I love these things!!
This thing really works! I got a fabulous Aerogarden for my birthday, which soon resulted in more herbs than I could eat at one time. The basil grows especially fast and taller than the other herbs in the garden and requires lots of pruning. So I decided to try the Herb Savor and am so pleased that it really keeps my herbs fresh. NOTE: it is recommended that basil be kept at room temperature, while most other herbs need refrigeration, so I now have 2 of these. Every few days, I snip another 1/4 inch off the bottom of the stem and pop it back in. My herbs have stayed fresh and firm for at least 2 weeks. I just bought 2 for my mom who also has a very productive Aerogarden. I have never had any problems opening the plastic case (like some previous reviewers.)

Preparation Herb Savor
Wonderful container. I loved it so much I ordered 3 more. Only downsize to it was I had to cut some stuff f my taller herbs so it would fit, like the green onion leaves and asparagus. So it would be nice to be able to get it in multiple heights. It works really well keeping herbs fresh and helps them last a really long time as long as you change out the water occasionally. Have had my green onion leaves in the container for about 2 weeks now and they are still doing well. I love the fact that it is clear and l can see what Herb I have placed in it. It is very easy to use and to refill with fresh water I also like the steel basket that came with it, which makes washing the herbs easy. I would definitely recommend this product.

not practical
while it does do what it claims (for the most part), using this is a nightmare. changing the water every time, opening the box to take herbs... so much work. This is a badly designed product, with a good idea behind it, had it been executed differently it could have been great

A must for cilantro lovers
I love this herb saver for my cilantro!! Unlike a large Mexican family who can easily use a bunch of cilantro in their cooking, I'm just a single woman. Leaving the cilantro in the produce bag, 90% of the time my cilantro would spoil prematurely before I could finish it. Now, it'll last me 10-14 days no problem!! So what cilantro is cheap, $0.33-0.99/bunch. I'm not about wasting food. This product will pay for itself in unwasted cilantro before long and its already paid for itself by keeping me happy wih long lasting cilantro. Unlike bustling downtown areas, it's a hassle for me to visit the grocery store every 2-4 days. This alleviates that problem significantly. I'm happy. It'd be nice if it were a bit taller, but I'm happy.

Works well but requires a bit of work and has some questionable design
This thing works pretty well. It isn't the most spacious thing though. You can only really fit about half a bunch of store bought flat leaf parsley. It recommends that you first wash your herbs, dry them, then put them in the savor to make them last. There is one really bad part which is at the top of the dome in the savor there is this little pi (the math symbol, you know that looks like a T but with two vertical lines kinda like this TT) shaped piece that you need to put on at the top that spaces the holder from the plastic dome. It seems like it'd be really easy to lose this part and then you won't get as tight of a seal. I'm really not sure why they didn't make a little silicone dot or something that would be permanently attached to the plastic and aluminum grate that this straddles. Then there would be nothing to lose and you'd still have your snug, spaced fit. It is also a bit of a pain if you want to store multiple herbs in there to separate them back out. And it recommends that you store basil not in the fridge. I did it anyways and it was alright. Probably didn't last as long as if I hadn't done that.

If you keep your herbs in a glass in the fridge ... get this!
I bought this for my wife, who kept unused herbs in the fridge in a glass of water wrapped in a damp paper towel. Every time we retrieve something we almost knock it over, always in the way. THIS has changed everything! Not only do they keep much longer, but this is slim and tucks out of the way, it's tip resistant, and aesthetically it looks much nicer. One of the most used, most worthwhile kitchen gadgets we own!

Overcomplicated and overpriced
The underlying idea of an herb keeper is simple: herbs stay fresh if their stems are in water. But this device barely accomplishes the task and is difficult to use. And it's too narrow to hold many herbs. Trying to remove herbs from the container takes time and spills water, and then you need to stuff the remaining herbs back in the narrow container. This task is awkward even if you remove the wire mesh inner shell, which seems to have no purpose except to bump up the price. Instead, folks should buy one of the simple devices such as Progressive International Herb Keeper. Half the cost; twice the convenience.
