The SMA plug is a little too long, but it gets the job done.
When it comes to my baofeng BF-F8HP and my BTECH UV-5X3, the screw-in SMA plug looks like a little too long and does not completely sit all the way on the hand-held. This may not be the case with other brand of hand-helds. Not an issue. I does work properly. Just rememeber not to force to SMA plug all the way in to the hand--held.

Good jumper for a common Ham Radio connection
Problem: My friend, a new Ham Technician, built a J-pole that terminated with an SO-239 connector, but wanted to connect it to her new Yaesu FT-65 HT in order to increase range. Solution: a few feet of RG-8 with PL-259 connectors on each end, and this jumper-adapter. She can hang the J-pole from her porch ceiling or a tree in the backyard, take it to Field Day or wherever, and sit comfortable nearby. I already knew it would do the job, since I used a very similar jumper with my FT-5 and a mobile antenna when I was a new Technician.

Perfect adapter for my HT to Basestation antenna
I bought a handful of these for my radio kit, you just never know. I have been using them for connecting either my mag mount antenna in my truck to my cheapy BF-F8HP or for connecting to my Diamond Base Station antenna during storms. We get no Tornado sirens or any alerts out in our rural area. The really big storm that came though our area, I was able to hook my ht up and listen to it and heard listen to the ARES folks updating conditions and calling out funel clouds on the weather net. When I heard that, I rushed the family to the basement and rehooked up down there and was able to listen... The area took a horrible amount of damage and homes were lost. We were really fortunate and I'm glad I was able to monitor the events as they were occurring and knew when to take cover. Would buy again. Keep a few spares, you never know when you'll want them.
