Best gaming laptop and the best price I could find on internet.
This is first time in my life I am reviewing something and also the first time in my life I order something online over a $1000 value, and also the first time I order something from Amazon and have no regret, I got my order 12 days before the promising time, so huge thanks to Amazon my machine is all good and I am happy with your service. I have nothing to say about Helios 300 because I did my 6 months research before getting this machine so all good, highly recommend to those who have a little small budget. Thank you for reading this long review :)

Great value for money!
This laptop performs great, i7 and 1660Ti can handle all latest titles on 1080p MAX settings. The system heats up a bit but that is common in most gaming laptops. 256 SSD is small but additional 1TB SSD would only cost 380AED on average. Got it from Amazon UAE in a very good deal, I am happy with it!

Bang for the Buck gaming LAPTOP
My unit arrived 15 days earlier than I expected. This is my first month of using my Acer Predator Helios 300 which amaze me every single day because of its aesthetic and it's performance are quite impressive. Most of my games are running in ultra settings without any problem or lags, those games are NBA2K20, Dota 2 and CS GO, It runs very smooth also while doing some video editing in adobe premiere pro. I really like the display and the response time seems legit (3ms). I am also thankful because my unit doesn't have any screen bleeding. This is my dream, to have a machine that will not limit you to play almost all games and will not limit your imagination in video editing. When my unit arrived, 1st thing I checked is the screen bleeding because this is the common issues raised in the comment section, (luckily mine doesn't have), then i checked the System information, after that I tested all the ports of the laptop and all of the ports are working properly except the Ethernet (LAN Port), the common RJ45 cable is not entering on the port which leads me to buy a dongle (USB to Ethernet Adapter). But despite of having that one issue I can summarized this review as a satisfied customer and it exceeds my expectations. This is really a BANG FOR THE BUCK, This is 100% recommendable.

Excelente producto. Teclado en inglés. La caja de Acer me llegó como un poco maltratada pero al parecer es la original. Ha funcionado sin problemas ya por meses es un excelente equipo para jugar y enciende más rápido que una mac book del mismo precio.

Version Purchased: 16GB i7-9750H with GeForce RTX 2060 and 512GB NVMe SSD Initial thoughts: Packaging was quite nice and secure. Felt the laptop was very well protected. Ports: 3x USB 3.1 Gen 1 1x USB 3.1 Gen 2 (USB-C) - Not Thunderbolt 3 1x Headset Port 1x Gigabit Ethernet Port 1x MiniDV Port 1x HDMI 2.0 Port Graphics: When you first use the laptop, please be advised that games and such will likely default to the Integrated graphics card. I didn't realize this and when testing it in Modded MC RLCraft with Optifine, Max Quality, and Shaders I was only getting between 50-90FPS. Once I changed Nvidia Control Panel to make the RTX2060 the default processor, it jumped up to almost 240FPS. Memory: While I got the 16GB Model I plan on Upgrading to 32GB when Budget allows for it. (Or 64 if/when there is a firmware update, as many MFG's do down the line) [TURBO]: Preset hard-button above keyboard that changes to "Extreme" Overclocking, according to Predator Sense. Didn't notice a difference in CPU? Maybe it is a GPU boost? Either way, it definitely overclocked the twin built-in fans. LED Back-lit Keyboard: While I cannot say for older models, This keyboard is NOT JUST BLUE. In Predator Sense you can change the color of the keyboard in Zones, or apply a lighting effect. As you will see in the video review, I changed mine to purple. Battery Life: Still not adequately tested. I am still updating and installing common software that I use for Development, Work, as well as gaming, so I know it will be about a week until the system is balanced enough to get a decent reading on the battery. That, and Windows itself has already done 2 updates. Productivity: AutoDesk Revit 2018 Runs like a dream on here! Opened a decent sized project I was working on and was able to do a High-Quality Render of a cut section in about 8 Minutes, sync back to the central model in 45 seconds, and then close the model. Maneuvering in 3D with this laptop is a dream, even compared to my workstation. The High CPU Speed really helps since Revit sadly still relies on single-core high speed CPU threads. I would definitely recommend this laptop for CAD/Revit Productivity. Webcam Note: If you are not paying attention, when you first get this machine you will notice that your webcam randomly will turn on... Particularly once you plug in a set of headphones. No... you are not being spied on, this time anyway. This is due to "Waves MaxxAudio" "Waves nX" using the "Sweetspot" feature. It is trying to give you a relative audio experience based on where the computer "Sees" you siting , and can simply be turned off. Keyboard: I specifically chose this laptop over the 500 Series because of the 10-Key layout. In addition to Electrical Work in Revit, I also do programming and reporting. Having access to a 10-Key is a huge boon to me. Typing in general on this keyboard feels natural and didn't require much transitional learning from my Microsoft Surface Book Gen 1. Trackpad: Overall the trackpad is nice, but it is a trackpad. Get a mouse, and turn off touchpad functionality when the mouse is connected and save yourself a lot of heartache. Fan: For everyday use, the fan is fine. If you enable Turbo though, be sure to have a good pair of Noise Canceling Headphones and hopefully have a room/office to yourself. It is quite loud and obnoxious. Additional Notes: I have noticed that there are keyboard protectors for this laptop, and I fully plan on getting it to protect the Chiclet keyboard long term. With the upgradability that this laptop has, I see it lasting many years to come. Also... For some, I know it is called a laptop... Please don't use this on your lap. The way the airflow is designed you could seriously damage it, or yourself if you do. I have seen temperatures reach 180 degrees on this laptop already. If you want to use it in a portable fashion, get yourself a nice lap mat that encourages airflow. This is more like a mini Desktop Replacement with how powerful it is.

This laptop has amazing performance for its cost, played games at ultra settings for hours and the laptop barely felt a tad bit warm. The only cons of this laptop I had so far, 1) On turbo mode, the fan noise is significantly loud. 2) On battery life, it lasted a mere 2 hours while doing normal tasks.

Granted I've only had this laptop in my possession for a couple of days, but so far I like it a lot. Gaming on a 15.6" screen will take some getting used to. (My previous gaming laptops were ASUS ROG models with 17 inch screens, and my desktop has a 27" monitor.) but the picture quality is the best I've seen. The Predator has some great components with the 9th gen i7 processor, the Nvidia 1660 Ti GPU, 16 GB of RAM and an NVMe SSD. The SSD is 256 GB so I added a Seagate Firecuda 2TB hybrid drive for an additional expense of $80. In addition, the Killer networking hardware/software seems to work very well. That's the good. The bad is that it comes with Windows 10 (but what's a practical alternative?), and Microsoft is very aggressive in pushing its services. It can be difficult if not impossible to remove them. I make my own choices for browser, search engine, email clients, etc, but when I removed Edge I got notifications every time I started up on my startup screen pushing Edge and not once but twice. ( I think and hope I finally removed it. I'm not a fan of advertising, and I don't trust Microsoft.) And I'm not willing to trust "the cloud", so Dropbox and cloud storage were refused. I've downloaded several games onto the hybrid drive but only played Destiny 2 for about an hour and a half and a little of Age of Wonders III. As I said the graphical quality is the best I've seen, but Destiny 2 did freeze after I'd been playing for an hour or so which I assume was due to the GPU overheating (and I do use a notebook cooler), but I'm also assuming there are things I can do to prevent this in the future. For one thing, the game was optimized by the Nvidia GeForce Experience software and I'll have to look at their selections. I should also adjust the fan speeds, but I haven't looked into this yet either. So, if I should have to amend this review (and recommendation) in the future I will do so, but so far I'm very impressed with what Acer has provided and at what cost. I gave battery life and camera quality three stars because the laptop will always be plugged in, and I'll rarely if ever use the camera (though from what I've seen in YouTube reviews the image quality is certainly IMO acceptable for ordinary uses). Update: On the day after I wrote this review, I played some Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Dragon Age: Inquisition, WOW, Alpha Centauri and more Destiny 2. GeForce Experience optimized the games at ultra quality. I tinkered with the fan settings setting them slightly higher than standard (about 4000-4200 rpms and will fine adjust this more). The games looked great and played well without any problem. The fans did make some noise, but it's a whoosh and not a whine, and for me not terribly intrusive. As I said, I'll adjust the fan speed some more and may be able to reduce it even further. The speakers by the way are great with excellent sound quality and volume for a laptop. The fan noise never interfered with the sound at my settings. Again, well done, Acer. Two months later, and I'm still very impressed with this computer. I installed the new Crytek Neon Noir Ray Tracing Benchmark for ray-tracing effects without an RTX gpu, ran it fullscreen at 1920x1080 and ultra and got a score of 5529 with very fluid playback and frame rates that varied from about 45 to the upper 70s. The benchmark would seem to be quite the workout for a system and the Acer got a commendable result IMO.
