Good product. well made. Will purchase again.
Excellent soil modifier. Lightweight, holds many times it weight in water, and makes hard soils less dense. I also use this with equal parts of Perlite as a medium to root cuttings. Works great. Buying in a big bag like this is a great value!

Good quality and value
No complaints about this vermiculite. The sizing is pretty uniform, and there was minimal dust. It comes in a sturdy sack and is packaged well for transit. A good value provided you catch it on a price dip.

Excellent
This will help build drought tolerance for lawns and landscapes. Perfect particle size for lawns. Core aerate lawns in the fall, and apply this (slightly moistened) with a drop spreader, top dress with quality top soil, and water in thoroughly. This was the best price, quality, and value I could find either locally or online.

Great value for the money, great quality.
I try to make all of my potting soil and use this Vermiculite in every batch. Great quality and price. I wet it down slightly to cut down on the dust that any vermiculite will produce, and it mixes well with the peat and compost. If I need to get a truck load of garden soil, I always add vermiculite into the soil while filling up the raised bed. The plants love it!

Light weight, aerates the soil, improves drainage, and helps to keep soil moist.
I have been growing almost all of our veggies and herbs in my basement under LED lights for over 7 years. Although I use an excellent potting soil that contains perlite, humus, etc., most plants do better in a loamy soil. By definition, loamy soil contains sand. I tried adding sand to a couple of pots, and it very much increased the weight of the pots. In addition, most sand you can find is to fine to be of any help for drainage or aeration. Vermiculite serves the same purpose as sand, but is much lighter in weight. Initially, I was buying 30 quart bags of vermiculite at a cost of $37, but I grow so much it was getting very expensive to use. I found this 103 quart bag of medium vermiculite for about $10 more, so I decided to try it. This vermiculite comes in a huge bag, and will last me for a while. This vermiculite is very clean, but finer than what I had been using. So, I decided to buy a bag of the same size in course and mix them. This has been working out very well, and my plants seem to be happier. I hope this review was helpful for you.

Great For Rasied Beds - Cheaper Than Perlite
Whether you use Mel's mix or someone else's, this is great for using in raised beds. Vermiculite got a bad rap due to asbestos contamination from Libby, Montana. They stopped mining there in the 1990s.

It's a finer vermiculite that I expected
Good price on a bulk bag of vermiculite which I use to start seedlings for my spring garden. The reason for a 4☆ rating is that it's a finer grain than what I expected.

Way better value than tiny bags
It was well worth spending extra to get this mammoth sized bag. It will likely last me 2 seasons. The quality is great. Very light weight and easy to move. The texture of the product is exactly what I needed. It is easy to dispense in my soil mix and also makes a light weight mulch that seedlings can easily sprout through. The drainage It provides helps keep soil from stayingnsoggy. My garden is growing great.
