Good Faeries/Bad Faeries

I got this for my next-door neighbor not having Prime service. The book arrived before schedule. Upon looking at the book it was put together very well. The hardcover was thick and the pages were top material. There were many drawings and pictures that were deep in color and very clear. The book was great to look at and had wonderful colors and the placement of the writing was outstanding. Also explaining about the Faery world was very informative. Anyone into this material I suggest to buy this book, plus it had a great price for the well making of this book.

This is a beautiful book and a great gift for young and old interested in the subject. The book is beautifully illustrated as well. It arrived very quickly. I'm very very happy with this purchase.

Ah yes, Good Faeries/Bad Faeries by the ever-enchanted Brian Froud — a marvellously whimsical tome that’s rather like opening an ancient wardrobe and being smacked in the face with glitter, mischief, and otherworldly gossip. One simply cannot peruse this volume without suspecting one’s tea has been spiked with something from the Other Realm. The illustrations are, in a word, exquisite — as if the fae themselves posed patiently for their portraits (which, knowing their temperament, must have involved bribery, flattery, and perhaps a minor moonlit ritual). The Good Faeries pages flutter with charm, grace, and just the right amount of sparkle — ideal companions for your morning Earl Grey and existential dread. Meanwhile, the Bad Faeries section is delightfully naughty, full of the sorts of creatures who would absolutely knock over your gin, steal your left sock, and blame it on the dog. And if you’ve the good sense (and equally enchanted wallet) to acquire his other masterpieces like Faeries (with Alan Lee), The World of the Dark Crystal, or Lady Cottington’s Pressed Fairy Book, then you, my dear, are clearly a refined connoisseur of the mystical arts and an unashamed devourer of visual ecstasy. Each book is a doorway — nay, a rabbit hole — into an aesthetic so rich, one needs smelling salts just to recover from the sheer beauty. In short: Buy this book. Buy the others. Build a shrine. I love Brian Froud's art & having this big, beautiful book full of his faries is great! I bought this used, but I'd swear it's new - this book is in perfect condition!

I have experienced faeries, devas and others all of my life. I experience them as light formations, emitting deeply emotional presence and awareness. I had never come across any sort of description or illustration of these beings that jived with my own until Brian's works. So for me, this is the real thing. Perhaps he wanders here and there in fun at times, but so much the better. Who else can you count on to reveal to you the Yellow Blurker, or the Foot Fungus Faery? Brian's work bears evidence to the infinite realm of faery, with gorgeous and rich illustrations and text. Or, as I mentioned before, the delightfully silly. I adore the world of fae, and wander at will throughout the pages of this wonderous book. Magic, inspiration, heart and the thrill of other worlds close at hand are all on tap for you here.

The shipping was very fast and the book is beautiful and in great condition.

This book is very cool. It starts on either side going towards the centre of the book. One half is of the “good faeries” then when you get to the middle it’s a double page illustration (shown in my photos) then you have to flip the book and start reading the “bad faeries”. The author Brian Froud also helped design the goblins and faeries in the movie the Labrinth. Anyone born in the 80s probably knows this movie. Growing up my mom had the collectors edition original faeries book. Eventually I’d like to buy one. Once I save up or maybe ask my husband to get it for me as a holiday gift. The collectors edition I’m talking about are selling used from some sellers for around $160-$200. But since it has deep childhood memories for me, it’s 100% worth it

So beautiful and enchanting. Bought as a gift for my 12 year old granddaughter who absolutely loved it. The only problem was that all the adults didn't want to put it down either !
