Not really, it’s too shallow for that. I think an empty fish tank would serve you better.

Can this be used for candles?

I suppose it could, the slant might be a bit of a challenge as it might catch that black residue from the lit candles. But if you’re thoughtful in the arrangement of the candles, it could look pretty cool.

Sorry, I should rephrase my question - can this glass withstand a fair amount of heat? I want to make a custom candle inside this bowl (pour wax)

You can definitely try, but it's not Pyrex. It is a heavy glass bowl, though, and would make a lovely candle. But, my thoughts are that prolonged heat would weaken the walls. Try a bit of internet research on the effect of a natural flame on glass that hasn't been tempered. My feeling is that ultimately it might crack. Maybe contact the vendor - WGV.
