pen and extra refills (ink and lead) and erasers. Smooth writing, nicely balanced in your hand and ideal for us lefties since the pen writes in many positions. I love my cCross set and they are engraveable Comes in a nice presentation case as well.

Dice que es acabado de cromo, pero no te dice que el material es plástico.. no se siente especial, tengo otra pluma de Cross que se siente de mucho mejor calidad por el peso que tiene del material..

No me arrepiento de comprar dicho producto, estaba en perfectas condiciones y el producto venía en su caja original y muy bien cuidadas

J'utilise ce modèle depuis 30 ans car il est est petit dans la poche et léger . En même temps ce stylo est une légende car utilisé dans l'USAF (voir top gun) Utiliser uniquement des recharges cross car très confortable)

Les stylos Cross Classic se caractérisent par leur finesse, et c’est ce que je recherchais, pour les glisser dans une pochette de petite taille. Leur qualité d’écriture n’est plus à démontrer, mais peut-être vais-je acheter une pointe fine plutôt que moyenne. RAS sur le porte-mines.
