Let the color cartridge run out and just leave it in there. The black cartridge will work fine if you select Print in Grey Scale.

is this ink cartridge compatible with canon MG4150 printer?

Do you mean the Pixma MG4120? I don’t see a MG4150 in my lists. The 35 is for a mobile printer. So, no I don’t think it will fit. You need a PG-240XXL cartridge. If you still have an old cartridge you can buy ink and refill when you can’t find replacements. But, I see the cartridge you’re looking for on the Internet still.
