Size 8 1/2 mens what size do i get?

A men's shoe size 8.5 will fit a men's medium.

Do you cut the straps to size? i got this boot yesterday (love it), and want to make sure i'm doing the straps right, can't find the youtube video

I do not have a video but I don't see why you could not. However, I would be careful that you do not cut it too short - the velcro would probably pop off if there is not enough.
