Darker leads
I love darker leads. For some reason they make me happy!

Seems to get the job done.
I mean, it is pencil lead, but it works and that is what I needed!

basically just pencil refill
Nothing fancy, nothing unique, and certainly not something that is odd. It is, after all, just your basic run of the mill, mechanical pencil refill. This one happens to be for the most common size of refill (0.5mm). The hardness, however, was not up to par. It says 2H, which is supposed to be 'artistic' hard, but was more like a simple "H" or even an "HB" A little softer than what you would expect, then again refills from a major supplier, cannot be picky. For what I intend to use it for the 2H standard is not what I needed. Well, it was what I needed, but not THIS soft. So, for me, literally, it is back to the drawing board and get a 'TRUE" 2H somewhere else, Or, use this brand and upgrade to a 3H or harder. For the casual user looking to replace the lead (and this is not pure lead it is a polymer with lead composite), this will work. If you use you pencil for technical applications requiring precise finish, and are particular on what the final product looks like (smudges, etc.) this may not be the one you use, or if it is, get a harder (3H or even a 4H) refill. Harder to find, but they do make them. Generally, in a regular pencil, I'd use it.

5 stars but not for me
I purchased 2H leads and 2B leads at the same time. H - stands for Hard. B - Stands for Black. Based on the quality of this product, 2H Lead Refills, I had to give these lead refills 5 stars. I wish that they all came in one tube instead of three but I guess if you work at multiple locations then it could be a benefit. Pros: Very strong - never really break. Lines are easily erased. Feels like writing with a pen rather than a pencil. Cons: Lines are very very light. (Keep in mind this is only a con because of my preference, you may want very very light lines, in which case it would be a pro.)

The Best
Have used this type of leads since the early 70's and will continue to do so. They are the best, as they come in different hardness. My favorite is hardness "B", as it provides as smooth writing and a dark color withy minimal applied pressure.

Excellent for when you need lead a little darker than HB No 2
Ghost nice darker lines than HP. You have to get used to it because it's a little softer so it breaks easier.

Excellent quality (HB)
I bought these to replace the leads that came with a pencil - these are nice leads, just the right amount of softness and doesn't smudge as easily as the #2s. Haven't had any breakage yet, and I've been extending the leads a bit further out than I should for drawing.

Breaks easily and it wasn't even what I ordered (2B instead of 2H). There are better brands

Pentel Super Hi-Polymer, an excellent choice. Higher price however, the lead doesn't break at every writing stage. Very happy.

Bought as a refill for Graphgear 1000 .5mm. The pencil won't feed these at all.
