I am giving this seller 5 stars for their great customer support. The first drive I received did not work, the driver installation failed for Windows 7, 10, and 11. It would show up in my list of USB devices but did not show up as a hard drive in either of the OS I previously listed. I submitted a return request which was immediately approved and they sent me a new drive a few days later. The new drive works perfectly.

After 1 year of little to no use I began putting photos on this drive. A few days later I plugged it in again and I now receive a notice saying the disk is corrupt and read-only. I have over 10tb of media on the drive so now I need to buy another drive to clear this one and re-format. This hasn't happened to me with any other drives.

Didn’t dislike anything. It’s exactly as expected. I have a couple of them to perform backups of faster drives. They are large enough to hold 4 dated backups of files which are duplicated on the two backup drives. Monthly, I make a fresh backup and swap it with the other backup drive in my safety deposit box. So, at all times I have 4 months of backup versions offsite and 4 on-site waiting for me to remove the oldest backup and make a new backup. Then swap again to safety deposit box. Works great.

I recently purchased a LaCie hard drive, and it turned out to be one of the most frustrating and disappointing experiences I've had with any tech product. This hard drive failed me utterly within just 10 days of purchase, during a critical phase of my thesis film project in India, where it served as my primary storage device. The nightmare began when the drive died unexpectedly, jeopardizing my entire project. Hoping for a solution, I sent it back for data recovery. Seagate, the parent company, initially assured me that everything was recovered and sent me a drive with the supposed recovered data. To my dismay, a staggering 5TB of crucial data was missing. When I contacted customer service to address this significant loss, the response was a series of confusing and contradictory statements spread over months. Initially, I was informed that the original drive had been scrapped, making any further recovery impossible. Later, in an unexpected turn, they sent back my original drive in its damaged condition. The situation was exacerbated by their refusal to replace the faulty product with a new drive. The lack of consistent and transparent communication from Seagate's customer service only added to the frustration and distress caused by the initial product failure. This experience has not only caused immense stress and inconvenience but also put a severe dent in my project timeline and budget. The reliability of a hard drive is paramount, especially for those in the creative industry where data is our most valuable asset. Unfortunately, the LaCie hard drive and the subsequent service from Seagate have been deeply unsatisfactory. I strongly advise potential buyers to consider other, more reliable options for their storage needs.

il prodotto è in metallo ed è pesante, ha una ventola di raffreddamento silenziosa e comunque sotto stress non scalda mai. la connession usb è stabile senza errori sia in usb 3.0 3.1 3.2 con vari tipi di cavi provati di alta qualità. il cavo fornito è di alta qualità e non occorre sostituirlo. il led blue nasconde sotto il tasto di accensione se necesario e comunque lampeggia quando scrive cosa ottima. la velocità di scrittura media è 255mb/s e non degrata, il test è su file iso quindi senza truffe di compressione cache o altri giochini che inventano i produttori per falsificare i test. il disco va usato verticalmente, ma la base è cosi solida e stabile che non c'è rischio di farlo cadere di lato. Attualmente non trovo altri prodotti capaci di sostituirlo proprio per la funziona del case che tiene il disco e del controller interno.
