Nice hammer that "feels right"
I'm not a carpenter, but I have - and use - several different hammers for various jobs around the house as well as occasional minor building projects.I have hammers that have wooden handles and metal handles, hammers that weigh the same as this one and ones that weigh more, and hammers with smooth faces and hammers with cross-hatch faces. They all have their place, but the first thing I noticed about this hammer when compared to the rest is that it just "feels right", i.e. the combination of weight and the ergonomics of the handle make it work well for me.Most of my favorite long-handled tools (shovels, axes, hoes, etc) also have fiberglass handles, so I am not surprised that I like this one.It looks like this is a new line of tools from Black & Decker, a company (now just a brand) that has not previously been known for hand tools. My hammer did not come in any kind of box or packaging, and there is absolutely no other markings on the hammer itself other than "Black+Decker" in 2 places, along with "450g/16oz" on the head, but at its price point it very likely was made in China (unfortunately), because a nice US-made hammer such as an Estwing would cost at least twice as much.

It's a good basic general hammer.
This is the hammer that should be in your tool bag in the house. This is a really general use smooth flat headed hammer. 16oz is good for any of your basic needs. I would feel fine keeping this inside for general use when you need to just grab one; but I wouldn't use it any more frequently than that. The hammer is a 2-piece construction so the actual striking top half isn't full tang through the handle. It seems to be glued to the handle but not all the way to the base. So I would be concerned with more heavy use causing the pieces to split. It's still worth 5 stars though because coupled with the price and the quality in terms of a hammer for around the house odd-jobs this is a good solid choice.

Nice upgrade
I've been using my girlfriend's hammer she got from her ex-husband for 12 years. Finally I have my own hammer!Review for: BLACK+DECKER BDHT54003 16oz Fiberglass HammerPros=nice hole at the end of the handle to hang the hammer up on a nail or a hook=nice grip. I got a plastic covered hammer the other day and I was really wanting one like this instead.=feels perfect when you grip it and whack with it=nice orange coloring to have it stand out vs. other tools or objects=It tells me 450g/16 oz on the side of the head, whatever that means. Valuable info I'm sure.Happy to add it to my toolbox

Great shock absorption and great balance
I found this to be a solid, sturdy, well-made hammer. It is well balanced, which makes it a pleasure to use and greatly reduces the risk of smashed thumbs. The biggest plus, though, is the shock absorption this offers. Much better for my wrist and elbow. Certainly not just another hammer. But that’s JustMe. (I received this product in exchange for an honest review, and that is what I have offered here.)

Nice hammer, but still prefer my older Stanley
Overall this is a decent fiberglass handled claw hammer with good balance and reasonable grip. The head looks good, but has a much higher curve/attack angle on the claw side than my Stanley hammer. There are times that can be good and others that it's too much. My older wood handled hammers have the larger angle and I never use them to try to pull a nail. The fiberglass handle can hopefully handle the added stress. Overall I'd say it depends on the price point as to whether I'd get this over another option, but I don't think you can go too wrong with it as far as quality and function.

Nice quality
I am very happy with this hammer from Black and Decker. It's solid and well made, nice and heavy and perfect for use around the house. I'm a female who previously had one of those pink lady hammers, but it was rather cheap. I decided to get my own grown up hammer, lol. This is comfortable to hold and great for all the little jobs I like to do myself. It has a handy hole for hanging, so it's easy to hang or keep in a tool box. I certainly don't know much about tools, but this is just fine for me.

Great for home use but not a framing hammer.
This hammer is great for around the house. This isn’t your framing hammer by no means but does have a good weight and feel to it which makes it great for a DIY type of people. I would most definitely recommend.I hope that you was able to find this review helpful in some way and if so it would be awesome if you could tap that helpful icon below. Thank you so much.
