Battery is great. For all of the people complaining it doesn’t have acid, it is clearly stated in the ad NO ACID! Whether you buy it here or at a store, you must add the acid. You can get the acid at Home Depot or Lowes. Works great!

I purchased this to replace my 9 year old original battery that's been working like a champ. I can't complain about the usage of my WatchDog as it quietly works in my basement. The only problem I came across and out and found out that they are discontinuing this battery and pushing users to use their sealed unit. The main difference is that with this battery you will need to buy the acid and pour it in carefully. I guess they had people do stupid things with the acid and are no longer selling this type of battery anymore. Too bad because it lasted close to 10 years for me, and I'm guessing the sealed unit will not last as long. Overall I am very happy with this unit and I hope that one day I can find these replacements elsewhere. As a customer I don't like not having an option for my WatchDog unit.

Shipped well, exactly what I needed. Adding the acid is a bit of a pain but there's really no way to avoid it, it is what it is. I needed a special cap for the battery sensor, it didn't come with the battery. I wrote to basement watchdog and they sent me one for free. Their customer service was great, just not sure why they didn't just put one of those caps in the original packaging.

my original pump failed and as a panicking homeowner who knows nothing about sumppumps i purchased a new pump that required this battery... all i can say is that you are better off buying a live battery at a home improvement store for the same price... not one you have to put acid in yourself at home. Very dangerous, bettery acid is very corrosive and we wasted all this money for it to overfill & spill acid all over the battery. The acid is so clear and smooth that you cannot see the fluid as it is being placed into the chambers of the battery. This is not something that an untrained professional should be doing. There was nothing more nerve-racking than having battery acid spill allover your basement floor anf having to contact the local fire department to inquire about safe cleanup and disposal. The quantity of acid in the box that you must purchase is even too much for the size of the battery. We now have to spend hundreds more to replace the battery that was shipped to us dry.

Purchased from Home Depot 15+ years ago who no longer carries wet battery or battery fluid. Battery is shipped dry for obvious reasons. Some complained battery fluid (acid) was not readily available, it is stocked by local automotive chain stores (NAPA for one). I had mistakenly purchased an 850 cc size (less than 1 qt.) on Amazon for $25 - a mistake because battery takes over 5 qts and 6 qt size was available from NAPA for the same price.

It is impossible to find the acid locally in quantities enough to fill the battery, and nobody ships it. I ended up going to 8 different stores, buying a little bit from each, and it ended up costing more than the battery itself. It's just a deep cycle battery, which is sold everywhere, acid included.

Works for older Watchdog back up pumps that require a vented battery. This battery must be used if your have an older Watchdog system that charges and cycles the battery. Maintenance free batteries should not be used in the older designed units. The price is a little high for a vented old style design but you don't have a choice unless you decide to replace the entire system.

I rechecked the product description and there is no mention that its delivered without acid. It does mention that it's shipped dry. Many people have understood the same.

Do not purchase does not comes dry and turns out I can't find place to purchase the acid tried purchasing it from amazon and manufacture and can't get any no idea how to return it
