Are the handles plastic?

The handles are fabric. These bags are very sturdy. I am ordering more. Family and friends keep swiping mine because they are so good.

I am looking for heavy bags.. the ones i've seen are os lightweight. want something that will hold up to lots of use. are the thick or thin canvas ?

I consider these to be heavy duty bags. My husband carries large whole watermelons from the car to the house in them and they hold up just fine. Quality fabric, sturdy straps, and reinforced bottoms make a great product.

What is "canvas like material?

It’s similar to a tote bag, has a textured feel.the inside has a reflective lining. It does not have a hard board like material between the outer “canvas like” material and the reflective lining. It does seem very durable ( only had a couple of weeks) but holds quite a bit of groceries and very easy to fill and carry. Does have a hard board reflective covered piece that easily lays in bottom and stands up so bag can be folded and stored. This piece also allows the bag to become a box so it stands open for filling and prevents sagging when carrying. The straps are comfortable on your shoulder. Hope this helps.

These are amazing bags but definitely not machine washable. I ruined mine after sticking them in a washing machine after a camping trip. It turned into a lumpy soggy mess. It's definitely cardboard.

Outstanding workmanship. Very sturdy. Can be stacked. Use for grocery shopping and transporting other items like clothes, toys, etc. Has a fold up hard bottom and fold nicely, storing the 2 in 1. I purchased 2 sets of 6.
