I use these on myself, but they are small enough for a child. They are super cold at first but they warm up after about an hour. They do have a slight scent to them, but not overpowering.

These are effective at making my skin feel cold; good for pain/discomfort relief They don't do too much to reduce core body temperature, though; a wet lukewarm cooling cloth would work better for that. The cooling sensation comes from the menthol and borneol "false-flagging" a cold feeling to receptors in your skin, similar to the "icy" part of IcyHot. They do provide some evaporative cooling, though, in the form of water and glycerin in the hydrogel -- it works sort of like a long-term artificial sweat. It shouldn't be used if you're already sweating; the gel will have trouble sticking and you may make a mess. Be careful to ensure this does not get in your or your child's eyes (they should be old enough that they'll listen when you tell them not to stick their fingers in the gel)! After use, where the gel stuck to should be gently wiped clean, again to ensure it doesn't get in someone's eyes. If it does get in the eyes, just flush thoroughly (gently) with lukewarm water and try not to touch or rub it; it's not poisonous and won't result in long-term vision loss by itself (it's just the rubbing/touching that's the risk).

I highly recommend these! I just got back from a scorching Disneyland trip during a heat wave – over 90° every single day. Both my brother and I have heat sensitivity, and he's on meds that make it even worse. We used these and they were lifesavers! They literally kept our body temps in check. We didn't even break a sweat. We wouldn't have made it without them! Just a heads up, there's a mild smell, so I recommend applying it to areas where you won't notice it much, like my left wrist. I noticed the smell more on my right, so maybe avoid the face or sensitive areas.

VERY strong menthol type odor. I find BeKool to be good and I guess I’ll just pay more. This is just inches from your nose so important.

These cooling strips are much better than the name brand version on the basis that you get more for your money. I’ve been using 4head & for the price you get only 4 strips in each pack. I think they were around £3 a pack? These you get 10! I suffer with menstrual migraines every month & these do actually help as I can get a fever with it & it’s helped me cool down as well as helping with the pain. I will definitely be getting the 20 pack next time. The adhesion of the strips are good, not 100% perfect, but they do stick well if say you’re laying down.
