Applying gel nail polish can be a daunting task but it's much easier than it seems. We've put a step by step guide together to make applying gel polish as simple as possible. Follow the steps below for perfect gel nail polish application. step 1: File your nails to the desired length and shape.step 2: Gently buff the nails with the pink side of the buffer until all the shine is removed. step 3: Wash your nails with washing up liquid to remove any oils (if the nail remains shiny, repeat the buffing and cleansing steps)step 4: cleanse your nails using Sensationail gel cleanser then apply Sensationail gel primer and air dry for a few seconds (it will stay tacky)step 5: Apply one coat of Sensationail Top & Base Coat to your nail, including capping the nail by running the brush horizontally across the tip. I followed the application instructions yet within a week I had the paint peel off. Also, the pink polish was incredibly transparent and a bit gooey and did not look anything like the picture. Very disappointed as I bought this due to a recommendation. Review: I read several reviews of this product and was a bit skeptical of purchasing it. My daughter always paints her nails and immediately picks it off because of chips. I hoped that this would prevent the chipping and save her nails. I ended up using it more than she has and I love it! ADVICE/TIPS --- use ample primer and there won't be any chipping. (this is challenging because of the small brush, but very important!) Skimp, or skip this step and you will get chips or the entire nail coat will peel off. I have worn the polish for more than three weeks at a time without any chips. (you can see the area where the nail grew out on the attached picture of three week old polish) --- you can use any brand of gel polish and the light even helps regular polish to dry faster. --- yes, you can use this with regular nail polish. Use the primer, the clear coat, then regular polish, then the clear coat again. It isn't quite as shiny or thick as the gel, but it still lasts several weeks and gives you more color choices. --- this particular kit is nice because the light plugs into either a computer (it has a USB port) or regular outlet. Great if you don't want to have to sit on the floor or search for an extension cord. -.-.-.-.-.- DRAWBACKS -- This polish is almost impossible to remove without damaging the nail! This is like removing artificial nails every time you change polish, which is why I wait at least three weeks between changes. Take my advice... go buy the scraper tool. It helps a lot, but it is still very difficult and if you have long nails, like me, you will likely break or damage the tips. Keep nail glue handy. -,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,- Even once cured this remains VERY sticky. If you have pets, are around sweaters or blankets, or anything else with loose fibers, you will end up with fuzzy nails very quickly. The kit advises using the cleaning cloths and solution, but when you try, you get fibers from that cloth stuck on your nails. SOLUTION... apply a thin coat of regular clear coat (non-UV/gel) over it. You can also dip quickly in acetone polish remover, but this makes the nails slightly spongy. I hope this is helpful, I have had this product for six months now and done a lot of experimenting with it. Essentially, I wish I had bought it sooner!
