Perfect for students to follow along w/incubator!
We hatched 13 baby chicks for a homeschooling lesson and since my girls couldn't touch the eggs when we candled them these were perfect for them to feel more hands on in learning process. Quite honestly I was disappointed that my kids were not as excited as I hoped about candling our real eggs but when I bought this educational resource they got so much more excited about the whole learning experience. They couldn't wait to open each egg and see what happens next & then they practiced sequencing after they were all opened. We bought a how do chickens grow book to read along with this and it made it even more exciting for them. The details inside the eggs and the aspect of them being able to actually look inside an egg to see what's happening made this experience come to life for them as I believe when we candled our real eggs they couldn't really tell what they were looking at but they could with these plastic eggs. The illustrations inside these eggs are so detailed that I feel like it really helped my kids make the connections when they looked back at our candled eggs. Great buy for a unit study. Definitely recommend! Great quality and pictures are numbered too which was helpful to put them back in order.

Great for Incubation Unit
Used this in my classroom during our incubation unit. The kids loved seeing the daily stages of the eggs. My son also took it to his school to use during their incubation unit and they all loved it as well. Pictures and colors are great. Fun activity for kids. Easy to use and very durable. Great value for your money and the size is perfect.

MUST BUY for teachers!
DO NOT WAIT, BUY THIS FABULOUS Chicken Life Cycle “kit” NOW! As a Kindergarten teacher who often purchases items to enhance & focus on student engagement, this is a must have! I was beyond impressed with the materials included: poster of day to day growth of the chicken with corresponding EGGS! The eggs open with a matching picture of the growth of the chick. My students LOVED this & were thoroughly invested and learned so much more because of the FABULOUS learning kit! I hope the company makes other life cycle kits! Oh, other teachers were amazed & quite impressed with the quality as well!

So awesome!!
These are so much fun. I use them when incubating chicken eggs to show my class. The kids love opening the eggs daily to see what it should look like in side. It is a great learning resource and I use it every year.

Not what I thought
So sometimes I don't read things correctly because I thought this was a poster, not 21 part set of eggs with diagrams. Not complaining mind you, using this with my pre-k and k students, this probably works far better. It gives a wonderful image for each day in the growth steps and is fantastic if hatching eggs along side it. "Look this is what it looks like today inside" without opening and disturbing the incubation. Kids love it, as a teacher I appreciate it simplistic but effective way if shows development. The kids LOVE when they open day number 21 and the little chick pops out.

Perfect for little hands!
I used this material in my Montessori school and it was a very popular choice during our work sessions. We were incubating chicken eggs at the time and this gave the children an idea of what was going on inside. I added number cards to the work so that the children could first put the number cards in sequence (which they're used to doing) and then match the life-cycle eggs with the cards. This made it very easy for the children to create the correct numerical sequence. The numbers on the life-cycle eggs are quiet small for me but didn't seem to be an issue for the children. I would love to see more work like this available from Learning Resources!

We love this! We are incubating eggs and I bought ...
We love this! We are incubating eggs and I bought this so the kids could see how the eggs develop. I was hoping it would keep them from messing with the incubator and it has. We keep it right next to the incubator and open an egg a day. That being said, I bought this when it was on sale and paid less than $15. I would not have been happy if I paid much more than that. It doesn't come with much and it is just stickers on plastic eggs. The chick in the last egg looks nothing like a real chick, but its still fun. I think it's pretty obvious from the picture that it's not realistic. So, great product if you know what to expect and can get it pretty cheap.

Most detailed life cycle model I've seen
This is the most detailed life cycle toy I have been able to find. Most of the toys I've stumbled upon are 3-5 stages at the most. I love that the eggs can be opened to look at the different stages and the pictures are very detailed and realistic. My only complaint of the product is the non-realistic looking chick that comes out of egg 21. However, I think that may just be me being picky about an otherwise AWESOME product. One eggs was a little hard to open and close, but after working with it a bit it's easier. My son (20 months) LOVES this toy and spends a lot of time taking the eggs out of the box, returning them to the box, opening them, and pretending to crack and cook them (a little morbid, but he doesn't get the relationship between the chicks growing inside eggs yet. To him an egg is an egg, and they're his favorite food). This is a toy that can be used for many years. I was lucky and got it at an awesome price, but I think it's worth full price too. You really can't find a better life cycle model.
