WWII US M1911 / 1911 .45 Wooden Grips - Reproduction

I have a m1911 rock island arms fs these are great grips but they need a little knife work to fit properly no problem for me but need a bit of work to fit right but all in all after a little work they look great and work great

Exactly as advertised and a very nice color and design.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. It does not fit onto a Colt 1911. The right side fits fine but the left side sits crooked if you are willing to do a little whittling to even get it on. The left side does not sit flush and will not allow the pistol to operate because the manufacturer forgot that a 1911 has top of the line technology from the 19th century called a slide release. I thought maybe its just the brand, nae nae, low and behold my Wilson Combat 1911 also uses this "slide release". This is ultimately the fault of John Moses Browning, some say he was before his time, but even he could not foresee Bubba with his CNC machine.

This was just the touch my 1911 needed. Good fit, great appearance, perfect adds a very personal touch to my firearm. I have received many compliments, l am very satisfied with my purchase.

I got a pair of the veritas equitas ones. 4.5 / 5 stars. Cool idea and wood seems decent quality. Do not expect perfection, these are not showroom grips. Mine was missing a few pieces of material removal around the words. Came with a few dings and the finish was extremely uneven. Honestly looks like a middle school shop kid finished it. Just sloppy blotchy finish. I put them on my Italian made Chiappa 1911 and the fit is PERFECT. I used both thumbs to carefully but firmly push them into the screw studs. No wiggle. Better to be tight than too loose…. The biggest issue I have with these are the type of finish. It STINKS like a new cheap leather belt. It feels wet still, kind of tacky. And it makes your hands stink after handling it. I washed them with soap and water and then cleaned them off with 91% alcohol which helped some but not a lot. I will likely use a very fine grit sandpaper and just sand them down a tiny bit to remove some of the finish. I’d rather get them raw and do a BLO or other oil finish myself than whatever cheap junk they splashed over them. I do not regret buying them. They are cheap, fit great and look cool. Could easily be 5/5 with a few changes.

I am writing this with hesitation because the product came in a timely manner, packaging was great with company info and you can tell they care about their customers getting a great product. However there was some issues with the way my grips sat in line with the safety and slide. I saw that it needed to be modified to fit and with my stubborness and eagerness to put on my 1911, i ended up cracking one of my grips. 10000% my fault. I should have returned and not made the attempt, explained the situation. Seller is great, however check product specs before install.

These grip scales are amazing. Sharp detail and finished right. Screw holes are a little shallow on reset so you might have to go a little deeper with a drill bit, but other than that, the are amazing. Seller is also amazing. Sent the wrong scales, but quickly replaced with the correct ones. No hassles. Quick to respond to messages and very polite.

These grips are magnificently beautiful but did not fit my Garsin 1911, it took 2 hours of gentle and careful work with drummel to realign the holes for the screws from the inside. Grips were too tall and definitely did not fit the ambidextrous thumb safety nor did it have the capability to adapt the right side safety lever extension. 2 hours of precarious work to make it work. Good idea to have at hand a set of screws with large head in case the holes are slightly larger… although I put in the time to make it work, I would NOT buy it again.. to stressful. The carving machine spins at several thousand rpm’s and easily eats wood… unless you are willing to throw the grips away, don’t try to make it fit..

Toll verarbeitet - Löcher stimmten überein, musste am Griff nur paar kleine Schleifarbeiten zur Passgenauigkeit beim Schlitten durchführen. Denke, dass das damit zu tun hat, dass ich kein Original Colt habe, sondern eine Nachahmung. Bei Bedarf sehr gerne wieder

Unica cosa da far notare è che essendo prodotte per un arma vera e non a gas, l'articolo , per un corretto montaggio, necessita di una modifica nella parte interna per poter ricavare l'ingombro della bomboletta di gas che viene alloggiata nel calcio dell'arma. 5 minuti di dremell e tutto si risolve.
