Truly Decadent!
I like to put instant hot chocolate in my coffee every now and again, but I can’t tolerate the sugar anymore. I also like to be able to actually *taste* the chocolate. This sugar free Double Decadent Dark hot chocolate has a very nice, rich, chocolate flavor that isn’t overpowered by the coffee. It’s also absolutely, decadently delicious on its own with a little heavy cream on a cold day. It brings to mind the hot cocoa my Mom used to make from scratch when we kids came in from sledding or ice skating. Now to find a good sugar free marshmallow to top it!

Delish!
Very tasty sugar-free way to make our chocolate protein smoothies, or our homemade mochas!

Doesn't taste like hot chocolate.
This is very sweet but it doesn't taste like hot chocolate at all. It has a very bitter aftertaste. The consistency reminds me of the old "Alba" drink mix, but it isn't as good. Pass on this one, folks. I won't be finishing the canister.

Tastes good but clumps
I mix it with a half cup of decaf coffee and some Orgain chocolate protein drink. This product is not very sweet and does not mix well. Even after stirring there are clumps. And it's expensive. I still might buy it again because the taste is good. Update 2/26. I mix a tablespoon of this chocolate and a scoop of collagen powder, then pour in the hot coffee. It mixes pretty well then. Then I add some Orgain chocolate protein drink. Very yummy! Protein, collagen, and chocolate all in one cup.

Cannot recommend the product as-is
This is an okay product with some issues for me. The good stuff: sugar free, dairy free, vegan approved. The in-between stuff: it has an intense dark chocolate flavor which is okay. The not-so-good stuff: it touts as being sugar free and that is okay BUT there is no taste of any sweetness at all, it does not go into solution/mix up well, leaving huge lumps of powder floating on the top of my mug no matter if hot/warm/cold water is added; the directions on the canister makes for an off-ration of this powder being way too much for 1 mug in my opinion. But I have been able to make it work by using only half the powder in a mug, adding a packet of stevia and mix using a battery powered drink wand mixer. Probably will not order the sugar free one again. Note: comparatively I previously ordered and loved the sugared version of this and it was the best tasting ever and still had issue of the powder not going into solution easily and had to use the wand hand blender and the ratio of powder also had to be decreased for my liking, BUT the sugar free has a lot more issues as detailed above.

Deep rich flavor
Love this! It has a deep rich flavor that's not too sweet. I put a tablespoon into my cup and added about two ounces of almond milk in and stirred. Got it into a thick syrup. Then I added an additional 13 or so ounces of almond milk. Nuked until hot and stirred. Result was a rich, wonderful treat. I'm lactose intolerant so I so appreciate that this is dairy free! But when you sip, it's the rich taste of chocolate that shines through, not the sugar. Not gonna lie, there is a very faint aftertaste, I'm guessing it's the stevia, but I drink diet Coke so I'm used to that. Love this mix!

Taste great.
My husband is a diabetic. We made peanut butter chocolate cookies and they were so good. This taste just like regular Cocoa. 😋 so rich? I'll be using this instead of regular Cocoa in any of my bake.

My grandma can't have sugar so this was a must to try so she had something new, she said the chocolate was really rich but she fould it tasted too sweet for her taste buds. The quality itself was good and she would recommend, just for her personally it didn't work out.

I was looking for a rich, thick, good-tasting hot chocolate that would still be workable for someone with Type 2 diabetes. That’s easier said than done. After a fair bit of research, I landed on this mix. Straight out of the can, I’ll be honest—it was disappointing. Thin, not very indulgent, and definitely not what I was hoping for. I was close to regretting the purchase. That said, this mix turned out to be a very good base. With some experimenting, I found that adding powdered skim milk and monk fruit sweetener completely changed it. My process is to blend everything thoroughly, let it sit for a few minutes, then blend again. The result is a much richer, smoother hot chocolate that actually feels decadent. The exact ratios will come down to personal taste, but equal parts of the mix, powdered skim milk, and sweetener is a solid starting point. After dialling it in, I genuinely enjoy this now. It has a proper dark chocolate profile and doesn’t taste like a cheap milk-chocolate mix, which is exactly what I was trying to avoid. Bottom line: not great on its own, but if you’re willing to tweak it, this becomes a very satisfying, diabetes-friendly hot chocolate that I’ll keep using.

Actually pretty good - it actually tastes like semi-sweet chocolate. Only downsides for me is it does have that sweetness that sugar free sweeteners typical have - which is perfect when I’m craving sugar. And it’s a bit hard to dissolve with just a spoon, it can be a tad clumpy but I don’t find that problem with a frother.

I bought this product previously and it tasted really good but I recently bought it again after a few months and they must have changed the formula because it didn’t taste right almost chemically

A rich dark chocolate flavor and satisfactory replacement for traditional hot chocolate. Some people who aren't used to dark chocolate to begin with, and are expecting something closer to milk chocolate, might be a bit disappointment by it's bitterness. To them, I suggest adding a bit of your preferred sweetener to it. I, personally, enjoy dark chocolate. I knew that's the flavor this mix was trying to emulate, (which makes sense because it's less sweet and easier to recreate with artificial sweetener) and I think they did a good job. My only real complaints are: 1. This is a minor complaint but it is a VERY light powder and clumps easily. So you have to do fair bit of stirring. I might invest in a tiny whisk. Or I might make it in one of those protein shake bottles with the mixer ball. In any case, this will definitely not stop me from buying it again. 2. It's a little pricey compared to a jar of Carnation hot chocolate mix, but the price difference isn't nearly as bad as some other sugar free product's I've encountered online. So I should be thankful it's still reasonably affordable.
