Works for 2011 Toyota Tundra without JBL
This works for my tundra usb/aux connector below the climate control. It connects from back of stereo to a metal box behind the glove box area. Instructions are to remove glove box but I was able to pull bottom covers below glove box and reach up to connect this. Tight fit but beats pulling all the glove box items out.

Does NOT fit a 2013 Subaru BRZ
This connector does not fit a 2013 Subaru BRZ Limited, despite a number of car configurators/parts validators saying it does. While I know the adapter notes it's for 2010-Up Toyota, the BRZ/FRS/86 is an amalgamation of Toyota and Subaru parts so often Toyota interior parts work on the BRZ. While this adapter may fit an FRS/86 or perhaps even a non-Limited BRZ, it does not fit the 2013 BRZ Limited. I ended up ordering the PAC USB-TY1 adapter and that fit perfectly

Extends the Toyota custom USB wiring and converts to regular USB
Worked perfectly in my 2012 Highlander Hybrid. I replaced the factory navigation system with an aftermarket head-unit, but I wanted to keep the existing Toyota USB/Aux receptacle on the dash. This cable enabled me to connect Toyota receptacle to regular USB socket on rear of new head-unit. As other reviewers have noted, to use this cable, you have to unplug the Toyota cable at its far end, which is tricky to find and then disconnect. The first photo shows the Toyota cable: the left-hand connector plugs into the back of the USB & Aux receptacle. Leave this plugged in. The cable splits into two, with the USB half going to a box just behind the radio (I think this is called the MMI unit). You need to unplug this brown connector (right-hand side of first photo), and plug it into the AX-TOYUSB-2 receptacle (second photo). Clearly, not too hard, but it would be helpful if there were some instructions. I think some of the people who bought this have assumed that it is supposed to plug directly into the Toyota dashboard receptacle.

Not compatable with Regular cab pickups!
Regular cab owners do not buy this. This is not compatable with regular cab Toyotas. The regular cab does not come with the multimedia ecu to plug this into. Please fix your fitment guide.

Perfect fit for Tundras
Worked perfect to keep my Tundra oem usb plug in the dash. People have stated that this adapter does not fit, they are wrong. It does not plug in behind the usb port on dash.. you must take both glove boxes out to find correct location. After glove box is out, look to the left and you will see a small metal box with 3 sets of wires running to it, one is the brown plug you need. Just connect that brown plug with your new adapter, run the other end to your usb port on aftermarket radio! Perfect! Found it on all tundras 2008 through 2015. Check yours before ou buy it, but it works perfectly and I did not have to rig or cut anything...

Easy if you know where to plug in.
Works great. Read the reviews that discribe where to hook this up behind the glove box. No need to remove glove boxes on 2012 Tundra. Just remove the kick panel under the glove box and look up near the center console. The metal box will have the cable connected to it that you need to unplug and then connect to new Metra cable.

It’s okay
IS NOT COMPATIBLE with factory 2013 Toyota Sequoia USB/AUX w/o JBL/Navigation. Update. After reading other peoples reviews, I discovered that IT IS compatible. However, you have to remove the glove box and air bag to get to the point it’s supposed to plug in to. Only giving this three stars because even though it works, there are zero instructions on how to install this thing. As noted above I had to read other peoples reviews for instructions. Also, I don’t know why it can’t simply plug into the factory USB port/factory wiring harness. This would make it much easier and far less time-consuming and frustrating.
