Surprisingly good.
So I already had an office chair mat that technically did the job, but I really didn't like how it indented when you stopped moving, which would make it hard to reposition myself due to my chair being sunk into the mat. So when this mat went on sale, I thought I would just try it out and see if it was an improvement over my current one. The mat came packaged in a box and rolled up. Just like the other reviews say, the unboxing process does need some care due to the mat having a lot of tension when you remove the packaging. I did notice that the edges were pretty raw and looks like they were just cut from a roll, but definitely not so sharp that I needed to be careful. My older mat definitely had a nicer machined edge than this one. When I placed this one down next to my original mat, I was immediately skeptical because touching it, I could already tell that this new one was slightly thinner and more flexible in my hand. Regardless, I still switched it out for a proper test drive. I pulled my chair back on it, sat down, waited a moment, and then repositioned myself... and I rolled perfectly smooth without any indentation resistance! I was pleasantly surprised to see that even though this material is technically thinner, I think it has more rigidness to resist chair wheels sinking in. Visually, the mat has a "crystallized" texture that makes it shimmer, but still maintains a clear transparency without being foggy or frosted. The back side has knobs that hold the mat against carpet. I did see reviews that complained about cracking so I will keep an eye out for durability and update this review if I have any issues. So far, I am extremely happy because I've tried a couple mats and this was undoubtedly the best option considering price, quality, and performance. So far, so good!

Last one lasted 5+ years!
I work from home and put in a lot of hours. Not your 40 hour week, for sure. I just replaced this same mat that I had for I think 5-6 years. Maybe even 7. It's awesome and happy it comes in a large size as I have an L shape desk so I roll around in a relatively large space. This Floortex mat is really a very stury, heavy duty made matt. Well worth the money as I tried spending less and my chair sinks in it and it's hard to roll around quickly and eventually they gave out way too early.

Still moves forward on the carpet
Good and sturdy. No dents in the pad so the chair glides easily across the pad. Still moves on the carpet an inch or in a few hours and that is on a middle of the line carpet thickness, disappointed with that. Durability unknown, only time will tell.

Good for light use, but not for serious every day use
Bought one of these back in Jan 2025. It is now Dec 2025 (just short of 1 year) and through this year of use, the mat has cracked around 20-30 times. Lots of breaks, pieces are sticking up from it, ect. Picture doesn't do it justice, but you can see quite a few of the cracks and breaks. I have a nice executive office chair, weighs around 50 lbs or so, and i weigh 250lbs, so around 300 lbs for me and the chair combined. The mat was a nice size, covering the carpet between the two desks. The mat constantly slides around on the carpet (carpet is standard length and standard plush, not thin and not thick like a shag carpet). even putting 20 and 30 lb dumbbells on the mat to try and hold it in place isn't enough and it still pivots and slides around. might have held up better for standard 10lb office chairs and a skinny 100 lb person, but definitely not designed for every day use, all day in my office. Company boasts durability, but severely disappointed with this mat's durability.

Fantastic mat
Exactly what I needed for my computer chair and desk. I use my computer a lot and I have plenty of room to go from desk other areas to get files and other items needed. Hard to find this size and opens flat which is another plus.

Not up to snuff
After initially purchasing a different floor mat that 'sagged' (from a different company) and then doing a LOT more research, we landed on buying one of the FloorTex mats. It seemed like it would be a solid, unbreakable mat when it arrived, but about a week ago, it cracked in the middle of the mat (less than 90 days after we received it). The crack is about 6 inches long. FloorTex does offer a limited lifetime warranty, but note: the warranty terms stipulate that they'll only cover "1 replacement per product purchased" and "a shipping and handling fee will be charged for all warranty replacements". Also, "Floortex reserves the right to request damaged chairmats be returned to the factory for inspection before sending replacement product." So not only are we looking at the mat not living up to expectations within the first 90 days, but then we're also looking at having to pay additional shipping and handling costs AND being without a mat for however long it takes for the turnaround after sending a defective one back... but there is ALSO the outright inconvenience in terms of time and effort dealing with all of this. Needless to say, I'm not particularly fond of the idea that we should have to pay an additional shipping cost for a mat that was touted as, "The ultimate in quality, clarity and durability for home and office flooring" so soon after we began using it - and ours doesn't even get used but maybe 30 hours a week - tops. We'll see what Floortex comes back with, as I just submitted an email on this, but after leaving a really good review here initially, our tune has definitely changed.
