After a couple of tries it just worked, like magic. I was struggling to get a rounded out oil drain plug off, and nothing was working, the bolt was basically a circle. Ordered this set, tried it once and it couldn’t latch. Then after badly dremel’ing the bolt, and having zero luck with several vice grips and hammering sockets onto the bolt, tried this socket with the impact wrench and it was off in seconds. Saved an expensive and embarrassing trip to the mechanics.

I am very pleased with this product and I would highly recommend it to others.

This is the sort of tool that you should have in your toolbox because it comes in handy for all sorts of situations. First off, these two sockets will cover almost any nut or bolt you ever come across, and since there are only two, you won’t waste time looking for the exact fit. These sockets not only fit hex nuts and bolts but also other shapes as well, such as hoops, hooks, etc. They are also brilliant in that they can fit a nut at an angle, so if you can’t get a compete hold of a nut, or bolt, but can fit it at an angle, you can get enough grip to screw or unscrew the nut or bolt in stages. The only provisos to the above though is that the rims are a little wider than on a standard socket, so you need to have enough clearance around the nut or bolt, especially if you are using the larger sized socket. I have used these type of sockets before, but on some of them, the pins didn’t lock properly and twisted out of the housing so became useless. These sockets are superb and the pins stayed in place, even when using the larger one with a torque wrench. The adapters are also handy if you want to use a quick release holder, power tool, and so on. This is an easy 5 stars for these universal sockets and I am more than happy to recommend them. You may not use them often, but you’ll be glad you have them when you need them.

Great tool even though universal sockets all look alike I was impressed with how well this was put together. when I started to use these 20 years ago they only had the little one and now it's great that they have one that is huge. the larger one actually is huge and within reason these two could tackle any bolt or nut out there. I find that tedious to try and figure out whether a bolt is SAE metric and what actually fits for sockets
