It's cheap so you get what you pay for, did struggle through connecting it with the main wifi by using xiaomis app, keep in mind it'll use the host wifi's name

Great Product
This works really well, i use it in our back yard to extend the wifi range when the door is closed. simply position the device so that it has line of sight to the Main Router (Work through Glass Doors/Windows). We watch 4K TV outside whilst using 3 devices no problem. Xiaomi is a top Brand

Everything about it is good, except that you have to download an app to set it up, you can't do it through a link or a web browser like you usually would in other brands, still worth the price

El repetidor se puede conectar a redes WPA2 KTIP o WPA2 AES (incluso el modo mixto KTIP/AES) PERO La red que emite el propio repetidor NO PUEDE CONFIGURARSE PARA USAR WPA2 AES. Esto es una IMPORTANTE falla de seguridad. Hoy en día el cifrado WPA2 TKIP o WPA2 KTIP/AES (modo mixto) no es seguro. Puede ser hackeado con relativa facilidad. Si deseas la máxima seguridad en tu red, evita este dispositivo. Por lo demás: bien. Espero que esta observación sea de utilidad..

Great little extender. Do not expect to get your full speed out of it - this is an extender. It's connected to your "main" wifi router, so if that signal is bad, the ping and upload/download speeds will be too. Mine is around 5 meters away from the main router with two fairly thin walls between it and the main router. I get 20-25 mbit/s up- and download (I have 100/100 mbit/s) when standing next to the extender, and around 10 mbit/s up- and download when standing outside the house (brick house), around 8-10 meters from it. I mainly use this for communication with my smart devices that are not in range of the main router, and since it's a 2,4GHz band extender it does the job perfectly. I am however also able to stream full HD content to my phone anywhere on the front lawn as well, so that's a nice plus. Installation is very simple via the Mi Home app, I really don't think anybody would struggle with it. Looks wise it's quite small and sleek. It's one of those devices you install and forget as it can be controlled via the app, and the firmware updates are automatic. If you need to extend the signal and the ping and speeds aren't your main concern, I would say that this extender is perfect for the job. Couldn't recommend it more personally.
