Great product!
I have been using this product for at least a year now, and the quality and price point for me are perfect. I usually mix it into 8 oz of apple juice to improve palatability, but I like that it is organic, unadulterated psyllium husk powder vs Metamucil, which has a bunch of additives. I agree with other reviewers that it tastes like dirt (somehow, my wife can handle it just mixing it in water), but I'm not drinking it for flavor. I will say, though, that to help remove some graininess and clumps, it helps to use an electric small frother wand and then drink immediately. It helps keep me regular and reduces bloating/digestive upset for me.

It’s a solid product
I am a nutrition couch and healthy nutrition is very important for me. I make my bread at home and I’ve been using this psyllium husk powder for a while now, and it’s been working really well for me. I mainly got it to help with digestion, and I’ve definitely noticed things feel more regular. One thing to keep in mind is to start with a small amount if you’re new to it and drink plenty of water — otherwise it can feel a bit too thick.

Easy to Use Baking Staple
Because I bake gluten free most of the time, I am always looking for ways to add a little more fiber to recipes. This psyllium husk powder is very finely ground and mixes easily into batters and doughs. I usually replace a small portion of the flour in muffins or quick breads, and it blends in without changing the flavor. It also helps give gluten free baking a bit more structure, which can be helpful when working with almond or other grain free flours. It has become one of those quiet pantry ingredients that ends up in a lot of my regular baking.

Quickly dissolves, palatable flavor
This psyllium husk powder is a cost-effective option with a texture that dissolves quickly. I find that using a milk frother helps with mixing, though you have to be careful as small chunks can occasionally gum up the tip. The powder becomes viscous very quickly once added to liquid, making it a bit of a race to drink it before it fully coagulates as the instructions suggest. The flavor is manageable, though there is a slight plastic-like taste that (IMHO) is more noticeable when mixed with plain water than with a flavored drink. Most importantly, it has been effective for digestion and maintaining regularity. I am giving it four stars because it performs exactly as intended for a reasonable price, despite the minor flavoring and mixing quirks.

Great Organic Psyllium Husk Powder
This Psyllium Husk Powder is non-flavored. Just the psyllium husk grounded into fine powder. Good because unlike other products: it does not have the artificial orange flavor. Sugar-free version is not that great either. Plus, it has the fiber benefit too.

Takes some getting used to
I bought Viva Naturals Organic Psyllium Husk Powder because I'm out of unsweetened, unflavored Metamucil and need some psyllium husk powder for regularity. I am an average American, not a person concerned about organic this or nature that; this purchase was made for convenience and price point. This product is NOT like Metamucil. It's far more finely milled, so it's basically like a reasonably fine powder, whereas Metamucil is more a coarse powder. It's in an obnoxious zipper bag which will not rezip due to too much powder being caught in the zipper tracks, so you have to be sure to store it away from any sources of humidity, meaning the kitchen, near bathrooms, etc. It also does not travel through a funnel very easily, so it was hard to transfer it into a better container. The way I use it is to pre-measure a cup of water, add a little flavoring, and then put a heaping teaspoon of it in the cup. I stir it very briskly for a good while and then I drink it very quickly. It takes more stirring than Metamucil and it clumps A LOT more than Metamucil. I think I would need a blender to get the clumps out, but fortunately they're fairly small. If you drink this immediately after stirring, it doesn't have time to set. However, because it is a fine powder and it does clump, I end up with micro-clumps of it left over in my mouth in the cracks between my teeth. This stuff tastes like raw wheat without the slightly sweet flavor wheat can have, which makes it fairly unpalatable to American tastes. I would not try this stuff without flavoring until I'd gotten used to the texture. It is not a joy to consume this, but it is over pretty quickly and only leaves a mild aftertaste after you wash your mouth out post-drinking it. And it does work, which is the point of taking it in the first place. However, you want to brush your teeth before bedtime if you use this stuff or you will hate life in the morning. Basically, this product is not a delight and the packaging needs some rethinking, but if your goal is to be regular, it does the job. The benefits barely outweigh the concerns.

Good intestinal ruffage
The best Psyllium I have ever tried. Reduces inflammation and cravings. Good quality. For best results, add powder first then the water and mix well. I love it.

Great stuff! Came next day.
Don’t be afraid to use. I took a Tablespoon to 8 oz coffee mug with cold water mixed with a fork, I don’t panic rush to drink it because the powder is so fine, I just mix it for a few seconds and drink it. I was constipated for a good week before drinking it and it worked moved my bowels effectively. No smell, no aftertaste, ease of use. **added later: its sealed pouch isn’t sealing because the glue was so ineffective one side of the seal became totally undone—last night I just noticed this so I put the entire package into a gallon ziplock bag to store. So I’m giving it 4 instead of 5 stars. Otherwise great value, the color is as depicted, great daily if you need. It’s keeping me regular without giving me cramps or diarrhea. **added later: I put a tablespoon in my chocolate whey protein shake with about 8 oz or more of water and left in the fridge overnight. I’m loving it it’s like drinking a loose chocolate pudding very filling.
