Product Description Get Ready for Close Encounters of the Scooby Kind! A cosmic case of UFOs, intergalactic intrigue and out-of-this-world romance launches Scooby, Shaggy and the Mystery, Inc. kids into their most unearthly adventure ever! Stranded in a remote desert town, the gang soon discovers the place is crawling with flying saucer buffs, secretive scientists... and less-than-friendly extraterrestrials! Then, after being chased by aliens and beamed aboard a UFO, something even weirder happens to Shaggy and Scooby-- they fall head-over-heels in love! As clues to the mystery of the alien invaders lead them from a top-secret government research base to a huge network of caves hidden under the town, our love-struck heroes join the rest of the gang in a race to crack a case that re-defines the term "far out!" desertcart.com A lot has changed since the original '70s-era gang of Scooby-Doo fans gave way to today's followers of the hipster mystery cartoon series. For one, nowadays kids don't have to wait around for the half-hour Saturday morning show- -they can pick up a copy of Scooby-Doo and the Alien Invaders. All the familiar elements are here; even the groovy green Mystery Machine makes a comeback, but it isn't as reliable as it used to be. At the outset of Alien Invaders, it breaks down, leaving the crime-solving crew stranded in a creepy desert town overrun by aliens. From there, the plot unwinds faster than Scooby can down a box of his namesake snacks. A band of swollen-headed purple and green space guys--Zoinks--send the terrified teens scrambling for cover, but it's not long before the quick-witted gang figures out that there's a team of bad guys behind the bug-eyed masks. That's not to say, though, that real-life aliens aren't also roaming the streets, as Shag and Scoob (who hook up in an unprecedented Scooby-Doo romance with a peace sign-wearing babe and her equally hip dog) discover in the course of clearing out of the phony aliens' hair-raising path. To longtime viewers, the love angle seems unsettling; it steals from the tightness of the mystery team. Still, with so much creepy fun to get caught up in, it's a minor complaint. Scott Innes, the modern-day voice of both Shaggy and Scooby, nails both parts, and Jennifer Love Hewitt fans also will want to tune in--she sings the Scooby theme song. --Tammy La Gorce Review: The old scooby movies are the best! - I love this movie! Entertaining and fun for the kids even though a little odd ;)
My children begged me to buy this movie for them and although it has some parts in it that my kids probably don't need to see... it's still a good movie. I was immediately thrown off because of the different voices by most of the characters but once I was forced to listen to it a few times I adjusted. It's very hard hearing a different voice for Shaggy outside of the two most common voices but the kids didn't even notice. I'm not sure if other kids will think that aliens are real because of this movie, but my kids know that the cartoons are fake. For $5 or $6 this is well worth the entertainment time! The "love" story in it was very weird and out of place but this is an older movie so perhaps that was why it seemed so weird to me. I don't mind the differences between the old shows and the movies and newer shows, though, so if those differences bother you then this movie may not be the best choice. However, if you just like the characters and like to be entertained then this was great for that purpose to us!

Zombie Island for me is my all time favourite Scooby adventure! but what i love about this film in particular is the fact that it goes very much against the grain...so far that it gets very pop cultural and satirical in places. With X Files, Governmental and Science Film references abound! Alien Invaders is really quite an exciting romp that really does demand rewaching several times over! While Zombie Island essentially created the formula for sequels to follow, Alien Invaders goes against the grain and eventually turns it's head on itself come the films tragic climax! what i do love about this film as much as Zombie Island is the feeling we get with the characters, they are very three dimensional and accessible and you really do endure what they experience on screen which is why i very much think that this film is very much a worthy sequel of the film series as it does very much match the definitive blockbuster standards that Zombie Island created. Although i must add, this storyline is more about the wit and the romp rather than the horror and complexity of the plot! which makes Alien Invaders a rather fantastical experience (I am 18 years old) and it's accessible to those of ALL ages! a genuinely fantastic film. 5/5

Far from the best, but this is one of the last good Scooby Doo movies.
