Middle Schoolers Review Valence (en Español)
1. After playing a whole round of Valence, we found it very fun, not only is it entertaining, you can learn how to create multiple chemical reactions in a cool way, the instructions are clear and tell you all you need to know, and the game even has strategies! It’s easy to understand how to play the game and how to win it, you don’t spend any time trying to figure it out, it comes clearly and easily. Another thing, the game could have more types of game modes (like creating your own rules, etc) so that if you are playing with your friends, you could even play for longer! What could make it better: Add some different types of gameplay so you can play even more rounds. 2. VALENCE.

Very fun to play, super clever, and highly educational!
Highly recommend! The kids (11 and 9) and us adults all love the game! I'm really impressed with the creation of it. Very cleverly made. We all learned a TON about Chemistry in our very first game play (which is saying a lot because I've taken college chemistry). It is definitely a lot of rules to familiarize with at first. But it's worth it! And the instructional video helps some, too. Note to the seller: It feels a little on the expensive side which kept us from buying for over a year. We still probably wouldn't have ever chosen to buy it ourselves, but had a family friend ask what gift they could buy us. So we risked trying it out on someone else's dime. But I'm afraid, for all you get in the physical product, the $25 feels too steep. It's likely edging out a lot of buyers like myself. Consumers expect something like this to top out at $15 (maaaybe $20) max.

Educational and Fun?! That's Crazy!!!
Wow! This game is amazing! I am an elementary school teacher in addition to leading a STEM summer school class for 4th and 5th graders and both the boys and girls in my class cannot get enough of the Valence! It is fairly easy to learn and I even have my 6-year-old son learn how to play in a matter of minutes and ask to play the game every day. The game doesn’t take that long to play so it can be played multiple times over an hour or once if you just have a few minutes to spare. As a teacher and parent, seeing students energized to play an educational card game (rather than with an iPad or video game) with awesome and unique graphics is truly rare. It is hands down the student’s favorite game I have in my STEM class. Better still, the game brings kids together to socialize and discuss science. What game can say that?! It is very simple to carry around and clean up, which is something as a teacher/parent saves time and effort. Be sure to check out the Science Ninja's website where the characters continue to teach science concepts through stories.

Great game that teaches the fundamentals of chemical bonding and ...
Great game that teaches the fundamentals of chemical bonding and reactions without realizing your being taught some pretty cool stuff. My 6-year old, who picked up the rules pretty quick, already knows that the way to knock out a base is to attack it with an acid, and the results will be water and salt. The only issue with the game is a slight need for clarity on what it means to "play" a molecule card like carbon dioxide. We are confused, about when and how that happens, so we have attended our own rules for this to be consistent. Lots of fun overall, with cool artwork and a total play time that keeps all three of my young ones engaged! Thanks for creating this!

We're Talking Elements and Molecule Fun!
This game is very well done and can explain molecules to children in an easy, engaging and fun way! We played as a family from age 9 and up and everyone enjoyed the learning atmosphere, children and adults alike. Visualizing the molecules and how the elements interact by simple math (one negative or positive number per card/per element), for example two cards may say -1 +1 or -2 +2 or even -1,-1 +2 for three card play, all equal to zero or balanced to make a molecule is the perfect way to teach the concept. In addition, learning how to pronounce the names of the molecules when they come together (some chemistry background useful for us) and teaching the names of the completed molecules to younger players is a helpful reinforcement. We watched the video "How to Play Valence" on the internet and seeing this was a good way to show the basic rules. In game playing, we noticed there is an element (no pun intended) of surprise (shhh, helium is quite disruptive:)), or where suddenly one person gets the 10 points needed to win the game after many rounds of play! Playing the game often will certainly add to a child's memory of the element names and the molecules they make and is an excellent way to mentally prepare for science. We love teaching science to our children in an encouraging way and this chemistry game has been and will continue to be a rewarding addition to our science program. Thank you.

Suprisingly fun, fast and easy to play
My 9 year old daughter wants to play this over and over with me. We had no idea chemistry could be this fun. It teaches abstract and mostly boring concept in a very entertaining way. The game is fun even if you are not into chemistry. The illustrations and characters are well done. There are atoms that react and form into molecules, or get broken up by acids or water. The goal is to collect 10 points. It's fast moving and we can generally play a game in 15-20 minutes. Tip: If you are a parent, learn the rules first yourself, then teach your family. It's easier than figuring out the rules with everyone at the table.

My 7yo is into the periodic table right now and I was looking for games on that theme. Slightly priced on the higher end for a card game, but it is quite unique. It's my son's favorite game currently.
