Plugable USB 3.0 to HDMI Video Graphics Adapter – DisplayLink Certified for Multiple Monitors up to 2560x1440 – External USB to HDMI Adapter Compatible with Windows 11, 10, 7, XP, and macOS

I'm using Linux Mint and a 12 year old Lenovo ThinkPad. I wanted to add a 2nd monitor to my desk space. In order to make use of my existing hardware, I used Plugable USB 3.0 HDMI Video Graphics adapter / DisplayLink. This allowed me to use the native DisplayLink port and route it to this ASUS monitor. I also wrote a review on setting up my 2nd monitor using a USB hub by StarTech. Look for that one for the completed set up. Plugable is especially known in the Linux community and works well with this operating system. Mint recognized it right off. The only downside (and it's not the fault of Plugable) is that my laptop doesn't support the maximum resolution of this monitor. So, the value is actually in the connectivity, ease of setup and the reputation and quality of this adapter. Worked great right out of the box.

Literally, plug and play on my windows 11 work machine. I wfh. I have a microsoft surface laptop with only one USB A port, no docking station. So I have to use a USB extender with multiple ports to plug in my mouse and keyboard, which left no room on the laptop to plug in the USB to HDMI converter. A regular USB extender doesn't work for HDMI as it is not meant for video. I learned that the hard way. This converter plugs into my USB extender which is plugged into my laptop. I didn't have to install a driver, and it seems to work perfectly. I use both the stand alone monitor and laptop monitor when working. Well worth the cost for me.

This device (UGA-2KHDMI) worked perfectly to add a third distinctly independent monitor to my Surface Pro 6 with docking station, running Windows 11. Initially, I lost audio when all three monitors were connected. This was easily corrected by going to Settings, Sounds, and then clicking the box to select the Surface's internal speakers (RealTek High Definition Audio (SST). Other than this one setting adjustment, this was a plug-and-play install and a great consumer experience. Well done, Plugable.

Solved problem! Bought a new laptop and didn’t realize it wouldn’t support two monitors. I asked ChatGPT for suggestions and it recommended this device and it worked like a charm. Just plugged in and I’m now back to two monitors and with my laptop display that makes three. Highly recommend!!

This Product is rightly recommended by most who have purchased it as it was instantly recognized by Windows 10 and was setup and working (providing an extra 1080p monitor outlet) in less than 3 minutes. I enjoyed seamless performance on the extended screen (which I used as an extra / second desktop in Windows 10). The only problem is that I was unable to playback full-screen video on the extended screen. When I attempt to do so, it freezes my computer. This may be due to a configuration problem. I'm not sure. Thus, unless I attempt to play full-screen video with this device it performs flawlessly. I use the main display to play video and the extended display (which is powered by this device) for all other computer functions which work perfectly on it. The item did not get hot. The picture quality was wonderful 1080p without any choppiness, lag, or other visible problems.

Great product to create a virtual desk, easy to install, MacOs compatible. The video quality is pretty solid.

A Strong 5 so far. Just worked following instructions, though, slight miss match in included quick start and on screen, no pop up actually saying plug in device now. switched to longer hdmi cable to get where wanted it. did not work, switched back to original short hdmi cable and worked. and worked on different usb A ports. so check your cables, that cable did work direct to monitor just not through the plugable box. not all cables good enough to use on some devices.

After trying three different USB to HDMI connectors from various places (online and local), I finally found a product that does justice to setup of Multiple monitors connected to a laptop. Only downside is arrival takes time. Would be great if seller kept items ready in local warehouse for faster shipping. Rest, no complaints. Working the way it should.

I wanted to connect a second external monitor to my Asus laptop. The only way to do it (my USB-C port does not support video) was to connect an adapter from my USB 3.2 port to the HDMI input of the second monitor. This product does the job perfectly. It was easy to install and works great. The only other thing I needed was a basic HDMI cable to go from the adapter output to the monitor's HDMI input. I am very satisfied. The image quality on the second monitor is excellent with no lag.

it's definitely plug and play on my Windows 10 PC, no manual driver installation needed at all, although when I first plug it in, it took around half a minute wait time for the screen to come on, might be the backend auto installation of drivers. for PCs that only have 2 video outputs, this definitely is a great solution if u just need a 3rd screen for productivity. so instead of needing to buy a GPU to add more video outs, this is a good budget option.

別の商品で間欠的に接続が切れていたので、こちらの製品を試してみました。 当初は、同じように間欠的に接続が切れたり、完全にブラック画面になっていました。 しかし、USB接続は、Windows11に認識されており、デバイスとしての認識も問題ありませんでした。 モニタへの表示だけがおかしい状態でしたので、HDMIケーブルを交換したところ正常に動作しましました。ケーブルが5年以上使っていたものだったので、劣化していたのかもしれません。
