The "go-to" dual-ply head for recording and live hard drumming styles.
I order these prepacks whenever I see a deal, especially prior to studio recording sessions. The Remo Emperor clear tom head has been my go-to tom head for well over 20 years now. Great durability and good tone. For Rock, Metal, or funk players, this head has a good amount of body, sufficient clarity (depending on shell), and maintains its tuning (even in changing room levels). Substitution - if this head isn't available, try the Evans G2 clear as well. Both maintain good quality and will get the player to excel from the source tonally while in studio or on stage.

If in doubt, start here for toms.
As a drummer for well over 25 years I have tried a variety of heads such as Remo, Aquarian, and Evans. I always come back to these Remo Pinstripe heads, They always deliver the sound I want from my Toms. Every drummer is different and has specific sounds they are going for. I personally like my Toms darker sounding with just the right balance of 'thud' and resonance... not too much of either, so I also use moongels and possibly even a piece of duct tape. I play mainly tom-heavy rock styles, so this is the perspective I'm coming from. Jazz drummers especially will probably go with a much brighter sound but for me, these pinstripes do the trick EVERY TIME. Remember, your choice of resonant head (the drumhead on the bottom...the one you DON'T hit with the stick...) counts for a lot as does your tuning of both top and bottom head. A surprisingly good choice for me was the Remo Ebony resonant (Not pinstripes) head combined with these clear pinstripes on top. The combo looks and sounds great on my kit, and will be my go-to for many years to come, if not always. (You never know, sometimes every drummer gets an experimental bug and tries different heads and tricks to get a different sound.) After replacing my old heads with these (I experimented with Remo Ebony Pinstripes on top, and the non-pinstripe Ebony heads on bottom) but now the sound is perfect with these clear pinstripes and a few moongels. If you don't want to try moongels, (search Amazon for them, they aren't expensive at all) a bit of duct tape is the good old standby. (Yes, duct tape is ugly, but it does work in a pinch, and quite well if you need to muffle/dampen the ring out of your drums. use sparingly.) Anyway, if you're a new or beginning drummer, start with pinstripes. Not for snare though, we are just talking tom toms. If you're an experienced drummer, you've probably tried these already and made up your mind if they are right for you or not. Happy Drumming to anyone in the drumming community, no matter your style or level of experience or skill. Keep playing, it's a great and healthy addiction.

Wow - great sounding heads.
I bought a used d drums kit for $150 a couple years ago. I’ve been slowly replacing the cymbals at my local drum resale shop and just decided to replace the heads. Wow. These sound great, even on a cheap drum set! Totally worth the money. I walked into Guitar Center to buy these, but after waiting for 15 minutes without getting anyone to talk to me, I ordered them on Amazon and had them in 2 days. Totally worth it!

Love these heads. Good value
I've played many brands & head types but keep going back to Remo Pinstripes. I've used them for decades on maple, birch & mahogany sets. Can't beat 'em if you're looking for that deep full sound you get with music needing solid tom accents & fills, from 10" rack toms to 18" floors... from soft to heavy (contemporary worship to rock). They can even make low priced sets sound decent if you take time tuning them right. Not best choice for jazz though imo.

Remo doesn't dissappoint.
I don't know how to describe it, but every time I hit my toms, they sing beautifully with a perfect balance of resonance, tone, and hit. Remo's pinstripe heads are double-ply, so they're more durable than some other drumheads but still maintain a great sustain. Along with not going out of tune often, the heads remain consistent in their performance even when I have brought my set from warmer to cooler areas, and vice-versa. Overall, I highly recommend this product to drummers looking for that sweet tom sound. If it's tuned right, I guarantee these heads will sing.

As always the emperors warm up any kit. I put these clear heads on a birch pearl masters 90s kit and wow, DW tones on a budget! 👌
