A bit shabby in several areas: Accuracy with 10.000 vdc standard reports 9.93v reports low at 5.000 and 2.500 (.02, 04) PS set for 1.000 DC amps reports 1.36 amps. Control knob pointer is hard to match to the dial function. The knob has to be 'wiggled' to get amp, volt readings.The DC ampmeter zero not functional. I'm keeping the meter in my car trunk for trouble-shooting. I only need to know dead or alive for the car electrics.

This review is for HP-7200-app, a clamp meter with bluetooth connection. To me, bluetooth connection is a must for a clamp meter because you can read the result no matter which direction the meter is facing while clamping on the current wire. Unexpectedly, this meter has a very stable bluetooth connection ( At lease 1 hour without interruptions ). I tested 2 other clamp meters ( they all use the sane app AILINK ), none of them can take data for more than 10 minutes without interruptions . AILINK 's data taking feature is sort of primitive but you can still save data in the spreadsheet format in a specific directory ( android\data\com.pingwang.elink\files\ailink ). However, I have problem accessing this directory in android v13 ( no problem with android v9.5 and earlier ). The clamp meter uses 2 Hall sensors to measure both DC/AC currents. For DC current measurement, you need to zero the reading first. But the zero point is drifting in the range of +- 50mA. Also, it is important to keep the orientation of the meter the same while taking measurements, because the earth's magnetic field can change the reading up to 380mA. Therefore the meter is not accurate for measuring DC currents lower than 1A. For AC current measurements, you don't have these problems, but for current below 1A, the accuracy is still poor. ( 300mA reads 200mA, 500mA reads 400mA, 1A reads 0.96A, 2A read 1.98A ... ). For low current measurements, I suggest to wind the current wire N turns before clamping it ( If it is allowed ), as the reading is N times higher. The temperature measurement uses a K type thermal couple. The accuracy is within 1 degree F at room temperature. Without plugging in the thermal couple, the meter shows the room temperature using the internal compensating sensor. The volt meter's accuracy is within 1%.. There is no auto power off, but the meter beeps ( and LED flashing ) every 15 minutes to remind you that the meter is still on. It uses 2 AAA batteries.
